May 28, 2005 Mexican Riviera

Ok, I have crossed the line. Just ordered lime green beefy T's and some iron on printer supplies to make up our shirts. My wife and son will be very suprised :rotfl2:

 Not sure what to put on them, probably our first names, our disname, some favorite characters and an outline of the ship.

I had to laugh when I saw the link to the lime green purse. But if your really in that kind of mood you will get a kick out of this http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/601-0946816-5237759?_encoding=UTF8&frombrowse=1&asin=B0007R6RRG

Things are gettinge exciting for us having nailed down our Disneyland trip before the cruise. We have worked out a nice three day schedule. Very excited to see the park all done up in 50th. Looking forward to seeing the new parades, fireworks etc. My son might even behave.

I am so happy to hear there is such a large group on the ship. I know thats going to make it extra fun.

Okay so Jedisan and Gail are game for Champagne. How about we each plan to bring a bottle of our favorite and order a Cheese/fruit platter. If the kids are in the Club we can do it in our tiny room, or we can find another place to do it once we board? I guess we could as Guest Relations??
Me too. There is always the aft 7 Verandah. There never seems to be anyone out there.

Walmart has lime green t-shirts for $3 for the boys and I got The Man one for $5 also. Got myself a lime green tank for $4; Walmart rocked for me yesterday.

For those at the Sheraton, we were thinking breakfast around 9 and then heading over to port around 10.

Chris, Bob and Gail - we will do our best to make Grand Californian by 3 (I forgot that we are now on the same time so 3 may be pushing it a little but we should be there close to 3). We will be bringing our bottle of champagne from the hotel for on the ship meets.

ssnyder's response to yesterday's trivia was (sorry!) not correct; if anyone else might care to guess?

If this isn't fun or interesting for y'all I'm going to gracefully retire and just go back to trip planning :confused3

So, I think we have some other Champagne Drinkers like myself onboard?? I was thinking about having a little Champagne reception somewhere?? I am a big Vueve Clicquot fan (Costco for around $30 buck). I'm thinking of bringing a couple of bottles with me on board. Anybody up for bringing a bottle of their favorite and having a little Champagne party with me either one afternoon or before dinner one day when the kids are in the club?? Maybe order some cheese and fruit platters from room service? Any takers?

Count me in!!:)

Gentlemen we have beer!!!!, the mash is done, the wort is boiling the first hops put in, in 30 min I will add the yeast and little pixie dust. I just have to wait for three weeks and start bottling those 2-ltr bottles. :)

I am on the July 2nd cruise and have been following your thread trying to gather information about the West Coast Cruises. I am searched and searched but can no longer find where someone's documents listed port times. Would you please restate those times? TIA

Also if anyone is doing the Los Veranos Canopy tour on their own in PV would you please report back how you arranged transportation to the pick up point?

I am so excited for your trip and eagerly await a trip report in early June.

Have a great time.

Darcy

Rebecca-
You had me wondering, so I looked it up and found it was "Mine Train thru Nature's Wonderland" but before that the ride was know as "Rainbow Caverns Mine Train"

Thanks for doing the trivia stuff while you did...you are wonderful!

Gail-No rush to Grand Californian....we'll be there!

We believe the answer is Rainbow Caverns Mine Train ride (opened in June 1956).

How about a new idea: daily hidden mickeys to look for on the ship (some easier than others)....here's the first one:

In the family pool (goofy pool), check the drain gutter (or drain cover). ::MickeyMo

Chris, you sneaked one by me I should answered the question first instead of beating my manly chest. :) I know there are hidden Mickeys on the ship already, wonder if anyone has a list?
The Man
ps The wort is in the fermentor, the yeast has been properly given beer and drugs, Barry White is playing in the background, the temp is right and lights are out. Now we have to wait for those romantic little devils to start fooling around. :)

Hey Gang;

I have kind of been following this thread and it appears that you have a good group that is ready for some good times on the Magic! It's fun to read how excited all of you are. But there is a "downer" side of reading this too: it means I HAVE TO GET OFF THE SHIP when it gets to California! Darn. We'll try and leave that beautiful ship in mint condition for all of you taking the first west coast cruise.

Just wanted to say hello to all of you. I will be posting each day, probably a couple of times, from the ship as it makes it's journey to pick you up. Let me know if you have any questions or requests while I'm on board and I'll do my best!
Jim

Jim- Welcome aboard, even if you are aboard a the two weeks before us! I'm sure we will want to know WHAT THE THEME NIGHTS ARE for your cruise as it will reflect what ours could be!

John...sounds down right romantic in that hops, Gail better watch out!
(fyi, I do have a list of the hidden mickeys from the hiddenmickey website, so I was going to post the good ones daily so we can all search for them when we are on board....there are 28 official hidden mickeys on board)...

Everyone game to the hidden mickey idea (if you don't want to know the hints before you board, skip my daily post)?

So I have been off the board's for a few days but got all excited when I saw the trivia question about Thunder Mountain because I actually knew the answer. :cool1: By pure luck, the Sacramento Bee has a big article about Disneyland's 50th in the paper today. The Rainbow Caverns Mine Train was talked about in the article. I remember going on that on my first trip to Disneyland. I was about five and I just have this vision of a coyote or something balancing high up on a rock. But has it turns out, someone already got the answer. Well I will keep trying.

I haven't been checking the board because I was out of town doing some cruise shopping. Even got some lime green clothes. Sure does help that lime green is an in color this season. We are counting the days. It's hard to believe that May is finally here.

We got our documents the other day. :cheer2: :cheer2: They say that we can board at 1 pm but see alot of people going to the port earlier. How earlier should we be there?

About the meet at Scoops...I still want to meet everyone but if we could still have the girls meet before that would be great. My daughter Madison can be pretty shy and I just know with 90 people she may be too overwhelmed. We have a good group of 5 year old girls. Is everyone planning on putting them in the 5-7 year old group?

Sorry for going on and on. You're all a great group and I look forward to meeting everyone.

Hi Darcy!

The terminal opens at 10:00 a.m. on Saturdays.

I've been following other threads, too. It is amazing what can be gleaned from everyone planning for the same thing on so little info supplied by DCL. Hope we can be of some help as our own cruise unfolds and the first personal navigators for this itinerary emerge.

Have fun planning your happy sailing! :earsboy:

Hi Jodi,

I plan on putting Grace in the 3-4 yr old group first, then if she gets bored, moving her up to the 5-7 yr old group. We looked over some navigators together and she was mostly interested in all the princess stuff . If all the 5 yr old girls from this Dis group are in the older group though, she may want to change. But either way, I'd rather move her up, than down.
I think most of us with the younger kids plan on meeting at the pool before the 3pm Scoops meet if you're interested.:cutie:
Congrats on getting your documents.:jumping1: ..is there anyone out there besides me who hasn't gotten them yet??? :rolleyes1 :worried: (at least we did get Grace's passport in the mail on Saturday).

Jim, thank you! That is a lovely offer. You Westbound folks sure are an enthusiastic and friendly crowd.

I think I'll be watching your posts eagerly that last week as you stop at all of our ports of call of Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan and Cabo.

Please let us know any hidden treasure shopping and eating sites in those ports. I think many of us may be doing sightseeing on our own and would be interested in word of mouth recommendations. Again, thank you, and pleasant sailing! :sunny:

At Disneyland, in Frontierland, the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad sits on the site of what previous attraction?

Was it the pack mules? AND NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, don't retire. This is my favorite part of the day. My mom and I LIVE for the trivia questions. We were just out all day yesterday and today. I realized something wonderful last night. I was driving along :moped: as the sun was setting :sunny: , and I realized :scratchin that just four short weeks from last night, we would all be sailing away, pina coladas in hand, :drinking1 having a party :rockband: on the very first ever Disney West Coast Cruise!! :fish: :hyper: AAAAHHHH! :hyper:  :cool1:  :Pinkbounc :bounce:
