May 21, 2012 - Mickey's Mooseketeers Take Alaska 2012!

Since we are starting to get down to the wire here....is anyone interested in things on the ship?

In the past we have done a PJ breakfast, a meet and greet on the first afternoon, a scavenger hunt etc...

Thoughts?

Meet and greet at 3 on first day sounds awesome -- as does PJ breakfast!!!

I just got off the phone with DCL and got the following information:

The 3 dining rotations are:
A) T A P T A P T
B) A P T A P T A
C) P T A P T A P

("T" = Triton's, "A" = Animator's Palace, "P" = Parrot Cay)

Formal/Captain's Gala: Night 2, Tuesday (05/22)
Pirates: Night 4, Thursday (05/24)
Semi-Formal: Night 6, Saturday (05/26)

So depending on your rotation you'd end up with one of the following
Mon - T A P
Tue - A P T (Formal/Captain's Gala Night)
Wed - P T A
Thu - T A P (Pirates Night)
Fri - A P T
Sat - P T A (Semi-Formal Night)
Sun - T A P

You can request a certain rotation and they'll take that into consideration when assigning the rotations, but there's no guarantees. When we requested a specific rotation for our Mexican Riviera cruise in October, we did get the one we asked for.

Brilliant thanks, I was going to ring this week.

Would love to meet up on the 1st afternoon, not sure I could convince DH to breakfast in his PJs, but would also be interested in a scavenger hunt.

A meeting at 3 on Day 1 sounds great! Also, I'm up for a group breakfast, but I doubt if I would come in my pj's :-)

We would be up for meet & greet and possible scavenger hunt. I think we would miss the pj breakfast, though.

We will join you at 9pm West Coast Time. Gotta love that!:cool1:

Good luck! We're at the hardest part - the 5 minutes before they open up! It's the longest five minutes - well, except maybe the five minutes after you pull into the terminal and before they let you off the DCL bus to check in for your cruise. :rotfl:

By far the easiest cruise excursion night I've ever had. It only took 7 minutes! We got Palo brunch and dinner and all three of our first choice excursions! Floatplane, here we come!!

For those who haven't booked yet, the only thing I saw so far that was sold out was the Disney Exclusive Glacier Dog Musher for a Day in Juneau. Good luck to everyone!!

Sorry - double post! DisBoard servers are being strange again, I'm afraid...

Great news. My booking date is 2 weeks tomorrow and as i'm in the UK the magic time is 5am!

What excursions did you pick?

If your booking port excursions yourself not through Disney, when will you book them?

We got all of the excursions we wanted - we were not looking for much. We wanted to do the float in Juneau but it got such poor reviews that we decided against it.

We got brunch on Tracy Arm day :)

As for things to do.... Meet & Greet - 3PM Promenade is a go! We can just have a group breakfast - it doesn't have to be pj's.

We are going through Disney on this cruise but on the cruise the week before, we are doing everyhting on our own. Most of them don't open until 90 days before.

Anyone interested in sharing a bus from Seattle to Vancouver? Car rental is so expensive, we were thinking about getting a bus instead.

We picked the Taku Lodge for Juneau, the Yukon Expedition for Skagway (since the steam train isn't offered this year) and the Lighthouse, Totems and Eagles tour for Ketchikan.

I think if you're booking yourself, you can contact the various companies whenever you'd like. I would assume each one has it's own booking window. We decided to go through Disney, it's our first Alaskan cruise and there's comfort in knowing that if anything happens, the Wonder will wait for us!

We got brunch on Tuesday - we decided against Tracy Arm day after reading on a trip report last year that DCL has a cookout on deck that day.

Ok so about the same time as DCL then thanks.

We are doing brunch on Tracy Arm day too - See you there

I hope to be there as well!

Yes i'm toying with the pros and cons of DCL v DIY.

Oh, that sounds cool! We were planning on hanging out on our balcony with the cameras (both video and still), but we may have to make a trip up on deck if there's going to be a cookout! :)
