Christmas at Arlington and one big, American thank-you is certainly due to Merrill Worcester and the Worcester Wreath Co. of Harrington, Maine. To do something like this year after year is above and beyond the call of duty. Here's a salute to you, Merrill, and I hope you get many more.

I had never heard of this. I have only visited in the summer months. I wonder why the press hasn't enlightened the public about it?

Readers may be interested to know that these wreaths -- some 5,000 -- are donated by the Worcester Wreath Co. of Harrington, Maine. The owner, Merrill Worcester, not only provides the wreaths, but covers the trucking expense as well. He's done this since 1992. A wonderful guy. Also, most years, groups of Maine school kids combine an educational trip to DC with this event to help out. Making this even more remarkable is the fact that Harrington is in one the poorest parts of the state.

You hear too much about the bad things people do. Everyone should hear about this!

OK, I'm completely clueless! What is WPASADI anyway? I clicked on the link and tried to find out, but it was way too much to read. Who are we cheering for and why? How many teams will be on our cruise? I don't want to cheer for some and not others. As you can probably tell, I have no idea what is going on.......someone please enlighten me!

WPASADI is a challenge by teams of 8 total of 20 teams, being elemenated.

Teams will be elemanated then on to personal elemanation. Just like Survivor and other reality shows! The challenges will last 12 for the teams and another 12 weeks for personal.

Prizes will be awarded to the audience and the teams/ personal. Awards are as little as iPods to a 4 day curise. Check out the WPASADI link.

We (as teams) will be needing help from others Dis'ers in the challenges. We could use all the help/support we can get.

GotDisney and Mickey1122 are wonderful ask them ,I bet they could send you more info then I at the moment! They are terrifficc!!!

Have been doing a lot of searching on my own and I see others have been doing a great job. We plan on coming in a day early (May 25th) and staying a few days after the cruise.


Had a difficult time booking a hotel in Barcelona (not available) but got the Hotel Arts Barcelona (Ritz Carlton) for 200€ per night. I wanted to stay at the port, EUROSTARS GRAND MARINA it is $400 per night. This just does not seem right when I got the Ritz for ~$250? Has any one else having problems booking, is it too early? I am having sticker shock. When I see prices like this I wonder what a $200 per night room is.

Yeah.. there is a bit of sticker shock! My bank account fainted right after I sent my last payment!

We're staying a day before the cruise @ the Grand Marina, I made ressies back in April, and they were $450.00 .If you're getting a hotel for $250 Grab It!

We are staying the night in Barcelona after the Back to back cruise. We were a little surprised at the cost too, but it saved us about $1000 dollars to stay the night and fly the next morning. My problem is that I didn't want to stay in Barcelona after visiting there for several days, so I've been looking at all the other cities to fly to and spend the night there instead. I'm not having much luck on the cost effectiveness of this idea.

Hey, Bareacuda, are you coming to DL for the holidays?

I just got off the phone with DCL.

Disney is offering a three night hotel and length of stay (both parks/hopper) ticket package with ground transportation and an air option.

The price depends on the hotel. Newport Bay is $700/adult and Hotel New York is $770/adult. This includes ground transport from the Paris airport to DLP but not anything from the ship to the Paris airport.

They don't have price with air from Barcelona (and I assume ground from the ship to the Barcelona airport) is not yet available.

I don't know what the luggage allowance with that air option will be. I hope that they'd apply US rules. (Remember, luggage allowances/charges in Europe are very different than luggage allowances in the US and on international flights. The second bag charge in Europe can easily be more than the ticket on low cost airlines.)

i just noticed that they have the excursions listed on the DCL site. Wow, there are alot of choices! I am way too busy with Christmas stuff to even look at them now, but plan to really get serious when the holidays are over. I wish they would send us the little excursion brochure so it is easier to get an overview. Someone on another thread said Castaway Club members could book at 105 days out, but I thought that was usually just for Cats 1-3.

Hi All...

I really hate to say this.....
Due to a big conflict in time (dates)with an art gallery, and having talked to them over 18 months ago... we will be in a great gallery in Nevada. So DH and I have had to back out of this cruise.
Alot of this morning we thought, plotted and planned what we can do...There is no way we can make it. We are just heart broken over this cruise.
We figured we could do 3 -7 day cruises if we did it wisely.

And you cant get rid of me that easy! I'll be checking in on all of you!

...and what about those of us without any kids to sell? Guess we'll have to give up our right arm or something LOL

I've gone over most all of the excursion descriptions with a fine-tooth comb and still have lots of questions. For example, in some of the descriptions it says an "unguided walking tour" and I understand that one ...but what about the ones (Rome: Private VIP visit of the Vatican & highlights of Rome) that say something like "unforgettable walking tour of the city's most celebrated places."

Obviously a walking tour ...but does that mean there will be a guide or not?

I called DCL and they don't have any more information than what's on the website at this time.
