May 23, 2009 (5/23/09) E. Caribbean w/Tortola

I hope we plan a meet! I did this on my first cruise (just my ds and I) and it was So nice meeting up the first day. I ran into the same few families all during the cruise. It was nice knowing others on the cruise.

Just finished the FE bags today!!!!!!!Woo Hoo!!

On one of our DCL cruises we met up the first sea day - everyone bought stuff for the kids and they did a treasure hunt while the moms loaded all the loot into bags for when they came back. Then we had a micky ice cream eating contest - one for the kids and one for the adults and did certificates for that. The kids had fun, we had shirts made for the group, it was cool to see people in the shirts and saying hi throughout the week.

I still plan on doing the teens digital treasure hunt for anyone still interested.

Attention everyone!!!!!:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

1:00 in the morning last night and I had the BEST idea!!!!!

I think we need to plan for all of us to get together for "Match Your Mate" in Rockin' Bar D.
We would need the cooperation of one of our newlywed couples. Or if they're shy, we probably have some happily married couple of about 20 years.
I was thinking that the early diners would head to RBD right after the main show, and the late diners as soon as they're finished eating. Grab a bunch of tables together and make lots of noise so our newlywed couple gets on stage. It really is FUN!!! And PRIZES!!!

My husband and I were on there once as the "middle" couple, married 20-some years. My parents were on it as the couple married the longest once, and my daughter & her husband were on last summer as newlyweds.

I can clue you in on some of the questions ahead of time!

So....what do you think???? Newlyweds???? Everyone????

Great idea, we always plan to go to the shows but never seem to get there so if we know we need to meet folks we will at least get there. We have late dinner.

And YES....we are planning our DIS MEET at the sailaway party, right after the lifeboat drill.

Deck 10, Midship, Starboard......wear your green Mickey tags if you have them!!!

Starboard is fun because we can wave at the CM's at port, wearing their big Mickey hands.
That's also looking down at the party below.
Anyone with kids who want to go down to the "dance floor" can either watch them from above, or say their hellos and go on down.

party:party:party:party:

I just asked Aubrey to pick up some lime green mickey tags - will have to see about putting names on them. So glad this cruise is getting close:banana::banana:

found this *** NO MORE EARLY IMMIGRATION CHECK AT ST. THOMAS AS OF 1/17/09 CRUISE ***

its in the forum in the *** DIS DCL FAQ - New Alphabetical Listing of DCL Information *** its #6 on the list

Whoo hoo that is wonderful news. I think the last eastern cruise we were on was in 2006 with Stacey and Angie and some others in this group. I know we had to do it then and it seemed to take forever for everyone to report.

What time is every one getting to the port? We could meet up in the terminal. My Mom can't do the sun, so we usually sit on 9 in the back on either side that have the raised platforms in the shade. But I will try to get up and say ho to every one,

We plan on getting to the port pretty early...when it opens. We'll be wearing our Green Dis Tags...so if anyone sees us just come over and say hello!!!! I'm sure alot of us will be there early and we can meet up and help pass the time!

I know Brandon thought this sounded like a great idea when i mentioned it to him awhile back!!

It sounds like you had a great time on the past cruise!

I was going to start packing some things this evening...but we've been down in the basement 3 times so far for tornado warnings...in our city!! :scared1: We even ate dinner down there! What a evening!!! It is still stormy out...but we are hoping the warnings are over for us now!!

Sorry you are having such a rough evening. We also have tornado warnings but we generally don't take much notice - yikes:scared1:

We also plan on getting there pretty early and hopefully we will have our green mickey's with names or not:woohoo:

Do we want to plan a time for all the teens to meet and get into teams and then they can do the scavenger hunt over a set time and we can meet again to see who found all the things - should we get some prizes for the team?

What kind of green name tags are we wearing? Where did you get them? Sorry, I must have missed that posting - thanks for the help!

We are picking up the lime green mickey paint samples from Home depot and putting our names on those (if I can LOL).
I am either going to wear it in a lanyard or with a pin thru.

I just used the sample that was posted here in a thread awhile back. I typed our names on them, printed them out and laminated them. You could just print it out on cardstock paper and that would work as well!!

That's what I'll do! We always wear lanyards so I can make them lanyard size, thanks!

I've printed the lime green mickey head onto a clear address/mailing label that i will stick to a lanyard card holder when i get onboard (i'm intending on buying a DCL lanyard to keep my kttw in)

I messed around with the picture in photoshop elements to get my Dis name on it in Disney font.

If anyone on the 23 May cruise would like a sticky lime green mickey head doing (with or without name added) just post in here or send me a PM what you'd like and i'll print them up and bring them along on the cruise.

I'll need to set a cut off of 1 May for any requests as i'll need time to create them and get them printed before i finish at work (which is well before the cruise).

I scanned ours into the computer and used Printmaster to print our names on them. We'll wear ours on lanyards.

Here's the Mickey head:

DH and I got some at Home Depot, lol. It was fun! You can't miss the alien green. We were planning on wearing the paint chips on our lanyards for the first day, so we can identify everyone!!!

Well, I got all of my toiletries organized and all the extra junk for the cruise....extension cord, etc. I also had to make a whole different set of toiletries to mail to Omaha for when the baby is born. I only have 2 days at home after the cruise before I go up there, so I'm mailing stuff to my Mom's house ahead of time.

Now I just have to get Jared's things ready for his trip, and all I'll have to do is put it in the luggage.

Sounds interesting... I don't know if DH will want to do it. But it would be fun to watch!!!

Try, try, try to talk him into it!! It is so fun!!! And did I mention PRIZES?? A bottle of champagne....Rainforest pass......

Jeez...Stacey, you are just being too organized. I'm gonna end up just throwing it all in the suitcase & hope I have everything I need. But what more could I need besides a few swim suits, shorts, & waterproof mascara?:confused3
