Kohl's line was ridiculous. My MIL was in line so I ran and got the one thing that I wanted and handed it off to her.

Have a great weekend!!! :surfweb:

Kohl's ?? Oh how I miss my Kohl's! Now if I want to shop at Kohl's I have to head over the mountains to Tacoma! I absolutely love the sales I used to get at Kohl's! One time, I got a $350 suitcase for $75!!!

(sigh)...now I just have stupid stores like JC Penney, Macy's and Sears. Of course we did just get Coldwater Creek, Chicos and Ann Taylor outlet... :woohoo:

Sounds like you had quite the day CruiseBoundnKY!

I didn't brave Blaack Friday either. I went out yesterday with DD and found so many stores with minimal sales. Old Navy still had a good sale going and so did Kohl's. I went into Kid's Gap and the only sale they were having was spend at least $50 and get 15% off! I guess the stores made so much money on Friday they didn't need to continue with many sales on Saturday!! :sad2:
I ordered DGD a Princess remote control car on DisneyShopping.com. I really like shopping on line. I don't get as grumpy! :teeth:
We went to Lowe's and bought a 8 ft. inflatable Santa for out front and also some light up candy canes of the walk way. But they are still in boxes!
Oh well, it's not December yet.
I hope every one has a great (rest of the) Thanksgiving Weekend!

I think I'm in a slump lately. I did not do anything this Holiday except eat. Thats it...eat :confused3 I hope everyone had a great holiday. I am mostly decorated though. Have a great week everyone!

Thats about how I feel today. It is gorgous outside and i spent it inside forcing myself to do housework and get caught up.

Sorry to change the subject a little... I will be on the May 5th Western Caribbean. This is our first Disney Cruise. Is there any specific advice or ideas I should remember. Total of 6 adults and 4 kids. I think we have early seating. Any help would be great. Considering using a limo company for transport from MCO, and staying at the Radisson. Thanks

Hi Drew and :welcome: Several Disers are sailing with you and your family. For a complete list of who is sailing check out the first page of this thread, post # 15. If you let me know everyone's names (and relation to you) as well as the kids' ages, I'll add everybody to our roll call list. Some of the kids are emailing other kids near their ages in advance so that they will already have friends to connect with upon embarkation.

My name is Kimberly (aka Michigan Kim) and I'm sailing with my husband Brian and our son Devin who will be just shy of 3 years when we sail. DH and I have cruised before but never on DCL and this is DS's first cruise ever. We have early seating as well. With a group of 10 you should all be seated together. I'm hoping for APL rotation (since at 5:30 pm, its the earliest of the early seating) but I won't be disappointed if we don't receive it. PLA starts at 5:45 pm and LAP starts at 6:00 pm.

We haven't committed to any hotel yet, but we too are considering the Radisson. A limo is certainly an option for anyone who doesn't want to drive and if you search the DCL Forum board you'll find plenty of recommendations. We have found that for our family of 3 it is more cost effective, and allows more flexibility to rent a car at MCO (probably from Budget), drive to the hotel, and make a few stops for last minute items if necessary. Saturday morning I'll drop my family off at the terminal, return the car just down the street and take Budget's free shuttle back to the terminal. A one day diet SUV rental will cost us about $45 (using promo codes from Mousesavers).

By the way, though movies and perhaps activities are subject to change you may want to check out the recent Navigators to get an idea of what is going on when. Here is a link http://home.mchsi.com/~stuffy2000/ Formal night is Monday (first day at sea). Pirate night is Wednesday (Cozumel, but don't be confused by recent Navigators that list it on Tuesday as my understanding is that was a temporary change just to give the staff a little extra R&R in Cozumel). Semi-Formal night is Thursday (2nd at sea day). If you plan to do excursions you may want to give it some thought as they tend to fill up quick and for that reason people try to book ASAP. The Navigators will give a list with meeting times and you can find the description of what is offered on DCL's website. Some people prefer to book DCL excursions for convenience. Others prefer to book on their own because its generally a little cheaper with more personalized service.

As for advice/information, there are some here who are veteran DCL cruisers so feel free to ask questions and hopefully someone will have an answer for you.

:offtopic:

Hi All! I'm totally bummed :sad2: .

Today has really stunk! 1st of all my hubby left for California this morning. He will be back late Thursday night, but I don't function as well in his absence. I know he's a fireman and gone every 3rd day already, and this is the 2nd time this year he has traveled to another state. The first trip was to Texas for 10 days, so this isn't nearly as bad. But it still really bums me out.

Then, my co-worker called me to pick her up because she was too ill to drive to work. Of course I did and we picked up McD's for breakfast since we didn't have time to eat. My boss walked in and accused us of having a party party: and not getting anything done. He did not talk to us until we finally cornered him later which turned into a big mudslinging thing. But we did not get a lunch today because of it.

I finally broke down :sad1: when I got home from stress and probably hunger, but I just couldn't hold it in any longer. For a brief moment I thought of quitting my job and giving up the cruise, but I'm still here. :teeth:

I love these smilies. This will be us late Thursday night :love2:

Hey... I love JC Penney! Hee Hee....had to tease you! When Kohls first opened here, my mom won the free car they were giving away. I couldn't believe it! Me and my sis were in our store here and the cashier was telling us that at another store someone had just won one. (It was my mom and we had no clue til 3 days later!)

Hi Drew....Welcome! We have early seating too, but we will probably be on another rotation than you as we don't have any small kids. We will probably get the LAP rotation that we got last time.

The best tip is just to keep reading on these boards, and/or get the Passporter Guide.

Cruisebound....what a bad time for him to have to come to calif. It just started raining today! (after months and months of 90 degree weather!)

Karen, I am so sorry to hear about your bad day at work. I had a "bad day" at work about a month ago and I had to quit. We are going to be tightening the belts for a while. Which would be really great for the diet! :rotfl:
I hope things go better tomorrow.
I have been working today :surfweb: trying to make this a good day for Cyber Monday. It's a tough job, but someone has to do it! :rotfl2:

Thanks for the responses everyone. I'm feeling much better after a good cry and some sleep. It doesn't hurt that my boss won't be in the office today or tomorrow either. :rotfl2:

I'm not sure where La marida ?sp California is, but hubby is visiting right outside of Oakland. Not for sure of the township.

Is it rude to ask to be frosted? I want that cute little thing at the bottom of my posts.

I hope everyone has a great :thumbsup2 day! Thanks for listening to me yesterday.

Kim in FL, we too are decorated and I even have presents wrapped under the tree. I was on the ball this year.

Karen, glad to hear things are going better for you. I must say I don't miss the days of being miserable at my stinking job! But, of course, I'm still looking for a new job and its getting old! Still, on the bright side we all have so much to look forward to including the cruise. I'm now trying to focus on the upcoming holidays. Its such a fun year - DS didn't run screaming from Santa and I tell you once he was informed that Santa will bring him presents IF he believes and IF he is a good boy, he's all excited. I'm going to milk this Santa is watching you, better not pout, better not cry stuff for all its worth. :rotfl2: The tree is up, the presents are wrapped and underneath the tree, but the house is in shambles and the outside lights need to go up. Plus we are headed to Toronto this weekend for best friend's Baby Shower and I have more games to print off. So I'm off the take advantage of the unusually warm weather we are having since its a nice change from the snow flurries we had a week and a half ago. Hang in there!

BTW, since we've been on the subject of shopping, for anyone who is interested, I found embroidered disney character pillowcases that can be personalized (no extra charge) for $8.49 + $2.75 S&H at this Ebay store http://stores.ebay.com/Antonia-Mikes-embroidery I think this personalized pillowcase will be really nice to give to guest services for the autographs. Additionally, the DisneyShopping.com has personalized fleece blankets on sale for $9.99 (normally $39.99) although at $8.50 S&H is a little pricey. Personalized orders must be placed by 12/13 in order to arrive by Christmas.

Happy shopping to all!

Thanks for the info I the pillowcases Kim. I will check on that today. I also wanted to share with you something we have been doing with Madison for the last two years. We bought a stuffed elf two years ago and told her he came from Santa to keep an eye on her and make sure she was a good girl. Every night we would move him to a different spot in the house so he could keep watch. It is kind of fun watching her look for the elf each day to see where she had to be "exspechelly good"! When she started to get whiney or naughty we could just remind her the elf was taking notes for santa!
As soon as I dig out the decorations, he will go up for this year too!

OOOOOHHHHHH! Santa's sneaky little elf...I mean special little helper. Either way, I like it! Thanks!

I haven't ordered the pillowcase yet because I'm having a hard time deciding between Mickey and Donald, but I bought way too much stuff from DisneyShopping.com!

How many of you have done the pillowcase signing thing? I was thinking about doing this as well. I did hand make an autograph book so you all watch out as i intend on having you all sign it and getting pictures of everyone to put in it for my daughter.

Cruisebound..sorry about your bad day..i hate when i have those kind of days but glad a good sleep and cry cured it.

Also just a reminder for anyone else wanting to get in on the christmas card exchange don't forget to pm me with your name of kiddos, ages, and snail mail addresses. I will send you all the main list this weekend (prob sat). And for those of you with younger ones (3 ish) you are more then welcome to still join as i found when i did this with my daughter with a group at age 2, although she didnt know the people or anything she did love the pretty cards she got.

Welcome aboard any new people. I am Tracy and my crew is me, dh, stepson Jon (15 at cruise time) and dd Amber (4 at cruise time) We have late seating right now but have requested early seating although not very hopeful on getting it.

Question on the roation seating..what is LAD and such? Ok i need to get back to work now instead of playing on the computer...lol

We ordered the pillowcase yesterday. Madison wanted TinkerBelle on hers. And Tracy, I did mail you our address, didn't I? :confused3 The memory is going!!! :rotfl: I was thinking about making some quick copies of her new pre-school picture to put inside so maybe the kids can find each other, anyone else interested?

The dinner rotations are the order of the restaurants you eat in each night. LAP, PLA, APL......We had LAP, Lumieres, Animators, then Parrot Cay. LAP is the rotation you usually get if you have all adults in your party. (not always though, depends on what spots they have to fill at each seating.) So APL would be for families with teens, and PLA would be families with younger kids. Not sure if I have those backwards though! You can search on it and someone might know for sure.

Oooppsss....forgot...La Mirada is 10mins north of Disneyland! Oakland is about 6-7 hours away. My grandparents lived in Fremont which is right by Oakland.

Well since my son has been a teen we have always had PLAP rotation, but I don't know if that is just how it worked out, or if that is the way they plan it?

Lisa

Not sure why that posted twice?
Sorry!
Hope everyone is doing well. We have been running, but I have nearly all my shopping done! :cool1:
Christmas, here we come!!
