Challada - I KNOW! I've been dying to see what the drinks of the day are going to be! Did you look at that link from a couple of days ago? The guy with the 400 pictures? On there he had a picture of a pretty red, orange and yellow drink (looks like maybe a Tequilla Sunrise) in a Disney Cruise Line hurrican glass. That picture is now my wallpaper for my computer. Helping my daydreams along. He has one other cool picture from Castaway Cay of a pina colada (my fave lately) and some sandals in the sand underneath a bech chair or hammock. Under the picture he had captioned "This just says VACATION to me." No kidding. I can't WAIT! :boat:
Grammiegail-You're grandmothers life sounds like it was very interesting and rich. Your mom's too. Glad to see that you and Challada are keeping with tradition! And thanks for the drink recommendations. :drinking: :drinking1 :drinking: :drinking1 :drinking:

Hot Tip #4 :sunny: - At table-service restaurants, a 15 percent gratuity is automatically added to the bill for alcoholic beverages. At bars and lounges, a gratuity is added for carbinated soft drinks too.

And here is the link to the picture page for anyone who missed it and was interested. http://www.sinknet.net/gallery/dcruise2005 You can click on the highlights or go through their cruise day by day.

I did notice the drinks Brandy...hmmmm...we are thinking alike again! FYI, I don't know if everyone knows this, but the extra bonus of the "drink of the day" is that you get to KEEP the glass...what a great way to get a souvenir...and my hubby will love the new "glassware" w/the DCL logo all over it!

I had another tip I thought of in the shower and now can't remember it...my best thinking is in the shower...too bad I just can't hang out there all day!

Oh yea...I remember....FYI, if you are into the pin trading at all, Walgreens has Energizer 8 packs of AA on sale this week for 3.99 and they have a DISNEY pin in the pack (you can see it right at the front)...there are 5 different pins according to the flier inside the batteries, but my tiny Walgreens only had one pack w/one pin so I'm stuck w/that one. :earboy2:

John AKA The Man--- I'd be happy to give your nectar of the gods a good try...I have bad memories of nasty Bud keg parties with boys too eager to hand me another one! I've actually not had a beer in about 20 years. Thank you so much for brewing for the cruise as I know it takes alot of work!

Count us in for the Bubblehead and Wino get togethers. Maybe we can also order room service and get the All Hands on Deck cheese platter. I haven't had it, but many people on these boards have said they've ordered it and loved it. Sorry to disappoint The Man, but we will have to pass on your special concoction. More for you to enjoy!

For all those with little kids, are any of you bringing pillowcases for the characters to sign? I know that alot of people have done it and it makes a great souvenir for the kids.

I also found this link of journals for kids to complete while on the trip. There's a few of them that relate specifically to the cruise on page 4. Check it out at http://www.themouseforless.com/journal/journal.shtml.

Hi everyone, I'll try to respond to all the questions:

The Man - I have been avoiding beer for the last year (too many carbs) but Mark and I will definitely try your good stuff!! Nothing like an ice cold home brewed beer!! I'm on vacation!! The lime green speedo is somthing I've GOT to see. :rotfl: I think wearing lime green underwear under white shorts makes a fabulous fashion statement - go for it! ;) We will cheer you on!

I think the All Hands on Deck Cheese Platter sound PERFECT for both the wine and Champagne get togethers!

We aren't bringing pillowcases but we are bringing photo mats to have them signed. I guess I just can't visualize the pillowcase thing? Would they come off when they are washed?

ohh, the Tequila Sunrise comment made my stomach turn :rotfl: I'll have to tell you guys about the last time I had one of them at our champagne party. Painful just remembering it. Ah, the stupidity of youth :rotfl2:

Gail, I love the wine, club soda and lime idea. That sounds great!! And not too many carbs ;)

Gotta run out to lunch with a friend!! Talk with everyone later!!

I am sure most of you know this already, but each nite in the adult dance club there will be a theme, one night is 70's, another night is 80's and I forget what the others are... the reason I mention this is that someone a few messages back asked about bringing 70's clothes... :cool1:
:dancer:

The Man and Beer: Curt and I would like to try your beer also, especially since we are homebrewers also. Actually, he does most of the brewing, but I have done a couple of batches on my own. We both are members of San Diego's fabulous brew club QUAFF, winners of the National Homebrew Club of the Year award for four years running! Curt's taken the classes to be a judge also.

These are our excursions:
Puerta Vallarta: Canopy Adventure (8:15am)
Mazatlan: Randi's Happy Horses in morning
Cabo: Sea Kayaking (9:20am) and if there is still time a visit to the famous (infamous?) Cabo Wabo Cantina

Brandy, a party in your room sounds great if we can get changed to early dining (I'm waitlisted). What type of room do you have? I hope it is big ;)

The room is a Cat 3 / 1 bedroom with verandah... #8078 on Deck 8 ...
it will probably be the only one with a gaudy LIME GREEN door :rotfl:
The room size should be ok and if we get to be too many, we can relocate to the deck.

528Cruiser: ... are you bringing a cheese platter? that sounds great.. I can order more cheese and some fruit too... I'll figure that out once we are in our rooms.

Grammiegail... PLEASE bring your wine corker thing

TheMan... You sound like the life of the party... I've got my camera ready for the lime green speedo thru the white slacks... :rotfl2: ...Now don't disapoint us.

Does anyone know if room service will bring glasses for the drinks? If not, I will bring some plastic cups...

This is gonna be so much fun :drinking::Pinkbounc:drinking: :love1: :drinking::banana::drinking: :drinking::hyper2::drinking:

528 Thanks so much for the link for the journal! I have been looking for one for the kids, and found little. This is awesome, and I can just run up to Kinko's and have it bound.

It would be easier if we just call room service and order the cheese platter from the room where we're having this get together and have them deliver it directly as opposed to me lugging a plate of food and carrying it around a few flights of stairs. Dont' want to trip and have cheese all over my face!

Since room service is free, we can order as many as we need depending on the number of people attending. If we change to an outdoor location, we can have them deliver it there too.

I need to give kudos to my DH who has been keeping up this list. Great job Honey! (I added myself to the "wino" club as well). I actually enjoy it all: wine :drinking1, beer :drinking1 , champagne :drinking1 , mixed drinks :drinking1 - just not at the same time. :rotfl2: :crazy2:

If anything's missing, please post your updates.

Jedi, add me to the "Scoops" confirmed list too please, also, whay does it say "(late)" next to my name? You all can also add my girlfriend Sheryl :earsgirl: (35) if you like...

Sandy, I have hosted a few get-togethers in my suite in the past, and they can either do "free stuff" or for a small fee they will actually put together hot or cold platters... i'd happily chip-in on that if you would like... also, if the crowd gets too big in your room, :crowded: we have a cat. 3 right down the hall in 8086... unless our upgrade to cat. 2 comes through... lol... then we can fit even more....! :thewave:

Anyone know what page the matrix I gave you all was on? I can't find my written copy and i can't seem to locate it on here... :-( I lost my own message! LOL...

Jedisan - Please ADD RocknTy to the suite party :drinking1 We also have a Cat3 (8534 mid-ship) so if we overflow we can just stumble down the hall. :jumping1:

Plus some folks wanted to see what that configuration looks like and we are happy to give a tour that night as well.

Really great that you have helped us become so organized. I love reading the posts every day and we are looking forward to meeting everyone at the various events.

Now back to work before my CEO gets on my case.
