May 28, 2009 Wonder Cruise - Anyone Else?

We are still here too! I am relaxing in a quiet room while the kids and goofydad are in community hall. Ahhhhhh.......

The FE was a highlight for us too. We had a great time getting mail and handing it out!

Tammy,

How did your dd take to the surprise?

She loved it - we actually surprised her twice - once Sunday morning on the way to the airport, then again Thursday morning with the cruise. I can't believe we pulled it off.

Tammy,

She really looked like she was having a good time. And, by Sunday at breakfast, she looked really tired, so I know she had a good time. It was great meeting you. That's exciting that you booked for next year. I think I'll probably stick with Royal Caribbean. Since I don't have any children, I can get a longer cruise for the same money as a shorter Disney cruise. I enjoyed the Disney cruise and I'm glad we did it.

We spent a week in WDW too. Just got back last night.

The cruise was awesome! (Save for the icky weather). We missed the cruise meet thread meetup. DDs were exhausted. Out flight the evening before the cruise (thank goodness I always fly in the day before) was two hours late because of east coast weather, so we didn't get into MCO until 12:30. By the time we checked into the Hyatt MCO (another thing I am so glad I splurged on) and went to bed it was 2 a.m. Yikes!

Hi everyone!!!!! We got in a little after 10:00 PM last night. The kids were so sad to have to leave. DD actually broke down sobbing Saturday night as we were driving away from Hollywood Studios. We had a wonderful time both on the cruise and at WDW.

I'm starting my trip report so I hope you will check it out. Also if anyone else is posting one be sure and send me a link.

I haven't been able to get the photopass link to work yet. Still working on it.

It was so wonderful to get to meet those of you that we did. It made the trip that much more special. We had a blast doing the exchange as well!!!!

Can't wait to down load all my pictures tonight (I was to tired last night).

Hope you all had a wonderful trip as well and made it safely home!!!!!

We are still here at WDW until the 9th! The cruise was great other then the weather! Why don't we just post our pics on this thread?

LOVED the FE exchange! I had to giggle because my husband was coming out of our room with the stroller when someone was delivering a gift to our FE. I asked him he said hi, he said no because they took off running! Hahahaha!!

:lmao: That might have been me. I was delivering some and heard some movement so I left pronto.......I was so afraid of disturbing someone while they were trying to rest. I know DD was exhausted and needed a little down time each day (unusual for her, might have been the kids bonine or all the pool time).

We also had a great time! I enjoyed meeting everyone, especially our next door neighbors...goofydad and family! My kids LOVED all of their FE gifts and were so excited. This was our first cruise and we will certainly be back!

Robbie and I were talking about how we felt bad about all the noise we were making! I wonder if the surprise was too much for our kids because the boys seemed to be in overload!

You have a beautiful family and it was fun exchanging mail right away! We couldn't wait to do it either and you gave us a great excuse to start!

Great pictures!!!!! I'll try to get around to posting some this week. Very limited to what I can do here from work. Haven't even had time to get online at home. Your kiddos are so cute! Love the picture of them on deck.

So who else is missing being waited on and all your meals prepared, etc.?

Every evening DS says, "I miss Ralph."

Ralph was our server. He and Agnelo (our assistant server) did a fantastic job of taking care of us. Ralph would come by with the ketchup and make hidden Mickey's on the saucer for the kids fries. They loved it.

We had a great stateroom host as well. The first night we had a turtle towel animal. The 2nd night the kids thought we hadn't gotten one as there was not one on the bed, but it was hanging from a hanger on the divider, it was a monkey. Then the last night we got a dog wearing shades. DS had stopped and thanked Herbert for leaving the towel animals and told him how much he was enjoying finding a different one each night. So our last night he came and showed DS how to make them, they make it look really easy but I don't think I could do it.

So who else is missing all the wonderful service????

I am definitely missing the unlimited amount of food. Due to unforeseen circumstances I still haven't made it to the grocery store since we came home. I have been tied to our house because of maintenance issues. Hopefully I can make it there today. Ha!

I miss everyone getting a different meal that they wanted while I didn't have to cook 4 different things!

I'm missing the yummy drinks!! My dh and I were sitting at our town pool this past weekend basking in the only brief moments of sunshine we've had in Jersey since we got back and said "What's wrong with this picture??? Oh yeah... we need frozen drinks in our hands!"

I'm also missing eating like it didn't matter. Back home = back to no carbs!! Aaaaahhhh, it was nice while it lasted!!

Yep, Herbert our stateroom attendant was great! Our dining room service team was just okay. I think they were a new team and had not quite gotten their groove together yet.

I miss being on vacation, period. Being back home means running errands, cleaning, cooking, yard work, sporting events, etc. I came home to a family of baby birds who had made their home in my dryer vent!! :rotfl: So, I spent some time at the laundromat last week. What a way to get back into the swing of things. :confused3

I've been meaning to ask on here...Did anyone go to Adult Karaoke on the ship on Friday night? My husband and I sang and we had the BEST time!! It was so fun, but we were bummed because obviously we have no proof that we actually did it. It would have been great to have gotten a picture, but of course we have no pictures because we were by ourselves. I'm sure no one takes pictures of random people they don't know singing karaoke, right? :rotfl: So, if you just happened to take a picture of a random goofy couple singing karaoke on Friday night, let me know because it might be us and I'd love a copy! Long shot, I know :rotfl2:

What was your favorite show?

We went to all three with the last one, Disney Dreams, being my favorite. If we go again and it's the same shows running I'd skip the first two. DD did get interviewed on the red carpet and I enjoyed the clips but overall I didn't think it was great.

Who else stayed up and watched the 12:01 showing of UP???? We were so tired.

I'd say that Disney Dreams was my favorite, too. I enjoyed the others, but I really liked the last one.

We didn't stay up to see "Up" at midnight, but we saw it on Friday. It's great, isn't it?

We saw "Hannah Montana" on Saturday afternoon. I didn't think I'd ever see that, but it was actually okay.

We liked UP. I have to admit though I was crying within 10 minutes of the movie. Lost my mom in January so it kind of really choked me up a bit. Especially since we had tried to get my dad to come with us this trip and he didn't want to.....made me think of him at home alone (he wasn't really, my brother & sister are nearby). I do want to see it again though as we were so tired there are parts I think I dozed through.

That's the only movie we watched on board. There were just way to many things to do. DS was always conflicted with wheter he wanted to stay in the club or go watch the show. DD on the other hand wasn't crazy about the club and didn't particularly care to go back after the first night.
