Oh my let me think- Over 10 in all - Disney the first one and two 7days - im a big Disney Fan DVC member - we go to Disney World 3 or 4 times a YEAR AND TRY NOT TO TAKE KIDS LOL - caps lock on sorry bad typing here First time in a chat room still trying to figure all this out - lol - this is sounding like its going to be a GREAT trip with lots of nice people

I have been sick for a week now (not sure if it is a bug or if it is just allergies), but figure now is better than next month. The weather is crazy out here - one day it is warm (well warm for SF) and the next day is cold and rainy.

Anyway, I started working on my playlist for my ipod for the trip. I also got a set of portable travel speakers (SonicImpact) that come in a carry case. I also think I am pretty set with my packing list. Now I just need to start setting things aside a pile to pack.

I also have been looking at a bunch of Barcelona websites. What is everyone else who is arriving a day or so early planning on doing? I am torn between the Tourist Bus (Hop on/off) and the Barcelona Card. I have a little more than 36 hours in Barcelona - from landing to ship departure and part of that time will be used to sleep and check-in on the ship.

BTW we are staying at the Hesperia Presidente Hotel but I booked on my own (110 Euros). From my research I think I will just take a cab - less walking and less time than using public transportation. Is there anyone else coming in on and going to the Hesperia Presidente or a hotel near by:

Just checked with the travelocity website and we seem to be confirmed on our flights on Iberia on 5/24 and 6/6. Should I contact the airlines directly rather than via travelocity? Online? Spoke with a DCL rep and all is ok for us for the ship.
32 days until we 4 leave for Barcelona!!! Ate at a Sicilian restaurant here in Huntington Beach, Ca last night. We know the owner and he is from a small town outside of Cefalu. He immediately brought out a book on Sicily and showed us where it is, what to look for on the tour of Cefalu and he was so excited. He also had a big (huge) screen tv on the wall and it kept showing the sights of Italy over and over. My husband says that now it is starting to seem more real!

The restaurant is Mangia Mangia. it is on GoldenWest and Edinger. It's a little strip mall on Golden west and kater korner from Golden West college. It is a 'hole in the wall' restaurant, but the food is amazing. My favorite is the black linguini with sea scallops in a creamy tomato sauce. Kinda sound like the menu, Huh? It is not often on the menu, but you can ask for it and Pietro will make it for you. They are brothers that own it, Guiseppe is the younger brother with reddish hair that seats you, Pietro is the cook...er..chef. Go early if you do go there....no later than 5:30 or at the latest at 6. otherwise, you will wait for a while. Hope you like garlic.....it is their mainstay! yum!!!

Enjoy yourself and do go very hungry. Be careful of their garlic bread..it is addicting.

The problem has been that we have 11 of us and many of the rooms only hold 2 people sometimes 3. but keeping my eye open. The other 4 in our group are 2 on the repo and 2 flying in the day of. Sorry you've been sick. that you get all better real soon (so you can have energy for all that packing!)

Taxi is the easiest way to go! Public transport is only cheap if you're just one person with little to no luggage.

We're doing the Bus Turistic. Other than going to the Magic Fountains we won't need public transportation so the Barcelona Card isn't very worthwhile for us. We'll just buy a T10 and share it. Since the bus turistic goes right to each stop, it's easier then the Metro. You also get a tour guide that speaks English on the bus.

I have the brochures for both in case you want to know specific discounts.

If we were staying further from town where we needed to use the Metro more, it would make sense to use the Barcelona Card and forget about the Bus Turistic. We're on Las Ramblas just south of Placa Catalunya, so the bus is very easy for us to reach.

Talking about portable speakers, I saw some on "I Want That". They are cardboard and fold absolutely flat for carrying. There were kewl!
