May 24, 2014 Alaskan 9 night Wonder

Thanks for posting this. We are coming in the day before and staying at the Pan Pacific as well. I have been looking at the Skytrain as an option and your information was helpful. There are 5 of us so there's no way a Prius would cut it for us as far as a taxi! The kids are all old enough to pull their own bag and if there are elevators I think it would be totally doable. I haven't explored the site yet but I did find this: http://www.translink.ca/

You are welcome. Yes I found that link, too. I am trying to navigate and get a little but more out of the friend. It LOOKS like it may be more cost effective to get a daypass from the airport to the waterfront stop because of the $5 up charge. I need to explore that more. I don't think we'd really use it that day beyond that trip but I'd like to do it the cheapest way possible of course. Their website is slow to load and I need to go to bed haha. I can move my son's suitcase with mine as they have those all direction wheels and he can take his carry on with wheels. I just need to be sure that everything we need fits in 2 suitcases! I will be utilizing laundry services ;)

Remember, a day pass for the train can also be used on busses and water taxis so you might use it more than you think.

Cruise is all paid off! We can start booking on the 24th!

:thumbsup2 We are paid off as well, but I have to wait a month to start booking.

true but I figure we won't venture too far from the hotel that first day.

Where are people staying? If not at the Pan Pacific, how are you getting to the port? We are at the Pan Pacific but just trying to put info out there for others.

:cool1::cool1::cool1:

Another who has just paid off the cruise, instead of saving the money for it ;)

I will not be up to see the Wonder dock, but I will meet y'all at 3.

Now many pieces of luggage can you fit into a Prius???? I just might have to ask a friend. Cause the taxi from the airport would be just as cost effective as the skytrain. Thank you for figuring that out for me:flower3:

Now off to figure out flight dates, hotel, and excursions:upsidedow

This would be fun! :lmao:

You stayed at the Pan last year right? Do you know if there's any place within the hotel (like the pool) where we can watch the Wonder come in without having to walk to the pier?

It is getting closer to my check in/excursion date, and it just dawned on me that since my SIL has not sailed with Disney before and is in her own cabin, we cannot book excursions at the same time, correct? I am gold and she is a newbie, so we may not be able to book the excursions we want.

Any suggestions on the best way to handle this? I guess not booking thru Disney would be one way.

Not sure why I hadn't thought of this before. :sad2:

No, we stayed across the street at the Fairmont Waterfront last time. Sorry!

Clint is one cruise ahead of me and when we were booking excursions we just booked at his booking window. You might be okay since she is in your stateroom.

I am not worried about the first sailing from San Diego, but she will be in her own cabin for the Alaska sailing, so that will be an issue.

Looking at upcoming releases, it looks like we will have a Maleficent PremEar onboard.

If you link the ressies you may be able to. Seems like I read that on the boards somewhere.

I seem to recall an early post that said there was. I sure hope so, I'll join in the hotel, but I doubt I'd want to walk to the pier.

Sadly we will be leaving the group. Life seems to have another plan for us, so we have decided to cancel our cruises.

I know you will all have a wonder*ful trip.

If the Wonder docks on the Southside of the pier, it looks like we can see it come in from the pool area of the hotel.
