Heather: so sorry about all that has happened in your family recently. I almost missed the story completely until Angie mentioned it in her post. (I tend to do drive-bys over the weekend and end up missing stuff) It sounds like you have an awful lot on your plate right now. And I am so sorry about your little niece. those sort of accidents happen in a split second and cause a lifetime of grief for all involved...my sincere condolences.

yep, if a DVC person wants a specific resort in the first week of December, it pretty much better be their home resort.

I don't go the first week anymore. I go the third weekend in December.

I guess I could start messing around with a cruise logo. I like this one.

What else ya got ?
:lmao:

Happy Mardi Gras all! On days like today I miss being back in Louisiana. In 2010 Mardi Gras day falls on President's day weekend. Maybe we'll actually pull the kids out of school 1 day & let them experience the real thing. They've been to parades but never on Mardi Gras day.

Thank-you for designing a logo, but I really don't feel that one captures the spirit of our group. I know we can be pretty scarey, but not Davey Jones type scarey! How about something a little more upbeat? :thumbsup2

Jeanneg,

Catherine, has designed many a logo!

Even for cruises she has not been on!

She will get something we all like!
I am sure!
:goodvibes

I did get a chuckle out of it !!!!

Pretty cool looking logo.

They got their ressie for the 1st week in Dec. at the VWL, except for one night right in the middle of the trip.:confused3

Thanks Ang and Jeanne!! It really has been a rough year. It was very bad right after the accident with their family all putting the blame on each other. I know that happens, it was just hard to see. The baby's mom has been up here twice now to visit/stay with my sis and BIL. She has an older son (4 yrs old) adn they both stayed here with my sis for a few weeks. Just to get away for a bit.

I'm so glad there is someone great at making logos! That is one thing I know I can't do!! LOL :thumbsup2

We've never been big on the mardi gras thing. But I think it would be neat for you to take the kids to experience the real thing!!!

So, what happens when 10 inches of snow gets melted in one night by heavy thunderstorms? I get a library where the carpet gets soaking wet! I've been moving books and chairs and tables and waiting patiently for Stanley Steamer to get here to suck up all the water. Oh, and it's raining outside right now. I looked in my basement before I left for work and just had a trickle. DS is home from school sick today. I hope he doesn't float away!

Glad there are creative folks to make logos for us. I don't have a creative bone in my body.

Oh my Sandi!! What a mess!!! Ok, so maybe snow isn't so great, huh? I hope it all gets cleaned up easily and your ds is OK. My ds is home sick today also. we tried to go to the walk in clinic this am... it was going to be over a 2 hour wait. So we left and decided to go back later tonight. It seems like the wait isn't so long in the evenings. Ds was feeling somewhat better, but didn't want to sit and wait that long. Plus...everyone there was SICK and coughing and sneezing...DH and I don't need to be getting sick before our trip on Thursday!! ;)

No, no, no. Don't get sick before your trip. I don't envy you the task that you have ahead of you. I can't imagine going to someplace with such bad memories. I heard that there were 20 or so jr. high kids out sick yesterday and today (out of about 100 or so kids). DS had the puking last night, but just called a little bit ago and asked what he could have for lunch. Can't keep a hungry teenager down for long :thumbsup2. Hope your DS feels better. Well the Stanley Steamer van is sitting outside our building. Must be lunch time since they've been there for about 20 minutes. Back to ordering some new books for the library while I wait. Anyone read anything new that they liked? I just ordered updated ACT, SAT, GRE and college scholarship books. Our copies were from 2002.

Heather & Sandi, hope your boys feel better soon.

Question for those with a basement, is it a given that when there are heavy rains that there will be water in the basement. Is the entire basement underground? Guess it's probably not like here where you have walk-out basements. Our house is on a somewhat level lot so no basement for us.

Sandi, good luck with the library. Hope not too many books were ruined.

Sandi, I hope they get there soon to clean up that mess. I'm sure your son won't float away.

Jason's home sick too. He was doing better and then he tried to work until 11 last night. He only made it till about 8. So he's at home resting today and hopefully he'll be better by tomorrow.

I was wondering the same thing Angie. We have a basement and always get water in one area. I don't think it's normal, but I haven't had a chance to do anything about it yet.

I have to vent my frustrations ...

I just found out today that WDW is going to enforce "holiday dining surcharges" for the entire month of June. I have 3 ADRs impacted by that pricing. It's going to be an extra $14/meal for our family ... technically more than that since that does not include tax & extra tip. While that won't break the bank, it's a very big disappointment. Maybe I should send an email to Disney. I guess that's one more way of them to try to get people to do the DDP. I probably would but we bought 10 days of non-expiring tickets last year. So DDP is not cost-effective for us this year... or maybe I should recheck it now that they have raised the dining prices!

Thanks for "listening".

I'm off now ... taking the girls & 2 of their friends to see the Hannah Montana 3d movie. popcorn:: :3dglasses

Have to admit that with Jenn & I, the basement see's very little use!
But the family who lived in the house before us had 3 kids so they loved it!
We just hang here ~~~ Family Room

Davy Jones is a joke.

I could use some help---I don't really want to do another one that has a palm tree and a ship on it.

I understant Tortola is named for turtle doves. Maybe birds.

Sorry, I'm no help with coming up with themes. I have such a hard time with that. I'm much better doing the graphics/layouts.

I do like the turtle dove idea.

Doves??? What about Mickey in a kilt, bottles of Rum, Marti Gras Beads, Pirates. Manly stuff you know.
