We are now under a winter weather advisory...mostly Ice/sleet for now..but they said there may be a snow flurry or two...so DH may be off the hook for taking me and ds out of town when it snowed...hehehe It is cold and in the 20's and 30's here. The heater is working over time.

My sister just called. She has tix to the HM concert in Orlando on Tues. She & her friend couldn't find who the opening act would be. My sister told her friend "Let me call my sister. She'll have a way of finding out." Sure enough ... 2 minutes of poking around on the boards & I found that the opening act will be Everlife. She said that her friend's daughter would be disappointed. They were hoping for the Jonas Bros. like we had here in GA.

Did anyone in AL get snow? We didn't. Last night when we went to bed, I thought we might. But there's none this morning. Busy day for us today.

I am hosting it so I know about it!!! There is still an announcement at the top of the cruise page. I don't know if that will be updated or if I'll update the original thread about it. One way or another though, the location will be disclosed closer to the event.

I'm heading to a real DCL house party (as opposed to virtual) this morning. Hope to see a bunch of you in the chat later!!!

No Snow here in AL Just lots of rain, which of course we need. I was going to stay up and check outside every now and again...but I was just too darn tired!! DH is sick, and tossed and turned the night before...so I didn't get much sleep.

I want to learn a little bit more about the DCL party tonight and how to get there online. I really haven't read about the actual parties thread because I knew that was something I wouldn't be doing. But I would like to do the virtual party tonight!!

We took ds to the walk in clinic the other day to get a refil on his meds. (his dr in FL will not refil it anymore since we are not there to go in the office). We still don't have Insurance so we try to stay away from the dr if possible. We've been to the walk in clinic 3 times now for ds....school physical, sprained ankle and meds. Well...we have to go back in 2 weeks augh! another $75!! Ds has some medical issues that have to get back into control and checked regularly...I hope DH finds a job soon and gets some ins!!!

Anyways..I'll be keeping an eye out for the DCL virtual party tonight!!

Heather, here's hoping that your DH finds a job with good insurance and your DS gets fixed up.
My DD's fiance is having that trouble, too. He found out that he has a pituitary tumor and needs surgery. He had to quit his part-time job in order to qualify for reduced cost coverage. Right now they think he has bronchitis or pneumonia (sp?), but the health clinic is not taking new patients until the end of Feb., the walk-in clinic wants $150 up front, and DD's dr. said $200 up front before they would see him. They are ending up going to the emergency room at the hospital where he'll have his surgery just to be seen by a dr. because they don't have the extra $$ right now! It's crazy. I really feel for those who don't have insurance. I believe my DD would be dying right now if she didn't have insurance. A routine exam last year uncovered cancer cells, and she ended up having 2 different types of cancer; one in her uterus and the other on her ovaries. She would never have gone to the dr. if she hadn't had insurance. Very scary.

It's a good thing your dd went to that check up. Sorry to hear about her fiance. I know that is a horrible situation to be in. Especially being so sick. I did think that the costs for the walk in clinic here were pretty cheap all things considered. Just for us at the moment its not so cheap.

When we just up and moved here to be with Dad, we quit our jobs and held high hopes we'd get jobs here. Once the house sold in FL(Nov 30th), we decided I would try to work from home while dh got a job to get ins and of course to pay the bills. I'll be working hard on the ebay stuff, since the other few at home jobs I found didn't work out. This way I'll be at home and can help with stuff for dad (and mom too). We never thought we'd be without ins this long, and I don't think we would qualify for assistance since living in the house with my parents...it is their house, but we are helping them out. DH has been on interviews...but nothing seems to be working out. Thanks for the well wishes...I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he'll get something soon!!!
