Thanks, Miss Jasmine, for posting about Dave and his family. I am the OP from the other thread, who knows Dave and his family. They are such an inspiration, as they have dealt with Dave's cancer so bravely and gracefully. Please do keep them in your prayers, that Dave may once again amaze the doctors and enjoy feeling good during the cruise.

Oh no, oh no, oh no!

My dh just called me at work to share with me that our middle son has a temp of 101.3. What do I do? We're leaving in 38 hours!

This is just the worst! I'm so stressed out! What if we all get sick? I can't stand this! After waiting since Nov. 04 for this trip, and to be this close, and now!

I'll check back with you guys in a while, I'm going home now!

Sandra, how is your son this morning? I hope and pray he is feeling better and that it was just a 24 hour thing. My biggest fear is that my kiddos will get sick right before! Right now one of them has croup.

Let us know how he is. Take lots of Tylenol and Motrin with you - along with any other remedy you deem necessary. Take a deep breath and try and relax.

Just remember not to give him a sleeping pill and a laxative at the same time!

I was in a drug store yesterday and saw another customer standing in a corner stiff as a board. I asked the pharmacist what was that guy's problem. He said the guy had come in with a terrible cough and asked for something to help.

I asked him what he gave the guy? He answered "A very potent laxative" to which I responded "Why did you give him a laxative?"

He looked at me and said "Now he's too afraid to cough!"

Sounded logical to me!!

Hello friends:

I have had the worst night, I didn't get any sleep at all. The Dr. thinks my DS has a lung infection in one lung. He was given antibiotics, and then his fever went up. Unfortunately, he doesn't tolerate motrin very well, and threw up. His temp went up to 105! I called the nurse on call, and she said wake him up and try again, which I did. The motrin went down to 101, but then went up again at 5 am. We gave him some gravol first, then the motrin stayed down, and now him temp is normal although his cheeks are very red. He says his tummy hurts, so I don't know what that means.

I am just praying that we will be able to go. I'm going to call my TA when she opens and ask what to do if he takes a turn for the worst. The dr. said he should be able to go but of course things can go so wrong...
He's just concerned he won't be able to go to the clubs, he doesn't realize we might not get on the plane! ... I'm so distraught! I'm at work finishing up some things, and my DS is in my DH's office playing on the computer for a couple of hours while DH mobilizes his staff and then he'll go home.

Aidan (that's DsickS) is chatty and excited about going. Last night my oldest (10) was so worried and anxious that we would have to cancel. Today he's so excited.

My assistant just came in with a gift: "An embarrassment of Mangoes' by Ann Vanderhoof, for a bon voyage gift. I just burst into tears.

I really have to go, I'll let you know later where we are at.

Best wishes to all those with the ills and chills. My DD18, who is away at school just called yesterday...strep throat! We don't leave until next week though so she has plently of recovery time. I sure hope everyone else get's on the well wagon soon! Rest and fluids, rest and fluids...
Hey Chris, I told Gram you were on the lookout for her. She said she would start polishing up her song repertoire. Maybe a raging round of "Let Me Entertain You". I wouldn't put it past her.
My mom's special order Land's End bathing suit arrived. It seems they may have reversed the bust and hip measurements. Saggy on bottom and eensy teensy tight on top. We suggested she just wear the whole suit upside down. So you might want to be on the lookout for her at the serenity pool!

Hello everyone:

Well our flight leaves in 11.5 hours. Aidan seems better, cheeks are still flushed but the phlegm in his lung seems improved. Temps not normal yet but really close.

Doing last minute packing and online checking in. I'm going to fill out my cruise docs now.

All 4 suitcases packed and we're just going over the list again.

My TA says that even if we have to cancel last minute, call insurance and they will try to put us on another flight in a few days, based on availability.

Sigh...this has definitely put a major damper on the last 2 days. My stomach is so sore, I can't even eat!

Since we haven't organized a meet yet, I hope everyone has a wonderful time. If you see someone that looks like a 42 year Cher (long dark hair, big nose) followed by 6 foot tall, dark, slim DH, and 3 young boys (10,7,4) that's probably our family. Lots of folks say I look like Cher so if you see someone who does, say Hi Sandra!

I hope I'm there, and that everyone will be fit and healthy.

Chris, got those docs yet? What's up? I live in the great white north, and I received mine!

Sandra, thanks for the update. Glad to hear things are a bit better. Have a very safe trip and hope to meet you on and your family on the cruise! We should be easy to spot - look for a tall (5'10) redhed, with a taller (6'4") dark haired DH, both of us slim. Along with a DD8 and identical twin DS 5 who people tell me look like John John (John Kennedy Jr. when he was younger). I hope to be hanging out in the sunshine by one of the pools most of the time!

Sandra...lots of WELL wishes coming your way. For our second cruise, our oldest son (then 8) got sick while we were in flight. He was absolutely fine here when we left, slept almost the entire flight to Orlando and when we arrived had a temp of 103! I had no idea where that came from. I prayed and prayed and prayed all night, gave him Tylenol and Motrin throughout the night and sure enough, he was fine the next day!! I will pray and pray for Aidan so that he feels 100% by the time you get to FL. When I spot Cher on the ship...I'll introduce myself! Have a safe trip to Orlando...see you in a week!

Well, Sandra should be off and running about now, lucky for her Hope that Aidan was 100 % by this morning. The rest of us have to wait it out alittle bit longer

Well I hope Sandra and her family are on their way for a beautiful vacation. Hopefully Aiden is feeling much better. Sandra, if you get a chance to read these: I'll keep a look out for Cher!
I can't really describe me as I don't look like anyone famous, but I'll be the short one next to two tall men. My ds is 5'11 and dh is 6'2" and I am only 5'6"...on a good day. I am working on getting us all matching shirts for boarding. Not sure if the guys will go for it, Ds and I want to wear Steeler shirts and dh wants to wear SeaHawks shirt.

Where is everyone today??? It's lonely here on the board all by myself. I've checked this thread no less than 10 times today. Has everyone else filled out their immigration docs yet? What did you put for the number of nights in Bahamas. I didn't put anything because I was unsure and thought we wouldn't really be there for a night. Should we put a "1"?

good to see so many other people will be sailing with us. I will be traveling with my 16yld son and my husband.

Does anyone else have a son/daughter around 16 who loves rock music, sports (especially football), video games and movies?

I am hoping my son can find some kids to hang with so he does not feel like he has to shadow us all the time.

can't wait to go.. it is so hard to concentrate at work these days !!!
