Jed,

I love your smileys. Tell hubby to keep up the good work.

Chall,

At the 70's night we went to there were only a few couples in the club and the band members were the only ones dressed up. Although, they had a hysterical lip synch contest with some of the couples. They had to do Gloria Gaynor and ????????? with props and dance moves. OMG :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Wccruiser, We'll dance with you. :bride: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :rockband: :rockband: :jumping3: :jumping2:

Pocono

I just realized that I signed up for all the drinking events. Oh wait a minute - were there any non-drinking events. :cool1: This is going to be a great cruise. No need for a "designated driver".

On Cabo Wabo - We have a co-worker that would actually be SOOOO disapointed if we don't make it there. He is such an avid fan, that he owned the cabowabo web site and SOLD it to Sammy!

PS Grammie I am sorry about not be able to fit into the Mean Green Dancin Machine, I gained weight and grew out my beard trying to get on Survivor as Mall Santa, I have dropped twenty pounds but I believe the leisure suit will have to go to goodwill. But I am still bringing the Lime Green speedos, they are so small I have room for them in our luggage and they are so streachy, and just for you I have bought lots of neon green bikini briefs to wear under my white shorts. :)
The Man

OOOOOO, be still my heart! There is nothing sexier than a man in white shorts unless it's one with an "undie line". Ohhhhhh and an a green undie line. I may just :faint: :faint: :faint: dead away!

Hi All-

Susie and Jedisan....Yes, I like wine, beer, champagne AND mixed drinks too ..and signed up for all the boozing events...but really...I don't have a problem!:rotfl: Like you said...we're on vacation!! We can clink our glasses as we pass in the halls!

Jedisan- Thanks to you and hubby for the great list once again!:worship:

Thanks to all who are doc dancing with me!
:jumping1:

And speaking of dancing....besides champagne and wine...my other fave! Am really hoping me and hubby get to make the 70's or 80's dance party..Not that I wouldn't like the 60's, but for dancing I like the other two eras better. We probably wouldn't dress up for it (we want to keep the suitcases to a minimum) though. Now my DH is a great guy. He will dance, but is not a crazy loon about it like I am, so if the situation arose, and it was a good dance night and Grace was not ensconsed in the kid's club at that particular time..he probably wouldn't mind staying with her in our cabin with his pipe and a good book and let me go off to have some dancin' fun! I would definitely not go alone unless one or some of you all were there, so I will definitely be checking in to see who's gonna be dancing!! :dancer: :rockband:

I've got some great CD's I've compiled...but are there CD players in the cabins? Just want to know if I should even bother to bring them.

John AKA The Man--- I'd be happy to give your nectar of the gods a good try...I have bad memories of nasty Bud keg parties with boys too eager to hand me another one! I've actually not had a beer in about 20 years. Thank you so much for brewing for the cruise as I know it takes alot of work!

The Man, G.G.G. and I tried to raise her better. Bud - the only beer brewed through a horse and the only one you can order while "hurling" as in "I'll have another Buuuuuuud"!

Will it be there if I wash my hands in someone elses' bathroom or will it just disappear???? :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

So there are a lot of us Bubbleheads and Winos. So everyone is bringing a bottle, correct?

I'll be bringing a bottle of my favorite french champagne Veuve Clicquot and I'll have to figure out what type of wine I'll bring. Are most people red or white wine drinkers? Are we sharing (tasting) or doing more of a BYOB?

Getting close now!! :cool1:

I think everyone is bringing a bottle to each event to share or drink. Which got me thinking... :scratchin (I can hear my husband say "there you go thinking again") :scratchin ...that means we will have two really big parties and each of us will :drinking1 a bottle of wine and none of us will remember a thing   :faint: :scared: (and be subject to some scandalous blackmail from jealous non-DIS cruisers with cameras :earseek: ).

............................................................

So, what if we have "cocktail" hour before early dinner on the casual nights? That way, we could have 4 or 5 parties instead of 2? We could have a couple of bottles of champagne and a couple of bottles of wine each night or 2 champagne nights and 2 wine nights (maybe one night red and one night white). What do you think??????

Hi Gail,
That sounds good to me.

I was also thinking of bringing a wine stopper and a champagne bubble keeper (don't know what the formal name is :-) So we can always have a glass or two and save the rest of our bottle :flower:

It might be hard to get together with everyone having different dining times?? The late seating will be at dinner from 8-10 or so??

:sunny: Hot Tip #5 - Beer drinkers take note: If you purchase a refillable mug at the start of the cruise, you will be entitled to discount suds for the duration of your stay aboard the Disney Wonder or Disney Magic. (You must have the mug with you to get the discount)

Recap of the weeks hot tips...

#1 - The midship elevators are the most crowded throughout the day, but especially at mealtimes. Try to use the forward and aft elevators as often as possible.

#2 - You may bring your own (unopened) bottle of wine to dinner. A $15 corking fee will be charged to your shipboard account for each bottle that was not purchased on board.

#3 - To avoid being charged, you must cancel a Palo reservation by noon for a brunch or tea, and by 4pm for dinner on the day of the reservation.

#4 - At table-service restaurants, a 15% gratuity is automatically added to the bill for alcoholic beverages. At bars and lounges, a gratuity is added for carbinated soft drinks too.

:sunny: BONUS FRIDAY HOT TIP :sunny: - If you or a member of your party misplaces a Key to the World card while onboard, head to the Guest Services desk on Deck 3. They can issue a new one (free of charge).

This has quickly turned into a Booze Cruise. :drinking1 :boat:  :faint: :upsidedow

Has anyone else decided they are crazy  enough to stand close to the boat place with us at the CRACK of dawn to welcome the boat?

Moley, we are thinking of you and your DH today. I hope all goes well with the angiogram. :grouphug: :grouphug:

Let's all send Moley and her DH our positive thoughts, prayers, kharma, vibes, whatever we can.

Now I have a ton of stuff to catch up on

528 Cruiser - Thanks for the journal link. I'll print that out for Mattie & Sammy.

Poconoboatniks - I hope my DH will convert to a Disney fan like yours did. Mark enjoys our Disney vacations but doesn't LOVE them like I do.

The Man - Glad that the lime green Speedo will be coming.

MinnieMoms - We're glad you found this thread.

GrammieGail - I hope DH's ankle is all better before the Bay to Breakers or at least before the cruise. I grew up in San Francisco so I used to head to Golden Gate Park every year to watch the race/show. Have fun. :) And I think you should have a toast for both the hysterectomy and the gall bladder surgery. You deserve it.

Jedisan - Is the Shrimp House within walking distance of the port? I love shrimp. Thanks for the great list. If you do an update, you can add "early" to our entry.

Brandy & Sandy - My DH said that Sammy thought long and hard to come up with a Mother's Day present that I would like and I would share with him. I did share so his plan worked. :)

Brandy - I hadn't realized your DH was all the way in GA. I know you and he are extra excited about this cruise.

Chris - What a clever idea to print out the kids pictures. Mattie & Sammy will be thrilled to have some pirate tattoos. Thanks for the prayer for Sammy.

Margaret - That is so sweet that Grace shared her scooter spill instead of losing Sassy. I bet the teacher had really thought out what she should say. I love to dance. My DH does not dance unless he's had quite a bit to drink. So, maybe we can all head out to dance one night.

The pirate party sounds like so much fun. My kids tend to go to bed fairly early. If they are up for it, we'll be there.

For those of you with younger kids, are we still doing the postcard exchange? If so, how many postcards were you going to bring? I was thinking that we'd be set if each of my kids brought 20 postcards.

Hi Sue and GrammieGail-

While I like GrammieGail's idea of a Dis "cocktail hour" before early seating, I thought the wine thing was going to be a tasting...meaning we all bring one bottle to share from our home state. Everyone would sample the ones that interest them. The champagne get together, I just figured it was BYOB and I believe it was Susie or Jedisan that had purchased some snacks. That would be two separate wing-dings. It's just a matter of picking times and days (which sounds terribly hard) with everyone's different dining times. I was thinking the "at sea" days would probably be best.
As for the "cocktail hour" we could have a standing "just meet for cocktails" at one of the bars (and everyone can just purchase their cocktail, or bring one from their cabin) every evening like Grammie Gail suggested, before the early dining. That way, if you miss one, there'll always be one the next night.
What do you all think?:chat:
