My three DD's (Jacey 13, Kaylee 8, and Emily 6) suggested we get a thread going to help our kids meet and start friendships (via email, PM, or texting) before we sail. If anyone has kids that feel the same and would also like to start visiting now, please PM me or post to this thread with gender/age so other parents with similar children ages can PM to set up emails. Lets help our kids enjoy themselves and take away some of the anxiety that they won't have friends once they are cruising!

meb51--where in MS are you coming from? We're from Biloxi and my BFF going with us currently lives in Winona. So we'll have MS represented!

FE participants--I need help. I am making something for all the young ladies and gentlemen 18 (hopefully) and younger--yes all the way down to the 1 year old. Each will be geared towards either male or female. I have all the names on the current (I think its current) list from the FE, but I am having difficulty figuring out which names belong to girls and boys in some cases. Can you please help me out with the following?

Maddie age 8 Boy or Girl?
Maddie age 4 Boy or Girl?
Cianni age 6 Boy or Girl?
Sueahern, son age 7--what's his name please?
Madison age 9 Boy or Girl?
Madison age 4 Boy or Girl?
Ches age 6 Boy or Girl?

9 year old Madison with carriemp is a girl.
We are dropping our Palo reservation for the first night at 8:30. Our travel agent is doing it. I imagine she will do it sometime tomorrow.

Congratulations on your 1st 5K together!!!

I planned to run it on the 2010 January Panama Canal Cruise, but we could not dock at CC due to rough water. I was actually dressed and ready to go when the announcement came on. It was neat to watch us attempt to dock though. It was the highlight of my DH's day if I recall.

Anyway, I think my sister is considering it, but I don't like to run when it is hot so I think I will pass. If we get to see the runners (we did one year), I will happily cheer you on.

I REALLY like the Dooney's they are going to release for the Hawaii Cruises I can't tell if I like the Fantasy ones. I hope they are nicer than they look in the picture - the silver/gray seems just kind of blah. I love my orignal one!! I carry it EVERY day.

Hello! Let me preface this by saying that I have never run this 5K myself, only done research via trip reports and disboard searches. This is a Fun Run and a complimentary activity. The Navigator for the Castaway Cay port day should list where and when runners will meet (usually on the ship). When we meet we sign in and get our runners number and are taken to the start of the route. Then we are shown the route on a map just in case we get seperated. Some people report getting a certificate afterward in their stateroom, but the level of organization and the "award" vary greatly depending on the cast member that is in charge. If you do decide to run look for a brunette and a blonde (that would be me(Tracy) and my DD(Jacey))--We can cheer each other on!!!

I believe I have all the rest figured out if they're male or female and their ages and names. Now I just have to get cracking to get everything made and personalized.

For those of you that have booked and were able to get everything that you wanted booked, Congratulations. We weren't able to get a brunch on Palo and didn't necessarily want to miss Pirate night (the only evening available)--so we'll see about a brunch availability once we're aboard.

We're getting SOOOO excited! I can't hardly wait for the time to fly by and get here--although, I need SOME time to get the FE gifts completed! And no, I'm not giving any hints as to what they are--you'll just have to be a bit more patient and wait until you receive them!

Did you notice the new GTY rates for our cruise? Since I booked so late, paid so much, I cancelled my reservation, Paid the $1400 penalty, rebooked a VGT and still got $700 back! Oh yeah, I immediately went on and was able to grab my Cancelled Palo reservation too!!!

Now I just have to keep my fingers crossed that my cabin assignment isnt worsE than my original assignment. And if it is, then I'll just have to remember that my savings paid for one of our excursions and maybe a Dooney bag too
