Visiting WDW parks May 20'th - 23'rd 2004 with our 3 year old son. I plan to spend 2.5 days, off my 4 day WDW touring schedule, in MK because I feel that my son would enjoy more there as opposed to MGM and EPCOT. We are not staying in a Disney Resort, but on HW 192.

Plan (following the new EMH & Night plan for May 9-22)

May 20'st - Entire day MK
May 21'st - AK in the morning and then MGM (for Parade and Fantasmic)
May 22'nd - Entire day MK (to see Spectromagic and fireworks).
May 23'rd - MK in the morning and EPCOT in the afternoon until after Illuminations.

Question:
1. Can someone please critic my plan above, considering that we want to emphasize more on my son's rides and shows than ours?

2. According to the new May 9-22 schedule, MK is the EMH park on 21'st May. May 22'nd is Saturday which could be very crowded. May 23'rd (old EMH schedule could take effect) and MK could become the EMH park for that day. Which, out of the three days is the best for another full day at MK?

3. How crowded would the parks be that week?

Thanks in advance for all your replies.

It would be best to avoid Mk ona Saturday. Especially a EMH day when you are not a resort guest. If you do go to MK on Saturday, get there early and plan on leaving for another park as it wil get busy. Also, make sure you take advantage of fastpasses.

txfriend, welcome to the DIS! :sunny:

We are going to be there same time as you

Offerings by Day of Week (May 9-22)

Sunday - Epcot (evening)
Monday - Disney's Animal Kingdom (morning)
Tuesday - Disney-MGM Studios (evening)
Wednesday - Epcot (morning); Magic Kingdom (evening)
Thursday - Disney's Animal Kingdom (evening)
Friday - Magic Kingdom (morning)
Saturday - Disney-MGM Studios (morning)

May 20th - Thursday - all day MK is a plan - MK is open 0900-2100 - they have recently extended the May hours for MK :teeth:

May 21st - Friday - MK is on Morning EMH - so your plan as offsite guest to go to AK and MGM sounds like a winner

May 22nd - Saturday - looks like a heavy day for MK - park open until 2300 (11pm) and double spectro that night (2100/2300) - it will be busy but I think ok - I would strongly suggest you pace yourself that day so you do not bush out your 3yr old (I speak from experience on this one  )

May 23rd - Sunday - EMH could be back on at MK in the am - in fact, I would think it is safe to assume so at this time

I think your choices are sound and make sense

For what it is worth, my now 4.5yr old DS (whose first trip was at 3.5 yrs old) loves AK and Epcot in addition to MK so I would not assume that MK will be the runaway favourite.

Pace yourself and the family, have a great time and go with the flow as to where to spend your park time

Do you have a touring plan in mind?

thanks

thank you julfre and jaysue for your feedback. Based on your responses I feel that my WDW schedule is OK. I am planning to follow the touring plans from the "Unoffical Guide", at MK and other parks.

Excellent - the touring plans work but do not slave to them

thanks

How about...

Sat - MK in AM, EPCOT after lunch and Night at MK for Spectromagic and Fireworks (assuming Illuminations is covered some other night).

Sun - Mk all day (atleast it won't be crowded by the locals

Will it work?
