May 3, 2003 - Magic Eastern Cruisers

Dear May 3rd Cruisers,

I just had Mary from the May 10th cruise ask me if I would try and capture some pics of the MAGIC in port on the day of her sailing. I had planned to do this next Saturday for you May 3rd Cruisers as well. If any of you would like me to send you an e-mail with the photo of the MAGIC in port or leaving the port, depending on the port camera angle, send your e-mail address to apwalters55@comcast.net and I would be happy to do that for you. Please make sure that you put your sail date down on your e-mail, so I send the correct photo.

My only request, is that someone would do the same for me, on August 23rd.

My Dniece was over last night, and I can't begin to tell you how excited she is to be going with us in August. I was on ebay yesterday, and I was able to be the top bidder by "one penny" and got her an Hawaiian shirt for tropical night. She still can't believe that I gave up our verandah stateroom, so that she could join us. Hey, it'a only a room, I'm still getting on the ship, that's all that matters to me.

My wife and I were offered the opportunity to stay in an unused room of the Walt Disney Suite on your May 3rd Cruise, by Matthew and Corinna. I know I was "NUTS" to turn the offer down, but we just had too many things going on here at home to accept their generous offer.

I have been "BLESSED" since joining the DISboards, with making lifelong lasting friendships. I'd just like to thank you one and all for being a part of that MAGICal feeling!!!

Andy

We will be joining the gang for the May 3rd, 2003 cruise also. This is our first cruise, so you can imagine the excitement. There will be four of us sailing. The wife our two sons, Will 2 and Richard 7 months, and I. We're Florida residents and also stumbled into the great fares when calling to "check" on the cost of a cruise vs. another trip to Jamaica.

I have arranged to rent a car in Sint Maarten. We are going to see the island then head over to Club Orient for an afternoon of fun and sun. We're also bringing our own snorkeling gear. Has anyone ever brought fishing gear on a cruise? Just a thought.

We can't wait for next Saturday the wife and I feel like kids again, waiting for that first trip to WDW. My first was 1971, time sure does fly. Hope to meet some of the people on this thread. Bill and Jess, Gainesville.

Been on this thread for hours now, I guess I've got the sickness. Anyway, I have read about green paint or ribbon that you wear to identify yourself as a DISer. Is that all there is to it? Thanks, Bill:bounce:

Ever since these Mickey paint stickers, chips, or whatever you want to call them, came out, they are the thing to get. You can find them at Home Depot in the paint department. I picked some up last Sunday. Was going to go there this morning, but it's raw and nasty here this morning, and DW just left to get her hair done and then food shopping. Will probably stop at Home Depot on Sunday on our way home from church. We just had a second Home Depot open in the area, now I have two places to look for lime green Mickeys.

Welcome aboard! We are the rockingest, fun lovingest, most excited group on these boards! Did you find the info for the dis meet after the muster on ship on Saturday? Just drop off your life jacket and head to the Promenade Lounge for a QUICK meeting- then we have the sail away party!! Bring your bubbles!!!!!
How about the wine tasting party on Monday? We are invited to the Walt Disney Suite for a wine party!!!!! Check it out! That is the largest, most luxurious suite on the saeas!! Cool eh?? We are each bringing some sort of wine to share. If you do bring wine try to print a small card saying what type of wine , where it is from and your name. Matthew And Corrina are the generous Dis'ers who have invited us!
glad you foiund us! Make sure to ask about any questions you have- the people here know everything!
I'd write more but I GOT TO DANCE!!!
Please read thread about New Cruise Illness Cited for more info.....

YIPPPPEEEEEEEEEE!!!! WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOO (who said that??)

Only 49 posts to go!!
Hey- 48 now!!

PS- I promise I will put at least one interesting fact or joke or question in each one! No ordinary run of the mill bumping for me.
I will earn my Veteran Status honorable and humbly.
:)

These moments leading up to departure date are unbelievable. We are living, breathing and eating DCL at the moment. We are thrilled to hear there are going to be other wine lovers on the boat! We will definately be at the wine tasting with our bottles in tow. Heading out shortly to get our green Mickey stickers from Home Depot. For now LETS DANCE! :bounce: :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :bounce: :Pinkbounc

OK Everybody!!!

I'm off to haul the luggage up from the basement.
I have been ironing ugh...(Barb a little sympathy please) and have picked up the last few essentials, I hope!

Heck if I don't have it now I'll buy it there! I've had the clothes piled neatly in my room for what seems like 6 months now. I wanted it all out so I could make sure I wasn't packing too much. I'm very pleased with myself if I do say so.

I'm still a little unsure of my formal dress, so I put the question to the ladies. I have a full length straight blue velvet dress, it has a little sparkly bead row across at the neck with spaghetti straps. I hesitate because I probably wouldn't wear velvet to a wedding in May so should I wear it on a cruise? I have a lovely alternative tee length pastel dress as well. I respect your opinions, tell it like it is girls!

Just Gotta Dance!!!!!:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

I am going to try to bring some medium sized American flags for the three of us to wave from the "camera side of the ship" - maybe if we all could get them, we'd be able to see ourselves when Andy takes the picture!!!!! Then again, maybe not!!! We are so small and the ship is sooooooo big!

Welcome to our new family from Gainesville!

If you want to be on the printable list, please send me your information - names, ages, dining time and any excursions.

I will wait til Monday to link it now that we have another DIS family going with us!!!!

Matthew and Corinna are already in Florida and I envy them soooo much!

I just wish Andy, Hazel and Angelina were coming with us this time though. So remember you are all invited to the "Andy and Rae 50th Birthday Show Cruise" in April 2005. I forgot the week -somewhere during the time that Andy's birthday (4/20) comes on.
Yes, we are going!!!!!!

Wonder if they would let me sleep on the couch!

Well, we just returned from the Home Depot with our Mickey tags. I can't believe that our first journey on a cruise ship is soo close. It makes it even more exciting that we will share this vacation with other Disney lovers. Bill and Jessie

Look forward to meeting you Moosysmom!!! My new countdown clock for the April 2005 cruise is now up and running.

Hello, hello!

We're delighted to say we'll also be on the May 3 Eastern Caribbean cruise! Wahoo! We've been lurking in this thread for a while now, and you all sound so friendy and inviting that we just had to come out of the woodwork and say hello! We'd love to meet you on the cruise. :)

We'll be cruising with friends (one of which is a contributor to both our WDW and DCL PassPorter guidebooks), and generally relaxing rather than working. Though, to be totally honest, we never really stop researching. But we're in desparate need of some downtime -- we've been so busy lately! This cruise is going to be GREAT!

Oh, allow us to introduce ourselves -- I'm Jennifer Watson (34) and he's Dave Marx (48). :) This will be my lucky seventh cruise (Dave's sixth cruise). We simply adore the Disney cruise. I noticed some of you mentioned that you have PassPorters (cool!) -- anyone who's seen that will know how nuts we are for DCL.

I hope you'll let us hang out with you -- we love to meet new people.

See you in less than a week! (Just think -- by this time next week we'll be cruising!)

Man oh Man, it goes from bad to worse, first I miss the wine tasting party in the Walt Disney Suite, I miss getting a chance to stay in the Walt Disney Suite with fellow cruisers Matthew, Corinna, and their lovely daughter, now I find out that Jennifer and Dave from "PassPorter" fame will be on this cruise, does my luck get any worse. I've been sitting here all day reading through my PassPorter book for the third time since receiving it two months ago, and I'm not just saying that either, I had e-mailed Rae earlier today and told her I was reading it. I watched the DCL Travel Channel episode on Friday for the 7th time since I recieved it from Jeanne434 last Friday.

Rae, just shoot me now and get it over with!!!

This is how my life goes, always a day late and a dollar short!!!

Jennifer and Dave, I'm sure you will be more than welcome to join the wine tasting party on Monday afternoon May 5th at 1:30pm in the Walt Disney Suite, you are sailing with a "GREAT" group of people. Have a "MAGICal" and "WONDERful" time "ONE and ALL!!!" And, I better get some good stories and great photos of this cruise.

My Best To You All,

Andy(Verandah Man--the honorary mascot of the May 3rd DCL Eastern)

NO- I am NOT just trying to gain Veteran Dis status- I'm not. I just wanted to say hello to our new fellow cruisers. Glad you have made yourself known before we sail. We are the greatest group if I do say so myself!
HOWEVER- BE WARNED! Each and everyone of us is suffering from S.D.D.- and it is highly contagious!
I'd explain but I gotta.......

DANCE!!!!!!!!!
