Thanks! I'm learning I've had some trouble trying to figure things out, and it's not like I don't know how to use a computer, it's just this site is a little tricky. I looked at the pictures from your previous Disney Cruises and they are beautiful. I just booked my trip this week and will be traveling with Georgette and her family. Hi Everyone

Trying to forget about the rainy weather here in NY so I am passing the day away with a great cup of coffee and reading all these great threads about Disney Cruising!!!! This will be my first Disney Cruise and we are more than excited, especially since we will be sharing it with our dear friends. Not sure if I should do the fish extender??? my son is 20. Are there any other fun things to do to get into the Disney Crusing Experience?? All suggestions are welcome

Welcome aboard...I would suggest doing the fish extender (but I am a little biased I guess )

I personnally find it a great way to meet folks, learn the ship, and generally have a good time!

There is a lot to do...the drinking age onboard is 18, so he might find the nightclub area interesting. There is an arcade, full sized movie theater, internet access (very expensive), as well as shows. The Dis also might provide him a way to meet folks his age before the cruise. Three pools, food 24/7, and a gym area....what more does anyone need???

Phyllis, you should definitely do the fish extender. It's not just for families with younger kids. My husband and I will be participating, and so will my son and his girlfriend (they're 20 now, but will be 21 by the time of the cruise).

The drinking age on the Disney ships is actually 21, so your son won't be able to drink on the cruise unless he turns 21 before. But there will be other "kids" right around his age, including my son, his girlfriend, and a DISer named Amanda, and her boyfriend.

Thanks Cayla and Terry for the information your sharing with me I thought that the drinking age was 21 - but not a big deal for him or our friends son. It will be nice if they could meet each other once the ship sails
The more I think about it, the more I want to do the fish extender I just need some hints as to what to purchase for giving out to others, both for adults and children

Just an updated post -

If you wish to participate in the FE exchange - then please send me a PM with the following information:

in the subject line please put the name of the cruise (I am managing 3 lists for 3 different NYC cruises, so I have to know which one you will be particapting with)

Your Dis Name:
Your real world name:
Who is sailing with you: please include the ages of children
any special instructions: allergies, limitations etc
If you would like me to email you the list in Excel format - include your email address. I will post updates monthly until the final payment date, then I will try to update the google doc page with every addition.

Please also tell me your thoughts on when to close the list - the choices are 30 days or 60 days. If the group gets too large (we need to define that as well at some point) do you want it broken into sections? If so, how many cabins in each group?

I will be starting school again just after Labor Day, and may not be able to update the list as often as I would like - if I do NOT answer your PM within a week - please resend it...I may loose it in the sauce of my online course emails. I do have sorts set up in Outlook - but one does miss things occosionly.

Oh my gosh, can't believe I didn't think to look for this thread after the one that was initially started stopped!

Please "unhold" me from the front page, we're definitely coming! Well, assuming we can pick up some decent priced flights from the UK, but hoping there will be some flight sales after Christmas.
