May 4, 2013 Fantasy 7 Night Eastern Caribbean

Happy New Year everyone!

We are most likely staying at POR before the cruise. We get off the Dream on the 2nd, and we're thinking about getting a rental car for back to WDW, then riding DCL back to port to get there early to hope for an upgrade.

We are at BWV a couple of days early also. If you ride the disney transport to the port we'll probably see you.

We are driving to PC the Friday morning so we won't see you on your transfer, but maybe around BWV!

Gummpy maybe we'll run into you too, DH loves that you call it the Star Wars cruise. Too bad it really isn't themed that way, my DSs would love that!

Was looking at iTunes and saw a preview for iron man 3. It is due to be released on 5/3. So we will have it playing on our cruise. Looking forward to that

Here is the FE list and Recipe exchange list again. Sorry we had to reschedule our cruse and cannot join you. :(

I'll go ahead and take over the FE and recipe list. Thanks so much for all you have done Amanda. Going to miss meeting you. Maybe on another cruise.

A Bushwacker is a milkshake (not:rotfl2: - but it tastes like one :thumbsup2) Yes, it's alcoholic and basically consists of: (got this recipe off of divinerecipes.com)

1/2 ounce rum (Cruzan is the best, but use whatever brand you have)
1/2 ounce vodka (any brand)
1/2 ounce Bailey's Irish Cream (or a similar off-brand name)
1/2 ounce Kahlua (or a coffee flavored off-brand name)
1/2 ounce amaretto liqueur (any brand)
1/2 ounce chococo chocolate-flavored liquer
1/2 ounce Frangelico (I recommend it) (optional)
1/2 ounce creme de coconut (a MUST - "Coco Lopez" is best)
1 cup crushed ice (more or less to make the proper consistency) 3 dashes of grated nutmeg
1 tablespoon whipped cream
1 maraschino cherry

OMG! I would probably need a cart to go back down the mountain!!!! Thanks for the information.

I had my first bushwacker on New Years Eve. MMMMM GOOD!!!

Thanks for taking over the FE list!! :cool1: After being in charge of the FE list for the last 5 cruises, it's really nice to not have to worry about keeping it updated and what not. Thanks again!!

Don't forget to check out the lanyard list and add your info if you're interested in special lanyards. The lanyards are provided by members of the lanyards team, who will help me pay for and design the lanyards and name badges.

I will start designing the lanyards/name badges this weekend (hopefully). If you signed up to be a member of the lanyards team please send me an email and I will send you design ideas to vote on. Also, please feel free to send me any ideas you have! Thanks!

You'll soon be hooked on cruising! The on board booking gives you a higher on board credit for the cruise you are booking and you only pay a 10% deposit.

We got a 10% discount, $200 shipboard credit and only had to put a 10% deposit when we booked this cruise while inboard over Christmas.

Looking forward to Cinco de Mayo aboard my 4th DCL cruise!

I have designed the name badge for the lanyards! If you're a member of the lanyards team and are interested in seeing my idea shoot me an e-mail at sarcottrell@gmail.com and I'll send the design your way. It's just an idea, and I'm totally open to suggestions and any creations you may have.

It was brought to my attention that I did not include anything related to Cinco de Mayo in my lanyard design. Would you like me to include this in my design? I honestly didn't even think about it, as I don't celebrate the holiday, but I understand that others will be celebrating. I was also thinking that we're not going anywhere in Mexico for the cruise, but we are going to the Caribbean so I made it beachyish. If you'd like me to include it in the lanyard please just let me know!

Looking at navigators from August (the most current ones on wdwinfo) it looks like our nights are going to be:

Day 1: cruise casual
Day 2: formal
Day 3: cruise casual
Day 4: Pirate or cruise casual
Day 5: cruise casual
Day 6: Semi-formal
Day 7: cruise casual

What do you think? Is my thinking correct?

Do you know what shows are what nights?

Do you know what shows are what nights?

According to the same (August 2012) Navigator:
Day 1: I'm guessing it's the general cruising first night celebration..
Day 2: Aladdin
Day 3: Wishes
Day 4: Special Act (whoever is on board)
Day 5: movie
Day 6: Disney's Believe
Day 7: An Unforgettable Journey

We arrive in Orlando the week prior to the cruise and will be staying at the BWV. DH and I have been counting down for a while and I've been spending a lot of time on the boards and just now came across this thread!

We've been to DL and WDW a few times but have never been on a cruise, so we are very excited. We haven't told the boys yet that we are booked, but they know we'd like to go on a DCL. We'll most likely tell them about a month out.

I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone and learning some tips from you past cruisers!

Nice to have another Cory on board (even if its not spelled correctly LOL)!

Looking at those same navigators and it looks like the shows on the sea days have 3 times. One at 3 another at 6:15? An the late show at8:30? I plan to take advantage of that earlier show and then be able to check out the night life after dinner rather than the late show. With 3 small kids at my house I'm never awake past 10:30. Of course this plan only works if I get nursery time.
