Hi All!

So happy to not have to fly down to Florida! It's me, DH, DD (will be 7) and DS (will be 5). Cannot convince other DS (17) to go. I think he will regret it!

Anyway - we booked Category 9A. It turned out to be about $900 more than our 5-night out of PC (w- guesstimated airfare) that we had booked for March 2012. Worth it to us!

This will be our first cruise and we are hoping to convince some friends to join us. Any tips you have for us would be appreciated!

Looks like two other DS age 17 will be going - telling he will have company in the club.

I have updated the first page to show everyone who has indicated that they are going or have a cabin on hold. I only included names of party member who gave them. (I respect your privacy if you don't want to give too much info.)

Also - 409 Days

Thanks, Robin! :) But John is my "DH", not my "DS"! LOL

Still not sure if DSs will be sailing with us or not; they're still deciding! :scratchin

OOOPS

Well if he is like my DH, I refer to him as my other child sometimes. :)

One note about our cruise. It looks like our cruise is almost in a straight line south. So I did a little calculation looks like we will be traveling approx. 15 degree 42 minutes south over the course of our trip. I wonder if that is the largest change in latitude for a single cruise.

we were on the Maiden Voyage of the Western Carribean cruise in 2000. They had a special pin for purchase and I seem to remember a few other trinkets.

I was on the maiden Western Caribbean too! But I don't remember much about it. (Wasn't it in 2002 though?) I was only ten then! :cutie:

2000 is when the Magic added the 7-night Eastern Caribbean itinerary, and then in 2002 it added the 7-night Western Caribbean.

Hi everyone. Mike and I booked the cruise. I don't really feel good about it, because it's so much more expensive than other cruise lines out of NYC, and the itin is a bit on the sucky side (all they really needed to do was swap Bermuda for Nassau, and I wouldn't be so hesitant). But, hey, it's Disney! It's driving distance to the port for us! My husband, bless his sweet heart, is the one who didn't blink at the price and wanted to do it.

Anyway, I know my screenname throws everyone off, but Alex is our cat, and Vanessa, may her sweet soul rest in peace, was our cat. She died in 2007. So, what I am trying to say in a roundabout way is that our names are Mike and Jodie. :goodvibes

You are right it was in 2002. Matt was 7 then and in second grade. I remember pulling him out of school for the week. Can't do that anymore with him in High School. If we could I would be going to Hawaii.

Sorry about your fur baby Vanessa. :sad1: We lost Simba about 5 years ago and I still miss him.

I will fix the names :)

Hi everyone! :wave2:

I'm on break at work, so I thought I'd peek in! :surfweb:

Robin, congrats on making it official!! :yay:

When our DSs got to be around the age of middle school, they no longer wanted to miss school for vacations, so we started taking vacations in the summer. Now that they're both "adults", we don't have that restriction anymore. :cool2: Even though DS19 (almost 20) is still in college, the semester will be over by May 25th of next year, so if he decides to join us, it won't interfere with his classes.

Hi Amanda!! I remember when your mom and I were planning the 2006 (or was it the 2004 cruise? LOL) cruise, we commented how similar we thought that you and my younger DS were. Both excellent in school. :teacher:

Eventually I'll learn everyone's names...in the meantime, HELLO EVERYBODY!! :grouphug:

P.S. Jodie, today my Siamese cat named "Mushu" is turning 10 years old. He still plays as if he were a kitten! lol :cat:

Another Meezer Mom???? I have a Tortie Point - Annie (Anastasia) and a Seal Point - Riku (yes named after Riku in Kingdom Hearts)

Hey guys, hubby was right ... it wouldn't take me too long to come around with this cruise. I have it in my head that if we do this cruise (Disney's first out of NYC), I also want to do its last, the 9/17 to Canada. Who knows ... we may do it just yet.

Thank you too for all of your wishes about Vanessa. Lots of pet parents here! We now have Savannah, who is much different from Nessa, but certainly helps to fill a void.

So ... what park will everyone be doing when we are in Port Canaveral? I am wondering how that is going to work? Will that be a shorex that we can book, selecting our transportation to the parks by time? Hmmmm, guess we'll be the guinea pigs!

It was in 2004 lol! In fact, I was just looking at some of the pictures from that cruise on your website, and I saw myself in one of them! :rotfl:

In other awesome news, I paid our deposit on this cruise today! Woohoo! :yay::yay::yay:

I was thinking the same thing tonight, that our cruise will be the guinea pig cruise!

I love Siamese cats! I had a rescue Siamese named Tofu before I got Mushu and that's how I fell in love with them. Then poor Tofu came down with kidney disease and we had to put her to sleep. :guilty: About a year later we found out that friends of ours were breeding their Siamese cats. By the time we got to their house all of the kitties were taken except for the runt of the litter, which was Mushu. The poor thing was underweight, had a respiratory infection, and was full of fleas. We immediately took Mushu to the vet and he put him on an antibiotic, flea drops, and told us which kitten food to feed him. When we brought Mushu back to the vet 2 weeks later the vet couldn't believe that it was the same cat! And Mushu's been living happily ever after....and we have, too! :cloud9:

Ok, so you were on the 10-night Hurricane cruise, too!!!! Was that an adventure, or what??? :thumbsup2 Congrats on the deposit!

DS-almost-20 said that he and his DGF are still seriously considering this cruise. They were pricing it out again today. DS is on the more conservative side when it comes to money, but his DGF loves Disney, loves to cruise (she hasn't been on a Disney cruise yet though!) and loves the idea of another vacation with us, so I have a feeling that they are going to decide to book this.

I think we want to do Magic Kingdom and Epcot. I think all aboard is 11:30 pm, so it would be awesome if we could see IllumiNations!

Yes, it was awesome! It was so cool that our cruise was able to be extended! :goodvibes

We will be joining all of you, just moved our dummy reservation and paid the extra deposit!!!
we will be in 2 connecting 9A rooms. I would love 2 cat 11 rooms but Im a bit claustrophobic. This is the most we have ever paid for a vacation so I have some anxiety about the cost but at least we wont need to pay air for 5 people!
:dance3:
ME-Heidi (31 at time of sailing)
DH-Jamie (29)
DD-Alyssa (14)
DD-Lily (just shy of 6)
DS-Mason (4 1/2)
:dance3:
We did our 1st cruise in Feb on the Dream for my bday and loved it!!!
We wanted to take the kids on a 3nt to break them in but I guess they will be jumping in with both feet.
I hope to be skinny by the trip and if I can lose 7lbs a month until then I will be my ideal weight! The elliptical was just delivered and now I have to start meal planning. Anyone with me???? Im going to start on South Beach Monday.

I hope we can get to know each other, put the kids in the club and have a few drinks in the hot tub!!

Hey everyone,

I'm Seaspray's DS 19, gonna be 21 on the cruise. Just scraped together my pennies to put down the deposit for Monday! Anyways, my name is Robb and my DGF is Chelsea. My mom's probably going to talk her into coming onto the DISBoards too so she'll probably be around.

I've been on the Magic twice before ('04 and '06), DGF's been on a non-Disney cruise before. She's a huge Disney fanatic so if it weren't for that fact we'd probably not be going.:rotfl2: But I digress, I'm really looking forward to going next May, a nice "one year left of college!" gift to myself!

Right now we're booked in an 11b, never been in one before. I've been in a deluxe inside and a verandah cabin before, so that'll be new too!

Looking forward to it everyone!
