We also got our room number assigned. We were booked in a Cat 9 and have been upgraded to a Cat 6! We are all so excited, 30 day tomorrow.

Wow, that sounds like a HUGE upgrade! Is that from an inside cabin to one with a balcony?

How does this upgrade thing work? It only happens if you book gty, right? I assume since we went through a TA and she booked us a specific room # that it won't happen to us, right?

I wish I were onboard now!

I haven't posted here for a while but wanted to check in.

I finally got around to doing our on-line check-in last night and was surprised to see that we got upgraded from a cat. 6 to a cat. 4. Although my gut reaction is to be excited about an upgrade, I'm a little bit worried that being on deck 8 will be noisy. I'm hoping the fact that we are just a few doors down from the Roy suite means that it won't be too bad. Anyone have experiences to share?

In looking at the list of cruisers a few pages back, it seems that there are several of us traveling with young kids. We have a DS3 and DD6. Are people interested in introducing the kids - maybe the first night at the club?

Hi Dan. This cruise will be our second on Deck 8, and I have to say that the noise from above wasn't too, too bad, and I believe we were under the Goofy Pool. We heard chairs moving and some running above. Now, it was far from optimal if you are of the "nap in the afternoon society" as we are. Are you more under the arcade? I am not sure what that is like. I would look at the room reports and see what they say about noise, etc.

You can be upgraded either way! It happens with both guarantees and non-guarantees. I keep checking my ressie since I have heard about these upgrades! We have a guarantee, and still no upgrade, but we are super happy to be anywhere on the ship

Whatever works will be fine with me. If there's less than 7 families, then assigning everyone a day would be fine. I was just trying to keep it simple so that people would find it easier to participate. There are other meet groups that have had over 100 participants . So I was worried about trying to set up a schedule.

I bought some little trinket things from Oriental Trading Co. and had no clue how many to plan for, so I played it safe and ordered 4 dozen. I guess I'll have lots left over to save for kids parties and church and stuff. I've seen lots of cute stuff at the Dollar tree, too, so I'll probabaly stop in there in the next couple of weeks, too.

We might wait another 2 weeks and see if a few more families decide to join in. Just a thought!

I'm so jealous of all of you that got upgrades! I checked today but no such luck. We are in cat 5 but cat 4 would have been nice to try! We've always done cat 5 but sure owuld like to see what the littel bit of extra room was like!

We're usually "matchy" nerds, too! But this time, we bought DH a tux with a black cumberbund. This works okay, since my dress is red and black, but I got DS a red and black paisley vest and bow tie set!

That's the normal time range, actually. Besides, besides the baggage tags, what do you need from that packet? IIRC, everything else is online.

We're planning on sending our formals to dry cleaning or pressing our first day on the boat. That way the creasing due to travel isn't important. DH is bringing his suit and his tux... I'm bringing quite a few dresses... I found some sales...

Me too! We are still in a tiny cat 11 up front. But, at least we are on the ship.

I booked the Romantic Escape as a surprize for hubby, not that it will be that romantic as we are travelling with DS(13) and DS(6) but they will get a kick out of sharing breakfast in bed. When the travel agent emailed to confirm the add on she said that just to make it extra special we got the complementory upragde from the oceanview to the balcony. I don't know how true that is, as it might have just been good timing when I booked the add on, as it appears they where starting to assign the GTY's on Monday!
Either way we appreciate the upgrade, now we can eat the champagne breakfast on the balcony! That sure made my day yesterday!!

I have to admit I'm a little worried though. I officially have a bad cold today. I was trying to ignore it, but it is now full on, I might even call in sick tomorrow. Everything aches. And, I'm always one of those people who has colds FOREVER! I am deathly allergic of cough syrup, isn't that a stupid thing to be allergic to?

Anyway, I'm crossing my fingers that it goes away soon 'cause I have flown with a cold before and it is horrible. Your head feels like it is gonna pop!!!!!!!
