May 28, 2005 Mexican Riviera

Sandysplayhouse's computer is freaking out and she asked me to type this for her. She knows the answer. The air date was October 1955.

rccllap and ssnyder... I first booked this zip line thing and THEN told my husband... he is a Retired Marine First Sargeant... he hemmed and hawed and told me that he didn't think I could do it and that I might want to reconsider NOT doing it... which only made me more determined to do it... besides, it is a ONCE in a lifetime thing... I don't plan on doing it again, and I had better do it now while I still CAN. Then I turned it around on him and issued a direct challenge to him... I told him that he didn't have to do it if he was afraid that perhaps HE was too OLD!... So the zip line challenge is ON in our house of mouse.:rotfl:

The answer to the question of the day:
October 1955

You're missing one key element to that date :earsboy: If Sandy gets that in, full credit to her for the day!

:bounce: :bounce: :earseek: So, once into my packet of docs I found out we got a East Coast "travel Passport"! Is anyone else as upset as I am??? :earseek: We spend as much on our cruise as anyone else, and why didn't we get a Mexican Riviera Passport? Are you telling me, Disney doesn't know if it's going to have success on this side of the country, so they're not "wasting" printing money to upgrade our docs!! :bounce: I am steamed about this! They put in a little 8 1/2 X 11 sheet of "details" for the port ect...and think that is sufice for a trial basis!! Not a good way to start off the cruise! I am not impressed so far, and I am a first time cruiser!

Here's hoping things are going to get better from here!
We're almost there :hourglass

Do you mean the little book that says "The Passport to Disney Magic"? It has the picture of people getting on the ship? I know, it has stuff about Cast Away Cay and stuff like that. We should have gotten a "special 50 anniversary first time west coast" type of thing.

Feeling jipped too,

Oh man! I forgot to tell you guys. I had a horrible dream last night. My whole family arrives at the dock to get on the Magic. We were all excited because we were first in line. As we're standing around waiting, I realized I had forgotten my video camera and ALL of us had forgotten regular cameras. And now it was time to board. So I rush around looking for cameras and film. I return to the dock just in time..to see it pulling away without me!!! I was frantic and didn't know what to do. I yelled and yelled for them to stop. I looked around and considered jumping in and swimming after it. But luckily, there was suddenly someone in one of the yellow life boats to take me to the ship, and I was then on my way. I can't believe the nightmares have started already. I have 5 more weeks to look forward to. I think the sight of "the list" is what triggered this dream. Just KNOWING I will forget something. And the cameras would be the most devestating to me. Not only is it going to be our anniversary on the cruise, but I am into scrapbooking and have been looking forward to playing with these cruise pictures for months now. *whew* Anyway, just needed to share. I'd be interested in any other dreams people are having. We could make a game out of it. Ha ha.

Way to go Sandysplayhouse!

-------------------------------
The popular first version ran for four years, from 1955 to 1959. The show has had two memorable comebacks, first in 1977 and again in 1989. The 1989 cast has given us such breakouts as Christina Aguliera, Britney Spears, and Justin Timberlake. (Lucky us.)

Original Mouseketeers were: Jimmie Dodd, Roy Williams, Darlene Gillespie, Carl "Cubby" O'Brien, Annette Funicello, Tommy Cole, Sharon Baird, Doreen Tracey, Lonnie Burr, Bobby Burgess, and Karen Pendleton.

Jimmie Dodd also wrote the "Mickey Mouse Club March."

OMG, I've been having anxiety dreams about the cruise for weeks now and I thought I was so weird for it! In my case I'm sure it's deflected stress from dealing with school and being as sick as I've been (the flu, yuck). I had another doozy just the other night, involving being left behind in Mexico at one of the ports.

So, dream on! You know it won't happen if you dream about if beforehand right? :goodvibes (changing a southern superstition by the way)

Still no documents here. When y'all are talking about passport for the Eastern cruise, do you mean like those coupons and stuff that sometimes the cruise lines give out to get you to buy certain things from sponsors?

With all the publicity that Disney is getting for this cruise it's amazing they're not planning more West Coast ventures, but I've got the newest cruise book and all the dates for 2006 + are their standard East/West/Bahamas. Bummer. It's funny to me that they're (DCL) talking about how this cruise is reaching a whole 'new' set of potential cruisers on that coast, when I honestly think so many people who are going to cruise will go to where the ship is. I'm coming from the East Coast for example and I'm not the only one. Although I do realize there is at least one poster on this board who made the choice partly because it's on the right coast for them at the right time.

Getting close to only a month to go!! Whoohoo!

peace--
Rebecca

No, I didn't get any coupon things. And I'm not sure if mommyuf3 and I are talking about the same thing, but mine is just a long skinny book, brochure looking, and inside the table of contents includes Immigration Information/ Customs Allowance/ What to pack/ What not to pack/ Baggage and ground transfers/ Airport hotel pre-night/ Resort Check-in/ Resort Departure/ Directions to Port Canaveral/ Terminal Check-In/ Key to the World card/ Boarding the ship/ Welcome aboard/ Information Resources/ Home Away From Home/ Ship Phone Number/ Health Center/ Onboard Dining/ Gratuities/ Onboard Entertainment/ Onboard Recreation/ Onboard Shopping/ Youth Activities/ Nursery/ Castaway Cay/ Castaway Cay Services/ Disembarkation/ Sharing The Magic/ Disney Wildlife Conservation Fund.

:rotfl2: Enchanted...I did get the skinny-tall booklet-"Passport" which is about the "East Coast" cruisers...DCL must not think this is going to be a big hit. I agree that most of us, will go where the boat is...not just to Florida. But I am LOL :rotfl: as we still only half of our Docs...and we got an add for the Disney Credit card today! 1st we already have one...and 2nd we think they are just teasing us, not sending the docs, but sending Disney MUST OPEN mail!! haha!

Still doing the count down! Just wish DCL would seem as excited as we are about this West Coast!! :cheer2:

I know. They're being mean to us not giving us special west coast books, and not telling us specifics on the theme nights. Is anyone going to bring "piratey" wear? pirate: I also read that there is a tropical themed deck party the first day :cool1: and there could be a 50's, 60, 70's and/or 80's night!?!?!? HOW are we supposed to be prepared and still only bring 2 suit cases! Why do you hate me Disney!?!?I've done nothing but love you! :sad2:

Break out the :rockband: 'cuz challada got our docs yesterday just 15 minutes after we left to fly back home. So, here comes the challada and Grammiegail doc dance....
:thewave: :jumping1: :cool1:  :cool1:  :cheer2: :dancer: :cool1: :dancer: :cool1: :dancer: :cheer2:  :cool1:  :cool1: :jumping1: :thewave:

She would have written herself, but the day before the docs arrived she came down with a really bad case of the creeping crud.....sore throat, high fever, chills that has now progressed to bad stuff coming out of her body at a variety of places. She's trying to be excited, but is hampered right now.....so we'll just have to be happy for her!

YAY grammiegail and challada!!! Oooua ooooua!! :cool1:  :cool1:  Challada I hope you feel better soon. It's messed up that everyone has been getting sick lately, but at LEAST it's happening before the cruise. Try to look at the bright side. :sunny: I hope were all well for our big week!

Disneyland Alters Ride After Boy Is Injured

ANAHEIM (LA Times) – Disneyland has made state-ordered adjustments to its Storybook Land Canal Boats and reopened the attraction Friday, two days after a 4-year-old severed the tip of his thumb on the ride. The boy, who had gripped the edge of the boat when it docked, was injured when an adult stepped on the edge of the boat while disembarking, causing it to rock and pinching the boy's thumb between the dock and boat, said Dean Fryer, spokesman for the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health.

~This is why they always announce "Keep your hands and arms inside the boat at ALL times." Poor kid. He'll be traumatized for life now.

HEY Challada & Grammie,

We're doc dancin' with ya!!!!!!! :Pinkbounc  :Pinkbounc  :Pinkbounc  :Pinkbounc  :Pinkbounc  :Pinkbounc :cheer2: :cheer2:

Challada here's some pixie dust to make you fell better. :wizard:

Grammiegail, please send challada all our best wishes for a speedy recovery! I'm coughing out the crud myself (and darn well BETTER be done soon) so I know how she feels!

Poor kid at Disneyland--he will be traumatized for life, poor thing, but not for remembering it himself, by having all this media frenzy and of course the missing tip of his thumb!

hope y'all have a marvy day and just think, one month from tomorrow!!

peace--
