Hi everyone -

Just checking in... we're planning an additional 4-night before this (honeymoon) cruise... my Dad was recently diagnosed with Alzheimer's (in addition to his Parkinson's) and we want him to have a DCL experience while he can still really enjoy it. So, we're doing a 4-night in September.

Did anyone here apply for the Disney CMO position? I did, my video is up on the site... I'm nervous about it!

There are still five days left for people to submit videos. I'm keeping my fingers crossed; it really would be a dream job for me! Hey, if I get picked, maybe there could be some CMO perks on the DCL trip, too!

I guess even if I don't get chosen as a finalist, I'm getting my 15 minutes of fame from having the video up on the site.

I grew up on the south shore - my parents still live there - but now I live near the Nashua border and work in Lexington.

I'm Back!! It really wasn't the best trip...but we did get some Disney time and got to meet up with a friend at DTD. Also DH got to spend time with his family.

About the snow...this is a touchy subject with my family. DH could NOT understand why ds and I would be so upset to miss snow. He grew up in Boston and lots of snow...ds and I have NEVER seen it. And it was SNOWING at our house while we were in orlando. I have to tell you I was a bit...testy...during part of the trip. I got over it...I was just really bummed to have missed it!!! So when will it snow again in AL??? There are still little snowmen around the neighborhood...most of them started falling apart today with the rain. Pretty cool that the kids around here got to do that.

We got our DCL dvd in the mail today. can't wait to watch it. I wonder if they have updated the travel channel DCL show from a few years ago. I wish they'd show it again!!

I think it will be awhile before we get more snow in Alabama. Peter, do you still have any snow you can send to GoofyGal?

Wdwluvrs, I wouldn't worry too much about this cruise selling out. If it was closer to sailing I might worry a little, but even when you go on your cruise it will still be over a year away.

Hi all!

We got back on Monday afternoon from our quick trip to Louisiana. It was cold there too. It was so cold & windy on Sunday that I almost wanted to skip the Mardi Gras parade (the whole reason we took the trip in the 1st place). But we braved the cold & had a blast. There was still a tiny bit of snow in our yard when we got home. It looks like we missed a good snow. I'm not hopeful that it'll snow again this year. We've been here almost 10 years and it seems to have consistently snowed every other year. So, I'll guess we'll have to wait until 2010 for another snow.

The reason that us southerners get sooo excited about snow is because it rarely happens down here. Growing up in Louisiana, I saw it snow only 2 times by the time I was 30! Our snows are different in that we don't have to deal with it like the rest of country - it snows one day, EVERYTHING shuts down then it's gone the next.

It takes a few more days for the snow to clear up here. Everything is normally shut down for about two days, but some of the mountain areas are shut down even longer b/c they take longer to thaw out.

So sorry you missed the snow, Heather. We don't get too much here in NC, but I'm originally a New Yawker and we got LOTS there. It's strange to imagine that you have never ever actually experienced it.

Saving us from page 2! Hey, that's a larger number than our temps outside. It was a frigid -3 when I got to work this morning. What a day for our garage door opener to quit working! Hope everyone is keeping warm. At least we only have a dusting of snow on the ground with rain and 40's predicted for the beginning of the week.

Today Ashley asked if we could go to WDW & on a cruise again. Emily said that she doesn't want to go on a cruise ... WHAT?!!! She said that she didn't have that much fun. I've got 16 more months to work on her! Hopefully there will be some other families w/ younger kids that show up on this thread.

Were you going on the May 25 Mexican Riviera and now on the Panama Canal cruise? If so, you might have posted on the wrong thread (we're going next year on an Eastern).

I think she was just in a "mood". I said "Didn't you like going to the beaches, pools, shows, etc.?" and her answer was "Yes. Yes. Yes." Ashley said that she liked the kids club the best. Then Emily said, "Yea, because yours had a playground!" My kids rarely went to the club. They were 4 & 6 at the time of that cruise. Actually, Emily went more than Ashley. So, I think she really did like it ... just didn't want to admit it. The only time we ever "forced" them to go was on our Palo night.
