May 23, 2009 (5/23/09) E. Caribbean w/Tortola

We got Disney beach towels for christmas, so we are using those. I always like a bigger towel than they offer to wrap up in or lay on, one for a more "pooh-sized" person :thumbsup2

That makes sense...good idea!

This sounds cool! I'd go if mom didn't have her access port put in tomorrow.

I PACKED MY FIRST **FULL** SUITCASE TODAY!!! :woohoo: All those extra things. Mom is loaning me a suitcase to replace the one that has a hole in it! So later this week I may pack the clothes that we won't need to wear now.

I HAVE to start packing early. With everything going on, I KNOW I'll be freaking out as we get closer if I don't feel like I've got some stuff done early!

I don't have anything packed yet. But it sure is nice (even though my daughter moved out) to have an extra room to lay everything out and organize it. I need to at least "practice pack" so that I can balance the weight of the bags. I am using two rolling duffles this time, to keep the weight down.

My prescription snorkel mask has just arrived. And i can actually see through it. :cool1: :cheer2::banana:

Will try it out in the Bath tonight to check it seals ok. :fish:

31 days :dance3::banana::dance3::cheer2:

:confused::confused:

Does anyone know if we will need to take our passports off the ship in Tortola or St. Thomas. If so, we need to get something to keep them waterproof. Any suggestions?? It will need to maintain waterproof in about 20 feet of water.

:donald:

We don't take ours off - If you do want to I would make copies of them to take off.

Just got off checking my cruise plans and there is Palo dinner availability for 1-2 adults first night 8:30 for those interested....

I don't have much to wear either. We are skipping formal night. I'd LOVE to do it, but it's just not in the cards for us this trip. We are OK with missing it. We will "dress up" as much as we can to still have pictures, but it won't be anywhere near formal.

Semi-Formal...unless I can find the time to find something, we'll be skipping that as well.

OH, how much luggage per person is allowed on the ship?????

That is EXACTLY what I was going to say!!!

Please Heather....you CAN still go to the dining room. There will be people dressed in all shapes and forms. Honest.

Heather, we do Palo on formal night. On semi-formal night I just wore a nice dress that I wore to a wedding. Think this year I may wear the dress that I wore to Emily's first communion last year. I was talking to my friend last night. I mentioned to her that I haven't bought any new clothes or swimsuits in so long that I'll look the same as my pictures from 3 years ago!!! :scared1: Oh well!

Most, if not all, of the clothes I'm wearing I've worn on cruises before. I don't think there's one new thing at all. Some are a little snug, but I'm not going out and buying more.
Although......Kohl's is having that great sale....... Nah, they never have anything in my size. pooh:

We sail one month today. Can you believe?

Heather - don't worry about what you wear for formal (or even semi-formal night). Wear what you feel comfortable in and that doesn't require you spending a penny more than you want to (which can be zilch).

I am only intending to wear a posh frock for formal night because i had to buy one for a work dinner last year and for semi-formal night i have a dress that i wore to a wedding a couple of years back - so have them in my wardrobe already - that said i've not tried them on yet so they might not fit (for no apparent reason my chest size (if you know what i mean) has enlarged somewhat over the last year :rolleyes1)

Personally, I'm struggling to cater for cruise casual, all my summer outfits are shorts and tshirts. Will have to spring for new outfits unless i can adapt my work outfits (from the previous week's conference in Atlanta) to be slightly more casual.

Anyway, back to point - Don't miss formal night just because of clothes. :hug:

I would not worry, On our last cruise our table mates were in shorts, they had such a sun burn on their legs they couldn't stand to dress up. No one cared, they were fun people and we enjoyed their comapny any way. We don't really go formal either, just a dress and DH wore a suit.

I guess I should have read on, very well said, everything from Tux's to blue jeans.

I don't do formal evening gowns - more black cocktail dresses. I have collected a few between my cruises and that's about the only time they get used. Maybe before my next I will get motivated to look for some new ones:rotfl:

I agree - although some people get really upset.
On Princess when we cruise I always go change after dinner to go to the casino so that not all my clothes are smokey and gross and some even complain about that:goodvibes

Ok, I'm being lazy here. I admit it. :blush: Does anyone have the FE list broken down in to how many teens & how many kids? Even better is how many girl teens, boy teens, younger girls & younger boys.

Want to run to Target today. Saw some cute things the other day but don't know how many I need.

Thanks.
