May 3, 2003 - Magic Eastern Cruisers

" The older one gets, the more one feels that the present must be enjoyed; it is a precious gift, comparable to a state of grace."
Marie Curie

I love this quote- now this wasn't a mere attempt to up my count was it?!;)

Andy, I so wish you could have found a way to join us!

If it makes you feel any better -- can you believe it's *snowing* here today?!

Wow, the founders of MediaMarx are joining us, too! This is starting to feel like a celebrity cruise! I'm a big Passporter fan! Ive been dragging the cruise edition around like a security blanket for weeks, and the WDW edition from our last trip is brimming on the coffee table! (Jennifer and Dave, I know you're relaxing, and completely understand if it would be an imposition, but it would be wonderful to spend a few minutes with you to get some advise -- I'm very seriously looking at moving away from corporate life to writing more, with the eventual goal being writing for a living. Twenty minutes of your time would be so appreciated.)

Flags! Don't think there's time before we leave -- thank goodness we've got one waiting for us to install our flagpole when we get back. It's not the Stars and Stripes, but I've always thought they and the Maple leaf lookpretty good together!

Jeanne434 -- you are just too cute! You remind me of my sister, and I haven't even met you yet!!

PeachyK -- I'm bringing a long black skirt and a sleeveless paisley/greenish and black /sparkly top (looks better than it sounds!). If your velvet isn't heavy, you'll probably be fine -- but there's something so appealing about a light pretty dress on a carribean night that might make you prefer the other. (I'm, shall we say, more of a woman of substance, so I kind of stick to the simple look, but I'd love to wear a 'floaty' dress!)

Now, the wine's picked up; the bags are on the bed; the dry-cleanings done; nametags are made (yes they feature the paint chips!), just gotta go pack . . . and keep dancin' . . . we leave in THREE days!!!!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Thank you for the warm welcome! :)

Andy, we've been following your posts throughout this thread. It's too bad you can't make this cruise -- we'd have loved to meet you in person.

Jeanne, we know all about S.D.D.... we always get afflicted with the single digit dance before our trips!

northernmouse, we'd be more than happy to chat with you for a bit about the wonderful world of writing. Shall we set up a time to talk once we're on board, or do it now? Feel free to e-mail us!

I (Jennifer) just went through my wardrobe to be sure I had enough dresses and such. Dave isn't doing a tux this time around, so I can't wear my black formal dress. He's going to wear a dark blue, double-breasted suit, and I've settled on full-length, pink satin dress that's fun to wear. I can't wait!

No snow here, but, we had a lot of cold rain, last night and this morning. Looking forward for more 70 degree weather this week.

Jennifer and Dave, I would have enjoyed meeting you as well, I truly enjoy my DCL PassPorter. If you make it to the wine tasting party, you might even see my photo there. Matthew has a photo of me, and lord knows what he is going to do with it!?!?!

:teeth: :teeth: :teeth: :teeth: :teeth: :teeth: :teeth:

OWWWW- my face hurts......

But seriously- it just hit me- at this time next week my belly will be too full and my server will still be insisting that I have dessert of some sort.
" Okay , okay - I'll have one of each -if you insist."
Then it will be back to the room to change into something (with an elastic waist) suitable for dancing upon the deck!!
First I'll tuck my kiddos into bed for the night- I know they will be worn out.
YEAH RIGHT!!!
They have notions of staying up most all the night. I can't wait to dance with my girls!!
Just about the only requirement I have is that they make it for dinner as a family each night suitably dressed for formal potraits. I am DETERMINED to get a few wonderful family potraits before DD enters the Army. This is absolutely non- negotiable. You will dress up and smile every night or spend the next day in the room with room service cut off!! Actually- they are all looking forward to dressing up. Even DS- Sir Sulleness just cuz he's 15 is planning on wearing a full suit each night! And the girls have wonderful gowns so that isn't an issue at all with them. I told them they can change right after dinner but there has been no arm twisting any of them. We will probably be over dressed most nights but who cares? This is a once in life time opportunity and we are going for it. I have budgeted big bucks for photos- even at the expense of any excursions! I am sure we will even be imposing upon strangers and fellow dis'ers to snap photos of us! ( I think we oughta get the room steward to do a group shot in the Walt at the wine tasting- for us and for dearest Andy)
oh shoot- I just realized that this looong post could have upped my count by about 10 at least. At this rate I will never get Veteran Status.

Jeanne, you will be there before you know it. I just started in January of this year. I know I spend too much time at the computer, but that's another addiction I have to deal with. LOL!!!

Tomorrow sis and I are going to a special wine tasting at a Massachusetts winery. Hmmmm- never heard much about Mass wines but then I never looked into it before the invite to the Walt Suite :teeth:
They are showcasing blueberry, rasberry, apple and some more traditional type wines. Also serving "special" snacks. Ought to be an interesting day- i'll report back and you will all be able to
"taste the fruits of our labor" on Monday! lol !:p

Ps- rae- can you like ask me some questions or something so I can get more posts in??? jk- lol

I am very glad that my husband found our new family and friends. I don't know if he is going to be as happy when I go shopping for my formal dress. A few of you have given me some hints as to what to wear.
We will be driving over from Gainesville on Friday and staying at a Courtyard Inn. We were going to stay at Disney that day, but decided since we are passholders and driving over anyway that we would save our excitement for the cruise. Courtyard Inn also is going to let us keep our car there, which would have cost $70.00 at the port. so for an extra $30 we get a hotel room.
Excitement overwhelming me, must DANCE
:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Okay- I need your help.
I have just moved here- I don't even know my new neighbors yet- have not exchanged a single word as of yet.
I know my near constant dancing must be annoying them- but hey- I gotta do it.
With three of us in the household boogieing about it is a constant rattle upon their heads i'm sure.
How should I handle this?
I know they must hear my whoops of delight.
They must have spotted my ever more frequent shopping excursions.
They have surely noticed that I have not home cooked a single meal in days. (who needs to eat- anticipation is my food)
Now I know that this may not be the right time to approach and introduce myself.
:teeth: Hi I'm Jeanne- I'm going on a CRUISE!!!! (and you're not! hehehe)
:teeth: Huh- what did you say- I was trying to remember where I put the duct tape.
:teeth: Hi- did I mention I was going on a DISNEY cruise? (and you're not)
:teeth: You got anything for my facial muscles? They hurt.
:teeth: WHOOOP_ YIPPEEE_ YEEEHAW_WOO HOOO
yikes- Did I say that out loud?? Sorry about that- ever hear of a disease called S.D.D.- it's not my fault. It's kind of like Tourettes- but more fun.
:teeth: Oh yeah- about the noise over your head....it's nothing, just dancing, hey it could be worse- we could be wrestlers right:teeth: Well it's a pleasure to meet you. Oh yeah...did I mention that I was going on a DISNEY Cruise NEXT SATURDAY!!!

HEHEHE- as in less then a week!!!

OMG- I gotta dance- NOOOOOOWWWWWWWW- later dis'ers!

:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :bounce: :bounce:

shoot- missed another chance to add at least ten posts to my count- sheesh- Sis talks often- I just talk on and on....lol

Okay Andy- to be honest i could have added this reply to the last one but I figured I earned another post to my count after that little rant! lol
I promise I will post and fill dis'ers on sorts of wines that massachusetts has to offer- ought to be interesting.
If my typing is bad- it is always bad- so you can't blame it on the wine- and I hate spell check- just slows down my ranting!
Seriously though- thank you all for putting up with my nonsense! It is wonderful to be able to share my excitiment with others who feel the same!
I say WOOO HOOOOO!!!!
Do I hear a second?
