No cruise doc yet :( Hope they come this week.

I'm sure they'll come soon:) I've been reading on some of the other cruise meets and some cruisers from the Transatlantic and april 24th cruise don't even have theirs yet. I'm not sure why they get to some places faster than others.

We still don't have our docs yet, but I think they may have gone to our travel agent first. No worries. :)
I've got all your info posted. Would love to get some more pictures. PM me if you want to post one! I am still working hard to add to the site daily. Currently working on the port info for Villefranche. Website is http://may5med.weebly.com/
Hope it is helping in some small way.

You are doing a great job on the site Kaleigh!!

No docs here yet, but I'm ok with that for now.....not sure when that will start making me nervous ;)

We have our FE and all the gifts are done :goodvibes....weighed them in one carryon, and it is too much weight, I'll have to divide it up...kind of shocked me how much it all weighs, but the kids are very excited to pass everything out!

I did a trial pack today and actually came out pretty well. I'm taking a rolling duffel to check with my stuff and my daughter's, half of which might be binkies...

I'm also taking a bunch of OTC meds. Having been to Europe many times...I have never been to Europe without getting sick. Something just saps my immune system. So, now, I know to take meds of every kind. Yes, I realize they have pharmacies, but I'm just way more comfortable taking what I might need instead of searching something out. Having done that in Venice, Prague and Paris, I have no desire to repeat the experience when I'm sick and miserable and trying to explain what is wrong with me to the pharmacist. The nice thing about this trip is the ability to get some stuff onboard. We'll be travelling beforehand though, so I'm being all Boy Scout about it and going prepared.

I'm taking a copy of my daughter's adoption certificate, which shows I adopted her as a single mom. I'm not sure what other documentation to take on that score. I can't very well have a spouse fill out that affidavit that says I can take her out of the country, seeing as how I have no spouse. I hope that will be good enough to take care of any questions. I don't want to take the original, since that is the only original I have from China and it isn't like I can go get more. Don't suppose anyone else has been out of the country as a single parent? On our first Disney cruise, no one said anything or asked for anything, but it was just to the Bahamas.

I'm the same way with OTC meds. I always bring a bunch of them on cruises because you never know what you might need. My must haves are: Advil, Benadryl, and an antacid. They do have some meds for sale onboard, which is really nice, but the shops aren't typically open while the ship is in port and they don't have everything. I've heard they do have sea sickness meds available at the medical center, but I've never needed them.

I would ask DCL about documentation for your daughter, Sabermc. I'm sure you're not the only one who has had this question.

Kaleigh, the site looks great. I love the information, it's really helpful! :goodvibes

I am taking my DS on the May 15th cruise as a single parent. I have only taken him to Canada and to the Caribbean and have never been asked for documentation. I would call your air carrier since that is most likely who is going to require proof. I have sole custody and have been told to bring a certified copy of my divorce decree. I had no problem getting his passport without my ex's permission using the certified copy. I would see if there is someone that could certify a copy(maybe an attorney or see if your state allows notaries to do that), otherwise I would recommend bringing the original.

Noticed you're from Potomac. My sister (CJ'sMOM) and I grew up in Olney. I still have lots of friends we visit in Mont. Co.

Lara:wizard:

Yes, neighbors! You won't miss us in our Raven's gear. I tried to PM you, but I don't have enough posts to qualify. DH from Baltimore. I am from the midwest and have been in the DC metro area for about 15 years now. Can't wait for this trip.

No cruise docs yet. We were hoping to see them this weekend.

Hi Ilja - noticed your daughter's name is Demi too? My Demi just turned 5. Will definitely be cute to have 2 Demi's! Hers is short for Demitra - fairly common Greek name but don't know too many people who go by Demi.

Whoa! Where is everyone today? Finally finished updating port info on the website. Gosh, it was difficult finding anything for Corsica. But, I figure it will be a nice break after the previous ports. What OTC drugs do you suggest we bring? Never thought of that, but it makes sense.

Kaleigh! Thanks so much for the website, I promise to include my information as soon as I get a breath the next two weeks! :)

I just received my travel documents today, we booked 2 rooms, one with my parents and my son in that one (5 in our family so we had to split the rooms) and one with my husband/me/daughters...total of 7 going...but on the luggage tags and where it lists who is in this room, they do not have my mother listed!!:scared1:

I have called the travel company to see what happened....I have never used a travel company and to be honest I am spending more time trying to contact them than if I had just left the ressie with Disney...I guess I have to work for my $500 OBC...did anyone else have a person missing? Is this common? It's our first cruise and all this is new to us!

Update****I just checked further into the documents and on pages 33/37 it does have my mom's name listed but she is not on the inside cover or do I have luggage tags...do you think I can get some??

Thanks!!
Tara

It is quiet today, isn't it? Maybe we're all busy making packing lists! I bought a clear over the door shoe organizer from Target today, to use in our room to hold all the amazing amount of crap that we bring between two women and a 4 year old. We did this on our first cruise and it really helped keep the counters clear and a tad organized.

For OTC meds, I take something for every ailment, basically. Pepto, Immodium, Cepocal sore throat, Vicks, Tylenol, ear drops, eye drops, etc. I think I'm going to take some of those Thermacare pacthes and some roll on Icy Hot this time. My body isn't as cooperative with my travel plans as it used to be!

I bought a dress today. It is very packable and all these pretty blue colors that look totally Mediterranean-y. It has been so long since I've bought new clothes for myself, but I'm kind of remembering how much I enjoy it, lol. Most of my clothes budget goes toward the Princess, but I don't want to look slovenly in our pictures, lol. I feel like all the pictures I have with her are her looking adorable and me in the Mom Suit (velour track suit that I have in multiple colors).

I did get an email from DCL today about making sure I planned excursions, Palo, etc. I just thought that was nice to see.

I also saw on the other thread that there will be a currency exchange at Guest Services. That's nice! Not sure how good the rate will be, but can't beat the convenience!

Our cruise doc's arrived today.:woohoo:

I guess this means that I can start packing.:laundy:

I am SOOO ready for real spring weather.:dance3:

Congrats! Join me in the Entirely Too Early Packing Brigade (ETEP). I have most of my part of our suitcase packed and am working on the stuff for my daughter. She's more complicated to pack for though!

I also have this carry on rolling duffel (which I got from World of Disney as a "spend more and buy me" item) that is full of stuff to entertain said daughter, who will most likely want to spend her time watching her iPod. Yes, I invested in an iPod for a 4 year old. Best thing ever though, if you travel a lot. She loves it. I got her this iPod Tadpole holder thing that is wonderful for small hands.

I bought a new swimsuit from Land's End. It looked adorable on the model. I'm afraid I'm going to be really disappointed, lol. :guilty:

Tara, now I'm going to have to check our luggage tags. Thanks for mentioning that. I hadn't pulled those out and looked at them yet.

I keep reading my Passporter book's menus for the restaurants. I mean, I've read those dozens of times, but I seem to be obsessed with what I'm going to eat. I may need an intervention. Step away from the creme brulee!!!

Those are so cute! I think DH would revolt if I tried to make him wear matching T-shirts.
I am getting excited. I bought all our travel sized items today. (Silly, but something about it made me smile) Can't wait!
Oh, and did we nail down an official 2:00 on day 2 meet time? I wouldn't mind meeting those who were willing the day before as well, just maybe a "say hi" kind of thing. What do you think?
