Hi all! is there any way to auto refresh this chat and not get so many emails - i get an email everytime someone chats but i have to go back a page and then forward to see the post ! Signed confused first time chat person

You have your subscription set to send you an instant email notification which means everytime someone posts you get a notification. Once you see the post, you will get another notification the next time someone posts. If you are on the boards for a long time, you will get emails for each post. If you check the posts then get offline for a while, you will only get one email for the next post and not again until you go online again. You could change your email notification to daily or never if you want. Go to your User CP at the top of this window and look at subscribed threads. There you can change how you are notified.

You can turn off the notifications - but I haven't found a way to only have them sometimes. It will give you a notificatoin the FIRST time someone posts after you last read OR posted. So if you are online and constantly posting - or checking to read, you'll get tons of emails. If you aren't, then you won't get very many emails.

An easier way to see the latests posts is to just refresh your browser window.

I also have been looking at a bunch of Barcelona websites. What is everyone else who is arriving a day or so early planning on doing? I am torn between the Tourist Bus (Hop on/off) and the Barcelona Card. I have a little more than 36 hours in Barcelona - from landing to ship departure and part of that time will be used to sleep and check-in on the ship.

What is everyone else doing who is not using Disney transporation?

Does the Barcelona Card not cover the Hop On/Off tour? I thought it did. There are 11 of us going, so we were trying to decide the same thing. A private car taking 4 of us (we'd have to have 2 cars) would be 70e per car. I can do a lot of busses and taxi's and trains for $200.

There is a metro line that takes you pretty close to the port. I think we'll be doing the Metro from the hotel to the port. I realize that you can't check in before a certain time, but we were WAY early last time and things went without a hitch and we got on quickly.

We're on Delta #94 from JFK, but leaving the 23rd, arriving in BCN the 24th.

It doesn't from what I can tell. Hop-on/hop-off bus is a separate "tourist" service similar to the Tibibus. Barcelona Card offers discounts on Tibibus. Here is the official list of covered items:
Free public transport: metro, city buses (day and night) and FGC city and suburban train network, trams, train to the airport and Renfe trains zone 1.

I don't think the hop-on/hop-off is considered a "city bus". You could always try emailing them.

Maybe it'd be better if you got a private tour as if you were a tour group. That would hit the outlying sites like La Sagrada Familia, etc. My TA went on one. Then you could purchase a T10 or daily Metro pass for the remaining time. Wandering Las Ramblas and the Gothic Quarter could easily fill a day. Don't forget all of the entrance fees when calculating doing it on your own. They are not cheap.

Well, I just spoke to Dennis at DCL and he had already heard the rumor and had read the thread, so he is going to check into it and get back to me. They seem to think it is a rumor, but they are going to make some calls. Apparently they've had several calls about it.

This came down from our Disney rep so I doubt it is a rumor. It is rare for the agents on the floor at DCL to hear about stuff before the rest of us do, so I'm not surprised.

OK, well supervisor Dennis came through with some research...
The problem is door destruction. Some people have been using glue and tape to post their decorations. They are trying to discourage door decorations for this reason. However, if you use a magnet or magnetic strips that is fine. I told him I would post the info and get the word out about what not to use. Big sigh of silly relief.

IIRC this surfaced once before and it was related to some fire code. It only lasted a couple sailings though and was not enforced.

Until I hear otherwise though I am moving that to the bottom of my to do list - lol

We are staying at the Hotel Olivia Plaza. It is at the north end of Las Ramblas and we got a decent price on expedia, although I don't know what it is like now. It seems to have great reviews, good location, and looked nice. Hope this helps.

Question in regards of the toga party. I have never been to one and I was told there are people who can help with the toga.My question is what do I need to make a toga and two do i need to bring it from home or something we can get on ship.I fell silly with this question but I just do not know.

Hello!! I just discovered this wonderful site today! Ive enjoyed and have learned a lot! My DH, DS and DD and I will be joining all of you on the May 26th sailing and I am looking forward to meeting as many of you as I can!
We have first seating, not sure of rotation yet and our cabin is on deck 6.
This is our 3rd Disney cruise so we may have cruised with some of you before!
I sent a pm to Ron (hi Ron) about wanting to get in on the parties and lanyards, but just in case he did not recieve it can someone tell me what to do next?
