Wow everyone--thanks for the great welcome
Okay, Marika and I have just quickly scanned through all of the posts. This seems like a great group of people. I am thrilled we are joining in it.

None of us are on facebook--I guess we better figure that out, huh? Marika is really wanting to meet other teens but not sure she is up to figuring out aother internet forum. I swear I must have the only teen out there who doesn't like social networking sites

Heidi, maybe Marika and your DD can connect via email?
I see that Heather is on the lanyards!!!

Go Heather!!!
I see a few people are going to
Disneyland in conjunction with the cruise. If anyone is interested, I wrote a review (with photos) of our trip there last year (actaully it was the same weekend in May that is the weekend before this trip!) for our little website (see link in signature--my apoloies for all the tons of typos--I update it generally late at night while half asleep

). It is a very amatuerish websote though so do't anyone go in expecting much
We spent 3 days in Barcelona after the 2007 TA. I had been as a teen, but it was the first time I had gone with kids (they were 9 and 11 then). We had a wonderful time (and we had my inlaws along too--so three generations). We stayed in an apartment--as others have noted, a MUCH more reasonable option for groups bigger than 3 most of the time (and you can cook if yo uwant and their is usually a washing machine). If anyone is curios, what the kids enjoyed most (in no particular order) were:
*Sagrada Familia (absolutely do the English language tour--not pricey and very worth it)
*Parque Guell
*Pueblo Espanola
At Peublo Espanola ou can get a scavenger hunt backpack (in English) for a small fee (I think it was 5 Euros). It had supplies and clues to do a scanveger hunt around the whole area and was really fun.
This time we will drive in (about an 11 hour drive). We have the entire two weeks off so we have extra days before the cruise. We are thinking of stopping for a couple of days in MontPillier France (right on the sea) to play at the beach (if it is warm enough--where is the crossing fingers smiley?!) and then a night or two in Barcelona as well.
Taina--thanks for your nice PM. Marika is probably emailing yoru son as I type

Will you get to spend some time in Denmark when he heads to Sweden next year? We spent a week on Zealand this summer and LOVED it. We think the Danes do the best palaces and castles of any we have ever seen--and the little Viking town of Rosthkilde was so charming I could have spent a week right there and been happy. Anyway, conratulations to Ben for being selected to attend the World Jamboree.
Allright--I have to make lunches for tomorrow (it is already 8 pm here

), PM Heather our info, look for another fish extender online (since we have two staterooms), do my German homework and try to figure out facebook, so I had better end this post
