May 27th 2007 Wonder Cruise. Anyone else on it?

Hey Everyone!
It has been awhile since I have checked this thread - didn't want to get too excited too far out! I noticed that we have lots of GA and AL travelers this trip! We are actually huge Bulldogs - live about a mile from campus! We DO "admire" thoses War Eagles - DGS 8 1/2 even knows the Auburn fight song and will sing it at the drop of a hat!
As far as where we are staying the night before sailing - we discovered a great way to save lots of money - on the drive down, we stopped at the FLA Welcome Center just over the state line on I-95 and picked up a big coupon book for hotels and restaurants in the state. As we drove, we picked out several places and at the first place we hit the jackpot! The Holiday Inn at Daytona Beach, normally $125 a night, sold us a room fro 1/2 price! It is right off the interstate and across the street from the Daytona Speedway - quite a site to behold. It only took us a little over an hour to get to the Port from there. Just wanted to "throw" that out there for those who are driving down I-95.
DGS also watched a program about the new water park at the Atlantis and is sooooo excited that he might get to go. Does anyone have any updated info on whether they will sell a day pass to the pools, water park without renting a room at the hotel?? I believe something was mentioned in another thread about a decision being made soon about that. I went to the Comfort Suites site in Nassau and the room rate there is $150....Any updated details would be greatly appreciated!
See you all in a little over 2 months!

So it sounds like there is a glitch in the reservation system then. How would I reserve under dh's name. Would I have to register him on the disney site?:confused3

I'm sooo happy! They opened up AP rates at the Poly so we switched from the GF over to the Poly for three nights after the cruise. The girls will think we're driving home, but instead we'll pull up to the Poly! They are gonna FLIP!!! I hope they fall asleep in the car! :rotfl2:

:dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

There's another thread, started almost a year ago and then abandoned, that someone else resurrected this week--they probably blinked and missed this one. Lets try to keep active and keep up toward the front so others can find this thread as the cruise approaches.

I can't believe how quickly the cruise is approaching! We even brought out our vacation box where we drop things in that we know we want to bring with us.

I guess that I forgot to post this last month, but we've decided to move our cruise to June 1, 2008. We just couldn't resist the double stop at Castaway Cay. Hope you all have a great time in May. Happy sailing.

I need to do my version of that, too! DS thought it was funny last night when he asked "how long until our next Disney Cruise?" and instead of something generic, like how many months, I answered "57 days". I just use the bed in the guest bedroom to lay stuff out.

Its close enough that I've put an envelope in my drawer to start stockpiling single dollar bills for tips, etc.

It's April 1st. Today I said "the cruise is next month". We're almost ready to go too!

in the 2 years since we last cruised w/ Disney, they have added that bacon-wrapped filet to the Animator's menu. decisions, decisions, we usually love the maple glazed salmon. might have to have my server help me out to create a little custom surf & turf action...

or I could just make it a 2 filet week, since i know I 'm having the Palo filet as well.

decisions, decisions.

and I can look at the entire dessert menu for Triton's and just say "yes".

we're booked for dolphin encounter in nassau and sting rays on castaway cay. thank goodness for disney reward dollars from the disney visa card.

We're doing the dolphin encounter, too! :cool1:

We just got back from Disney's Hilton Head Resort last night. (We had a blast!) and we finally told the girls about the cruise. DH buried some treasure on the beach. (We put some DCL trading pins in a small treasure box.) They are both so excited, especially my oldest! :woohoo:

 Not only are we sailing in a few SHORT weeks....my husband and I have decided we are going to try and sell our house!!!!!!! What are we thinking?!

Now, not only do I get to try and think of vacation things everyday, end of the school year things, my own back surgery therapy 3x a week, I get to make sure my house is picked up. I can't begin my packing process yet!

Pray for me and know that MHT(my hammock time) will be well deserved on Castaway Cay.:beach:

Hi all
Has anyone heard whether the new Pirates of the carribean film will be shown on our cruise? I believe its out around that time.

:hourglass Hey, anybody out there anxiously waiting? Time is fast approaching. How's everybody spending these next few weeks?

PLEASE note my previous post on how I'm spending mine!!!

The pre-cruise preparation so far: I've started laying out my clothes. I always pack too much, even though I know better. But I have 4 different DCL polo shirts and want to bring them all. And bring my Hawaiian shirt because sure, its tacky and touristy and loud, but when I wear a shirt like that I definitely feel relaxed and on vacation, after all, I must be somewhere where I just don't care what anyone thinks to dress like that, right? (DS, 11, has the identical shirt; it is a form of our bonding; we wore them to the Final Four last week). Have the Passporter book w/ the shirts. And the two DCL t-shirts. Have booked Palo and excursions. Darn, no parasailing any longer, oh well. Over the weekend went through all the menus and made my selections on a practice run-through. Reviewed the Dixie Crossroads menu on-line for dinner the night before. And have been swapping emails with Wareagle and having our sons email each other so they will have some same-age friends on board and let the parents enjoy the vacation as well!

Only 49 days! I have made Palo reservations for the 2nd night - never been to Palo's before, so DD and I are looking forward to a wonderful experience! DGS (8 1/2) is starting to get so excited - everything is being filtered thru "the cruise and when do we leave" - he is so excited to get to see the Flying Dutchman at Castaway Cay! I also have started putting tip money in an envelope (great idea Disney 44!). Let's keep this thread going and it will make the time go by that much faster!

In a meeting today, we were all going over critical issues for next month at work. My boss said "Sherri, you will be on vacation already". Everyone was asking to sneak on my luggage. While they are all hating life at work while we implement a new software, I'll be in the lap of luxury on DCL!

:thumbsup2 I love reading all the post. It lets me know time is getting here and others are just as anxious as my whole family is.

I look forward to finding out whether the Dramamine patches are going to work for me. I am very prone to car sickness. Do any of you have first hand knowledge of this? Or any other remedy I should bring with me?

I got a patch from my doctor for our last cruise and I'm so glad I did. (I also get car sick very easily.) We had rough waters and I still felt a little uneasy even with the patch on, I can't imagine what I would have been like without it. The hangers were sliding back and forth in the closet! :scared:

It also took me a few days to get my land legs back. :yay:
