I know this has probably been discussed before (many times...) but we are thinking about the end of May after Memorial Day. What are your thoughts about crowd levels/wait times for Memorial Day weekend and the few days after. I've looked at the touring plans but I would like anecdotal information. Schools don't usually get out until June, so I would THINK the crowds would be pretty low. Your views???

This is also the week we're going, checking in on the 29th and staying til June 3rd. My daughter's last day of school is on the 2nd(we live in WV) so we're taking her out a few days early for our trip to hopefully miss some of the crowds. According to the Unoffical Guide, most of the days in that time frame are rated 8's. We've been in April when the days are rated 7's so I'm hoping it won't be much more crowded then that. Keeping my fingers crossed anyway. :crowded:

Hi,

I was told on an earlier thread Orlando schools get out mid May.

Gay Days starts right after Mem Day so that will bring crowds.

We are going down May 29 for 6 nites. First time in May. Not too worried about crowds, just hope its not too rainy.

herc.

We are also going the week of May 29-June 4. I don't know if I'm just noticing it more or if there are a lot of people going then. We're staying at POR.

My DW, 2-year old and I are going to be there May 30 to June 3.

I just looked and saw that Gay Days are May 30 to June 4. I hope it won't be too crowded!

Hello,

Just reading your posts. The times you are discussing is the most crowded ever because of Gay Day. The following is the normal Gay Day schedule where sometimes the parks get so crowded they stop letting people in. With well over 100,000 Gay men and women in town I would stay clear from these parks on these days if you are looking for less crowds:

Wednesday Night - May 31 - Pleasure island Meet & Greet for Gay Day
Thursday Day - June 1st - MGM
Thursday Night - Pleasure Island Gay Night
Friday Day - June - 2nd - Epcot
Saturday - June 2nd - GAY DAY - Magic Kingdom
Sunday - June 3rd - Universal Studios
Monday - June 4th - Animal Kingdom

Hopefully that helps! :grouphug:

Now you wouldn't be trying to scare people away would you? I've read to stay away for MK on Saturday b/c that is the biggest draw, but the impact on crowds is pretty low. Enjoy your trip

I would never try to scare anyone away. Gay, Straight, green, blue - I love people of each and every kind. I was just simply being honest - having attended many gay day weekend I know what it's like on our scheduled days. But By all means - if you can stand us please join us. Gay people are always looking for acceptance and you being there with us shows us just that. But definately you can expect well over 100,000 gay men and women attend during this week as it has been historically over the last 15th years - this year being the 16th.

I was just offering my knowledge being a Gay Day Participant - I would never want to scare anyone away - The More The Merrier!! And please wear Red!!!!!

xoxo

Actually Sinboy I was kidding too! I would love to stay for the fun and support gay pride, awareness, and acceptance but, our trip has to end at some point. Have fun with the 100,000+ red shirt wearing happy people!! :cool1:
