May 5th 2007 Western Magic CINCO DIS MAYO!

That was some list, Kim!! I tried last night to try to count and I was close, but your chart is fantastic. I will be printing that out!
Well we lived through day 4 of Madison's birthday. Oh yeah................a party at school on Thursday, trip to Disneyland with Mommy, Nana and PPPiglet!!!!!!!!! Then she went to Daddy's friday night and came home Saturday afternoon and had PRESENTS from Nana and Papa. Good thing she is the only grandchild, we would be in the poor farm:rotfl2: Today she had a party with 18 of her closest friends:rotfl2: at a place called Pump it Up. There is this huge room with these blown up thingies that you jump in slide down and climb in. 45 minutes later we moved into room 2 with an even bigger slide jumpie thing and climber. 45 minutes after that we went into the party room. We had pizza, soda and cake. They had a throne for Madison to sit in when she opened her presents. That went from 11:30 to 1:50. Her daddy was waiting to pick her up and take her to his house for yet another party. She is home now and in bed. How will we be able to top that next year!!:confused3 :confused3 Tomorrow starts swimming lessons :woohoo:

Debbie, thank you so much for her birthday gift, she was very excited. She went through the bag again on the way home! Debbie gave her a bag with scrapbook supplies for Madison's own cruise scrap book. She looks at Disneyland scrapbook supplies any time I take her to a store.:rotfl:
Well I should end this epic, now that I put you all to sleep. Talk to you later.
Karen

Madison was probably exhausted after that! (or at least Nana probably was!)
I had a great time Friday. It will be nice to see you again soon (40 days!) on the ship! And nice to finally meet everyone else too!

I had a great time too! It brings the trip so much closer meeting someone before!! And Madison was one tired little girl. But unbelieveably she went to bed easy.

I'm glad Madison's b-day was awesome. We have a "Pump It Up" here and they look like so much fun.

Cool present Debbie. What a great idea!

40 Days! I keep looking at my list and I still have so much to do:scared:

Hello everyone! We're booked on this Cruise too! First of all, I have no idea what I'm doing here, and will have to learn quick over the next 5 and a half weeks before our cruise!

We're cruising for our 2 year Anniversary, which is May 6th. We actually had this cruise booked for our honeymoon, but we chickened out b/c we weren't sure if we'd get sea sick or not, but now we regret going to Las Vegas instead, and still want to take our cruise! ha ha We have no children yet, but we have been to WDW so many times and we love everything Disney!

I have my Passporter's Guide from 2004, and some other guide I bought recently b/c I can't seem to find the latest Passporter's Guide at our local bookstore. I've done a lot of reading, but I still have lots of questions. I need ya'll's help!

We're flying to Orlando from Shreveport, Louisiana on Friday night, then taking a town car, or Limo to Port Canaveral on Saturday morning...sound like a good plan?

I am confused as to how the dinner rotation works...are we supposed to get some sort of schedule in the mail, or when we get on the ship? We chose the late dinner seating. Am I reading this correctly that you have the same wait staff every night, even at different restaurants? And I noticed that some of the ports of call are there until 9:30 or 10:00 PM...does everyone generally get back on the ship in time for dinner? And what if you want to stay in and order room service for dinner instead of going to whatever restaurant you're scheduled for that night?

Also, what should we do in Cozumel and in Grand Cayman? My husband can't swim at all, and won't even attempt it. I really want to snorkel or do something cool in the water, so does this mean that I'll be leaving him behind? Or can he come with me, and just watch? He would be content reading a book in the shade somewhere. Will someone please give me some suggestions that would be adventurous, fun and that we could both be involved in and enjoy?

I am definitely going to want to enjoy some of the spa treatments. Should I book these ahead of time? Or is it not very hard to get appointments the day we board the ship?

Also, I've read mixed opinions about what time to get to the terminal...any comments?

Thanks for reading this, and being so nice to us "newbies", and I'm looking forward to meeting everyone in less than 6 weeks! :yay:

Hi Jackie...welcome!

Yes...your dinner rotation will be on the card they give you for your room. Along with dinner tickets that tell you the time and restaurant. Your wait staff does follow along. You don't have to come back to eat at the restaurant from ports. You can order room service or go up to Topsiders for the buffet.

We have a car service picking us up at the airport at 9am so we should be at the terminal around 10.

Go to the Disney website and see what you can book online. It makes it much easier. If you can't or it's filled, so can go straight to the spa and make your appts. there.

Don't forget to come to our meet at 3:15pm on Saturday in the Promenade lounge on Deck 3. Hope to see you there!

Debbie

Ok I'm sure you all read about the 2 people overboard on that cruise ship today.

To all my new DIS friends.....

Please don't jump ship on my cruise!

What???:confused3 I didn't see this, or the news for that matter!:rotfl:
Did they find them? Do I want to know what ship??
Welcome Jackie! A bunch of us are going to Paradise Beach in Cozumel on our own. No excursion, just taxi. You can snorkel there, your husband can hang out on the beach. Not sure about umbrellas, but I would think there would be some you can rent!

Princess cruise line. The Grand. He was 22, she was 20. Apparantly "friends" saw them go overboard. I've heard various reports but story seems to be 2 couples were on the balcony, one couple went inside. The inside couple heard the balcony couple go overboard. Happened at 1:30am. The ship turned around. The coast guard was searching. The girl was found at 5:30am and the guy at 6. He was naked. Their names aren't being released. Dirty minds (mine includeded) speculate they were trying to do the deed with the assistance of the balcony railing when they fell overboard. No matter what, their parents must be proud. People were seriously inconvenienced. Reports are that for a time, the power to the ship had to be turned off, no lights, no A/C, no flushing toilets. Yikes!

I bet that cooled off their  ardor!!:lmao:
Speaking of doing wild and exciting things, who's up for the margarita/tequila tasting on the ship??:rotfl2: No, I'm serious!!

Welcome! We are a friendly group. You can check out our roll call to see who is sailing with you. Post #15. If you let me know your DH's name, I'll add you to it. Some of us are going to meet just to say hi and put faces to names. 3:15 Promenade Lounge - just a short meeting before the safety drill. You aren't the only couple without kids, should be fun for all.

To answer some of your questions. You won't get your time/rotation until you embark. As Debbie said, you will have the same wait staff and table number each evening though you move to a different restaurant.
5:30 & 8:00 = APLAPLA rotation. Character bkfst Key West morning.
5:45 & 8:15 = PLAPLAP rotation. Character bkfst Thursday morning.
6:00 & 8:30 = LAPLAPL rotation. Character bkfst Monday morning.
A=Animator's Palate
P=Parrot Cay
L=Lumiere's

Character Breakfast is the first Key West or at Sea day after Animator's dinner.

We will make it back in time for early dinner regardless of how long we are in port because we have a toddler that eat's early and goes to bed early and because we don't want to miss the shows. You can also order room service or Topsiders is open limited hours for dinner too.

If you don't want to do an excursion together you can snorkel at CC.
We are doing a snorkel excursion (booked on our own) in Grand Cayman with a stop at Stingray City. If your DH is content to stay on the boat, he may enjoy watching you in the water. Some of us are going to Paradise Beach in Cozumel, while others are doing the Jeep tour.

If you are interested in DCL excursions, you should book them online right away since they fill up. People have been allowed to book since 75 days out and returning cruisers and suite guests even before that.

We are getting to the port around 10am when it opens because 1) we are flying in the day before and staying at the Radisson near the port so considering we have to check out early anyway, why not and 2) there was no Palo brunch available and I want to get an early boarding pass, eat, get my kid's swimsuit on and settled in with DH before heading to get that straightened out and coordinated with Flounders. So I guess it depends on preference.

The happy faces were an idea from my mother in law..... They are spread out on the calendar, 1 per week. The kids get a special present on each happy face day that has to do with the cruise.
So, for the first happy day face they got a travel journal, a mickey mouse book mark, and a gift card to buy something for the plane ride.
The secind happy face day, they got sun glasses, sun tan lotion and a new Jibbits for their crocs.
Only 4 more days till the next happy face.....:woohoo:
AND 40 days to go till the cruise!!!

My mom, sis, bil, and their friends (dad opted to refrain) all did the dolphin swim in Cozumel 3 years ago. They bought the video. I watched it and it looks so AWESOME! You will have an amazing time, I'm sure.

Beth: Cool calendar! But what do the smiley faces denote?

LoveableGluttons: Wait a minute, how did I miss your arrival? I need to add you and your crew to our roll call. Introductions, please:goodvibes
ETA: ok, now I've paid attention to your ticker and I'm really confused.

ok i tried to print the calendar and it wouldn't print right for me..so hoping maybe i can make something later this week. i did get one more shirt done but dh didn't like the one i did on the test run for him so he wnated to pick another one out so i still have one more shirt to do tonite..geesh it never ends. i ended up haivng to have someone at work draw me a mickey hand as i gave up coming up empty handed looking online.

welcome schulzdisneylovers i see you found us ok..i see the others already answered your questions so i will just say the first day is usually the hectic day getting things situated and and taking care of last minute things that need booked onboard itself..but once we set sail its time to kick back and go with the flow..don't let things overwelm you.. it's vacation which means time to relax and have fun.

And I just read a news article saying that they didn't come on board together!
Must have met on the ship!

It just gets better and better (or worse depending on your perspective). Ship diving is becoming popular. From what I understand they were allowed to remain on the cruise (don't know how much time was left). They should have been put off or sent to the brig to be arrested upon disembarkation. When people behave badly on a plane, it lands and they go directly to jail.

Thanks for the chart Kim. I am hoping Kailey will qualify to go into the kids club as well. We have been working hard at potty training the past couple of months. She actually is doing really well. I'm only having problems with #2. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that she can get in.

so i assume the 2 was found alive then?? wonder how much alcohol they had in their systems when they found them.
