ok, a few things to cover before bed... LOL...

Green Rubber bracelets - GENIUS!

RBD Crew - Who else is up for some drinking and dancin' time?! :dance3: You all do not strike me at the "go-to-bed-early" crowd! :cool1:

We signed up for our excursions already, and my apologies I do not have the list in front of me, but what I recall is:
Palermo - Hike and Pompei
Villefranche - Covertable Car thingy
Marseille - Chateau Neuf du Pape and Avignon (I will need to be carried
back from this one)

There are others, but I cannot recall them... lol... :confused3

Aside from that, if we are at sea, you can find me in Palo for BOTH brunch and high-tea... :thumbsup2 and if I am at neither of those, I will be comatose in the Rainforest! :cloud9:

So sorry.... :-( I have been a little busy at work, :surfweb: and have not had much of a chance to log on here... I did not mean to ignore amyone... :confused3

I wasn't feeling ignored, I was afraid that the message had landed in the WWW limbo :surfweb:

I have had that happen more than once :)

Sorry, it's the flipping nights to days thing- it's really weird being up all night:confused3 I sit her watching my husband sleep....

Flipping?? Gee - I do that every week!! I work nights full and part time (gotta pay for this stuff somehow!!) On my weekend off I flip and try to be around my hunnie on her schedule.

I thought I was the only one who called it flipping - glad to hear that others use the phrase..also glad there are other night-nuts out there...now maybe when I can't sleep on the cruise I will have some people to hang with!! :cheer2: :grouphug:

SSOOOOO?? How many night-nuts are out there??? I do the 7p-7a thing...

Not me! I'm an early bird! But I think there's a fine line there too. I just got up for the day, so our paths do cross but not for long

GREAT JOB! :thumbsup2 You got a real deal!!!

So where are you going to spend that $500??????

BTW - I didn't tell Christina about the french fries. She's been a bit dramatic lately and I was afraid it would push her over the edge. She's awful possessive of those french fries! :rotfl:

We're flying Iberia out of JFK.....it's an AA codeshare partner as that is who I booked it with. I hate those long international flights....at least now we will have company.

Happy Valentines Day!

Has anyone found a good deal to exchange dollars for euros? I found a site to exchange for euros cash or traveler checks in euros at foreignexchangeservices.com/ They offered a rate of $1.3642/euro and an $8.00 shipping fee. I hesitate exchanging euros on the ship at guest services or in town as you never know what the exchange rate might be. Any other options or thoughts? Alex

I currently can't remember if I am flying on United or American?? :confused3 It's the 4 hours of sleep thing. I'm not really awake yet and intend on going back to sleep, but I'm running to the craft store first. I must be  or  .

I have to work tonight from 7pm to 7am. I am debating on staying on the night shift until the cruise....

There are a few conferences I want to go to and I could use the extra time and $$ to pay for them. :rolleyes1 What the heck, I really must be sick!  I should be using the money for shore excursions or another cruise. I was spending time telling Robb that I wanted to fly into Georgia for a weekend so I could learn better management of a vent (breathing machine) and how to place central lines (BIG IV's in peoples necks)under ultrasound guidance.   I have a feeling the only person who might understand this strange feeling is ALEX!

Alex- I intend on using the ATM, unless the Euro drops significantly between now and then. I also know you can buy $100 packs at AAA, but I don't know how well the exchange rate is.

Happy Valentine's Day to all of you.

For those of you not living in the northeast congratulations! It has been snowing, sleeting, raining and snowing again since 5:00 pm last night. The sleet was coming down so fast and hard that the pinging on the windows woke me up.

Ron, I think that Brett I will be joining you on the Pompeii/Mt. Vesuvius hike. Brett has been interested in volcanos since the one in Washington was venting a couple of years ago. You created a monster when you told Bob about the Stollen Bread/strawberries/whipped cream. We will be enjoying brunch and dinner in Palo too. We can't wait to talk with Marco. We told him last April to let his mother know that we would be joining him when he went home for dinner.

FirstTimers, have you checked with AAA to exchange $'s to Euros? Our local office charges $7.00 and need 2 days notice. Bob, my Valentine, works in NYC and will probably exchanging some $'s at the American Express office. I think he said that they don't charge to exchange money.

PS Anyone on US Air out of Philly on the 24th?

See- with the time change, you will actually be awake when you are supposed to be! Everyone else will be asleep at weird times. :yay:

I normally prefer to work days, even though it can be a :headache: . When I work days I am usually asleep by 9pm, so I can get up at 4:30. I am such the slave to the man;) It's the free grad school thing- but the 62 mile commute (EACH WAY) can be pretty horrid.

I can't flip in between, I have to be a all night or an all day person. Otherwise, I just get sick and end up using my vacation time in bed- rather than with my boyfriend Mickey. Robb sleeps in on the weekends anyways- so I just end up waking up a little later than he does. I just make up for it with nice dinners and stuff. It actually works out better when I work nights for him because instead of being tired and exhausted like he is, I am actually awake and feel like being social- rather than going to bed. He likes it when I feel like taking care of him, rather than taking care of me. :rotfl:

That sounds great to have you on the hike... it should be fun... :yay: I was warbling between the hike and the Herculaneum trips, but, this really should be fun...

So glad to hear you enjoy that Stollen Bread creation so much... I am looking forward to it myself! lol...

Hey all, my sister and I are planning to go on the Mt. Vesuvius Hike and tour of Pompeii as well. Hopefully it doesn't sell out too early! It'll be great to go on a tour with a whole bunch of DISers!

Kewl!!!

OK, folks! Time is getting closer for booking excursions and Palo, etc.

We're members of the Castaway Club so we should be able to book 90 days in advance of our sail date, right? So, for those of us sailing on the first cruise (leaving Barcelona may 26), when is the first day to book?

I have my calendar marked for Sunday, Feb. 25 at 3 AM Eastern time, but I saw somewhere that it was Feb. 24.

I should just call DCL, but everyone here often has better information ;-)
