Just an FYI, I have read that there are plenty of blankets available out on deck.

I read about blankets too, but haven't found anything yet to describe the quality. Are they the same size and thinness of airline blankets or are they something a bit thicker that will take the edge off the chill?

I'm not picky, just trying to figure out if I packed too much or not enough. I'm usually on the side of too much.

Thanks, I'll make sure I keep one in our cabin. Saves room in the luggage by not taking one.

I just discovered Teva 2 months ago and bought a pair. But mine are tall boots. SO COMFORTABLE.

The Teva's are very comfortable, I bought the De la Vina, short boot. My Ugg's are a tall boot, so I'm taking those with me as well.

As far as weather, I am packing for anywhere between 55-75F or 12-24 C. I would imagine it would be cooler in the evenings and bring rain gear for sure. At least, that is how I am packing..everyone is a little different.

Sorry - I don't remember what the blankets that were up on deck looked like - our stateroom hostess just brought us another blanket that was used on the beds for us to use on our verandah - all I remember it was tanish / brownish

In regards to weather - I am planning on packing all long pants, long sleeve t shirt type shirts, one hoodie sweatshirt and I have a nylon jacket with a hood that I can wear over my hoodie - then I can just layer as needed.

We have UGG-ish knockoffs for wearing around the ship. But for the Tevas, I have the De la Vinas that come mid calf. My biggest splurge was for what to wear was to get us stylish waterproof hiking boots. My dressing down is non existent.

It's all good. Worse case is if I haven't brought enough layers, there's hopefully enough blankets to double up if need be. I'm anemic and always cold so hopefully my over packing can keep me comfortable.

Welcome toffeecushion. I've not been to London, but I sure plan on visiting one day.

I read somewhere the average temp is in the 50's for this time of year. the extended forecast has the temp on the 23rd at 61 in Vancouver. The other days on the cruise averaged from high 40's to low sixty's. I'm packing base layers, long sleeve t-shirts, fleece pullovers, rain jacket and a heaver jacket. Better bring some detergent and make use of the washer and dryers. I plan too.

Does anyone know if the Wonder's staterooms has been updated with the new doors in which you just tap your KTTW card to open the door? Or do you still have to get your card out to swipe to get into your room?

From what I understand, you can now just tap your KTTW card to open the door on the Wonder.

Hey Toffeecushion. Vancouver is very similar to London temperature and weather wise, so for the couple weeks before you should be good with whatever you are wearing at the moment. It rains a bunch, but you should be able to prepare for that! (My hubby is from London and laments that we didn't move to Vancouver, because the weather is the closest to home for him)

Alaska will be chillier. I think the max weather is 15C and on the boat its windy (and I'm guessing a bit cooler than land).

I highly agree on the base layers. I'm always amazed that such thin material can keep me warm. Fortunately we have some from another trip a few years ago. I only have one set of the really good camping ones and the rest are substitutes I found at Big Lots. Each of us has packing cubes and in 1 small cube I was able to fit 5 long sleeve undershirts and 5 pairs of cold weather leggings and still have a bit of room to spare in the cube. But I also roll really tight so that always helps enable my over packing because of the room to spare and light weight.

Do they also have it where once inside you have to leave your card in the slot to turn on the electricity? If so, I always bring old KTTW cards so we don't have to worry about who's key is in the slot if one of us wants to leave the room and not leave the other in the dark.
