Hi all from down here in Sunny, I mean freezing South Florida. This trip is getting so close. I am so ready to start booking our excursions in a month. I guess first we need to get the final payment made. Then it is time to sit back and wait and see what room we get....

Also is there a first draft of the FE yet. If not how many have signed up?

Our cruise will be here before you know it! I've just about booked all our excursion (outside of the Disney ones, which I'll do the end of Feb). I'm so excited!!!

We are having some very cold days and nights here too although I am sure that USA can top our low temps. Minus 4 this morning here but further north they have reported temps of minus 22 .
We are not used to such prolonged periods of snow and ice with the biting chill winds too. Apparently this weather is the worst it has been here in the UK for 30 years. I certainly canot remember us having such snow for so long.
Enough of that rant about the weather here, we are getting very excited about the cruise and I have just started my diet in preparation to look a little slimmer for the cruise!

Kimberly I just noticed your picture at the bottom of your siggy. I was married at WDW at the Wedding pavilion in Jan. 2007. Is it not the most amazing experience. I also had the Carriage and Mickey and Minnie at the reception. It was certainly a dream wedding.

Have you looked into the port excursions as yet?
The ones with DCL are very expensive, I priced up a Rome trip and it was over £ 600 for the three of us and that was just one day!!

We are a family from Missouri and we'll be joining the fun! We will have myself, my husband, three sons ages 17, 15, and 12 (turning 13 on the cruise!), along with my husband's parents who are from Utah. We just finished paying for the cruise and it's finally feeling REAL!
I've spent the entire day reading all I can find about the excursions from the 2007 and I think I'm more overwhelmed now than I was to begin with! I don't know what we are going to do yet. I've been surprised at how expensive the Disney excursions are but I guess that's how it is. We actually downgraded our rooms so it won't hurt so much.
I don't know if I'm too late but I would love to join the group to get in on the fish extenders. (I hope that's right)
It's been fun reading all of the posts!

Welcome! My DS also turns 13 on the cruise! (June 3rd) With a large group like yours, it may be less expensive to do some private excursions. We also downgraded and what we saved should cover the airfare, which we still haven't booked. Is anyone holding out for airfare sales? Continental rates keep going up. I did price out British Airways today for $975 from Houston to Paris (for our pre-cruise trip), then returning Barcelona to Houston. I may just go ahead and book this soon. Guess I need to start planning some private excursions too! Trip is only 4 months away!

Hi Tracey

we are probably not going to do many if any shore excursions as our children are not too bothered. We tend to get off the ship and wander around the ports and have a drink etc.

Also after speaking to my parents who have been to Rome for a long weekend they said you can't see Rome in a few hours, so we will go either without the kids someday or when they are older.

The Monaco trip with a visit to the Palace and Casino was a great trip in 2007 and not too expensive(even with Disney prices). We left the children on the ship which they were very happy about.

We are also going to Disney World in August for 3 weeks so the cruise is a real luxury just to be on it again.

On our last cruise, a very talented crafty person set up a website for our group which had photos, listed the cruise travelers, any celebrations, 1st or 2nd dining, who was participating in FE, etc. Was very helpful to see how many kids were in the group, what age ranges. From reading the posts, looks like we have lots of boys cruising! We wound up sharing an excursion and linked dining with a wonderful family who had a DD the same age as my DD. The girls still stay in touch by text. In order to make the FE successful, someone will need to be FE coordinator. We are not participating since we will be traveling as light as possible. I will volunteer to coordinate a DisMeet perhaps on the first sea day if anyone is interested. We also did a gift exchange. Everyone entered their name who brought a gift (people brought a gift to represent their state), and each person who participated left with a gift. We did this at the Dis Meet. If anyone is interested, I will coordinate this. I can carry one small gift in exchange for one small gift!
So, is anyone willing to step forward to set up a website, and add info as people forward to them? Anyone want to be FE coordinator? Anyone want to coordinate a private brunch at PALO for the group? Lets get this cruise party started!

Ok.Im back LOL

I had to switch jobs and get through the holidays but now I can dedicate to this, especially since were only 4 months away wohoooooo!

Tom is trying to make a website and we have the logo at Cafe Press which I will have him send in a link after I post! Anyone can order those shirts and its done through them not us. Its a secure site and we have ours already.Be nice to make a day where we all wear them!


Things I have been working on are lanyards, fish extender list and meet times.

For people who dont know what fish extenders are they are basically envelopes with your names and decorated however you want that hang outside your door and different people on different days come around and put gifts in them during the cruise. This doesnt have to be anything big, sometimes its pencils,keychains from whatever state your from or groups have gotten together and chipped in and made bigger gifts!
It is so much fun to run back to your cabin and find out whats in it. Our last cruise we did groups and we had one for every day so there was something in there every day.
It doesnt matter if people want to go alone or in groups but it is nice to know who is participating so we can make a map and pass it out so those who are participating dont get missed.
Im trying to compile a list of those wishing to participate. What I need emailed to me is cabin number ( if you know it), number of people in cabin and names. When everyone emails me I will see how many there is, we need to cover 10 days so then it comes down to if people want to do it individually or as groups. Our email is threebritts@aol.com, anyone can also ask any questions if they want there.

I also found a place online that I can get lanyards for a good price so was going to order them and then have the logo as background with our Dis names and real names. ( We did this on the PC cruise an it was nice because we stood out). Tom and I can do this, we just need everyones name including kids as they would get them too with parents dis name. Even if you dont want to do the fish extenders your more then welcome to have a lanyard.
Im hoping to schedule a meet in lounge when we board to pass them out and get to meet everyone.
I also got some info on doing a scavenger hunt but that also would depend on participation so when emailing me let me know that too.
Okkkkkkkk ( Taking deep breath) I think thats it!
Im an RN that works nights so will check mail every morning now and try to get this going. Ill take any help I can get LOL
