Amtrak has service - I priced for the same time this year and it was only $40, I believe. That's what we're planning on using. Evidently there's bus service available that's a little cheaper - but going over the border is supposed to be easier by train.

Hi all!

FYI - we went to Sam's Club tonight and bought $100 Disney gift cards (good on board the ship or at WDW) for $98.62 AND it came with a $10 Disney STORE gift card (not good on the ship or at WDW, but good at Disneyshopping.com). So - $110 for less than $99!

(Not only that - but Mom was buying the gift cards to repay me for putting our WDW dining plan on my Disney rewards credit card - which earned me $5 in rewards for my initial purchase. So - we made out with over $45 in free money between the Sam's deal and the initial purchase!)

I had first heard of this deal on the budget board here - so we've been looking. They're not in all the clubs - we've checked the two in Irving and finally found them at the one on 114 in Grapevine.

Also, I haven't gotten to verify this one, but Kroger supposedly has a deal where you buy a three-pack of $15 Disney cards (good on the ship or at WDW) and you get a $5 off your next visit at Kroger coupon. One lady would buy the three-pack, get the coupon, then go back and buy another three-pack and use the $5 coupon to bring the price down to $40. That and I believe Kroger is giving double gas credit on gift card purchases right now. Again, this is unconfirmed - but might be worth checking. Especially if you have Easter baskets that need filling!

this will be our first cruise of any kind, and we will be celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary on day two of the May 21st Alaska cruise... chose this because of too many episodes of the Love Boat in my past...

I might have to look at our Kroger store and see if I can do that... Would be totally worth it!

FE is Fish Extender - participants buy small gifts, mostly little party gag gift types and hand out to all other participants. It was really fun to come back and figure out what was in our FE :)

Sorry - I have been MIA lately - will update everything now that my DD is done with school for the year.

We rebooked last week while on the cruise!:woohoo::yay: Now, though, I have to call DCL, I thought I was booking gty and I was assigned a stateroom.

We met a very nice lady on board who had cruised the inaugural Alaska cruise who was from Buffalo. She said there were maybe only 20 people on deck for pirate night - and they were wearing earmuffs and scarves because it was so cold! Us poor Texas girls are going to freeze!!!

Welcome!

Welcome aboard Michelle! Why do you want GTY?

Honestly, the chance at a free upgrade. From what I've seen, once you're locked into a stateroom number, you very, very rarely get upgraded. However, everytime we've gone GTY in the past, we've gotten some pixie dust. I know that it's not definite that we'd get upgraded, but it just seems like a good idea to leave the door open for Tinkerbell! ;)

Thanks! I am already on the list - I just finally got the cruise booked! For now, though, it looks like we'll be keeping our stateroom - 2110.

Hi all!

We started working on our FE's last night! I know it's early, but we've been feeling like we need to do something for the cruise and this ended up being the winning project!

Now, just 10 3/4 more months to wait...

Congrats! I haven't thought that far ahead. I am on a cruise in October and working on those right now.

The time will pass before we know it.

I see. Since we're doing back 2 back cruises I think we're more interested in making sure we don't have to move. Although being upgraded to a stateroom for 5 instead of 4 would be good too LOL!

I haven't gotten that far yet either!
