May 28, 2011 - 11 Night Mediterranean Sailing from Barcelona

I still haven't received our cruise docs, so I contacted my TA last night who gave me a FedEx tracking number as, unknown to me, they had been shipped on April 15th. It transpires that FedEx tried to deliver them on April 18th, but didn't leave a calling card or anything, so we knew nothing about it. They advise that didn't attempt to redeliver but instead sought a telephone number to contact me, whereupon on April 27th DCL told them to destroy the documents rather than give them my telephone number. To say I am livid would be an understatement. I have to wait until DCL's Documentation Dept open's at 9am EST to get this resolved.:mad::mad:

This happened to me last year, although docs were sent to the wrong country by mistake of DCL then destroyed. I complained to DCL and got new docs, then emailed customer services to express my dissapointment and to say it had cost me time and money to call fed ex & DCL (trans atlantic calls). Anyway I got an email apologising and $50 OBC. Hope you get this sorted!

Just a quick question. What is the average amount of money in Euros are people bringing with them? :confused3

We are also doing mostly private tours which will require payment in euros. Otherwise, we just figured out per day what we thought we would spend in port and hoping to use our Capital One card as much as possible too. If I have too many left over euros just means we will have to go back to Europe some time soon! :mickeyjum

Hi, mid-thirties here, also without kids! Are you coming to our DIS meet on embarkation day in the Promenade Lounge at 2.00 pm? Would be nice to meet up then! (That is, only if we still classify as your age :thumbsup2)

We are early 30s and no kids - looking forward to meeting you all! Planning to hang by the Adult Pool with BYO beverages:drinking1 :cool1:

That sounds like SO much fun...we're early 30s but with two small kiddos, but we're hoping (HOPING!) that the older one wants to go to the club so that we can join you in such fun relaxation at least at some point! (The little one will go to Flounders with no issues, fortunately!)

I'm up late finishing up our FE gifts -- having so much fun, too! Just a quick question about our FE 'guidelines' -- are we supposed to identify ourselves as the givers in some ways, or are gifts anonymous(e)? The general FE thread seemed to suggest that it could go either way depending on the group doing the FE.

:surfweb: getting excited. Embarkation day the weather forecast in Barcelona is now at 73 and partly sunny, Malta is forecast for 76 and sunny for our day there. Perfect temps for my personal taste, but maybe a bit cool topside for swimming? I assume the pools are heated and mostly screened from the wind for the kiddies. I wonder how the TA is going...

Perfect for us too. We have an 11-month-old, and living here in northern Europe he's not really been exposed to much heat and strong sun at all, so that kind of weather suits us perfectly.

Next Saturday is not getting here fast enough!!!!! :sad2: :hourglass

I can't wait to start doing some of this :beach: and some of this :hyper2: with my new friends on this :boat: and maybe some of this party: with ::MinnieMo pluto: :donald: and :smickey:

Come on 28 May......

Here are the name tags that I made. I made one for every adult on the roll call for which I actually had a first name. If you are on the roll call and have not provided me with names I have not made one for you.

Unfortunately I do not have a way to laminate them. They will fit in the little pocket that people have on their lanyards.

If anyone in our roll call would like one and your name is not listed on roll call, let me know and I will make one for you also.

Hi Cindy! I don't know if its just my computer, but I can't see the picture of the name tag.

I have another packing-related question (can you tell that I'm really getting ready here??!?). How warm (or cool) are the staterooms? I'm trying to decide whether to bring long-sleeve or short-sleeve pajamas for my kiddos. How much temperature control do we have of our own staterooms?

I don't remember if we had any control over it, but my daughter slept in shorts and a tank top, or nothing (she is 9). Our room was quite comfortable.

I guess it will also depend on if you have an inside or outside cabin.

Thanks Cindy for making the name tags. I'm getting so excited but still so much to do before we leave!!! :cool1:
