May 21, 2012 - Mickey's Mooseketeers Take Alaska 2012!

I got an e-mail from an interline travel agency showing our date as a new addition. However, when I called DCL to book, they said that it wouldn't be available for booking until the 5th.

that said - I called DCL about an hour ago and the cruise is still not available for interline rates. I'm just hoping they decide to release the rates today or tomorrow, otherwise we're in the cancellation penalty phase - which would probably eat up any savings...

My understanding is that most travel agents don't work with interline rates - but your MIL might contact DCL directly to see if she's eligible or work with one of the interline travel agencies on line once they are available. (I've used interlinerates.com and dargal.com in the past and been happy with both of them.)

hope this helps!!!
Michelle

Thanks. My MIL called Disney but since we are using a travel agent they wouldn't even talk to her. In fact she said she got a really really rude person that talked to MIL like she was an idiot for even asking since she is paid in full.

Hi all!

If you have a child on the FE, would you mind sending me a PM specifying male or female? There are some names that could be either male or female and there are some families that have chosen to not provide names. (I will also try to go back through and see which were identified as such in the initial requests.)

Thanks!!
Michelle

It gave me a weird error when I tried to PM you my email address and that we have 3 crazy girls. When we travel, they'll be 5, almost 3 and 4mo :scared1:

The FE is officially closed - however - there are a few travellers on the roll call that I did not hear from with a yes or no - please take a moment to check out page 1 and verify that I have you correctly listed under FE.

We will give it a few days to hear any changes and then close it for good so that everyone can prep!

Thanks!

I wonder what was happening? Oh well - I've got the update made! Thanks!

Fuzzy Disney Math works its Magic again!!

We were toying with the idea of cancelling and rebooking with the IGT rate (after cancellation fees would hae saved around $75 on our oceanview), but had decided against that because we potentially could end up in a stateroom with two portholes and we didn't want that.

So, we looked at cancelling and rebooking with the VGT rate (after the cancellation fees, it would have cost us an additional $400), but we had the potential of losing our Palo times and excursions because we would have to cancel and rebook everything.

So, we looked at just doing a straight upgrad on our current ressie through DCL - amazingly it would cost exactly the same as the extra we would have to pay if we cancelled and rebooked plust the cancellation fee we would incur! So, we got the best of all worlds - we're now proud owners of a 6A GTY stateroom on the Wonder!! :woohoo:

I know we're not the only GTYs, so if everyone on the FE exchange is ok, I'll wait until our staterooms get assigned before sending the updated list out to reflect stateroom number changes.

Curious what you upgraded from? I was also eyeing those VGT rates!! It looks like if we upgraded from OV to Verandah, it would cost us the penalty, plus about $1500. Maybe I'm not looking at this correctly though.

Hello

We are also travelling with you all on this alaska cruise. We booked this trip half a year ago.

Which port adventure you all going to do? we booked the one with the characters experiences but for the rest we don't now what to choose.

greets

I think I see what the difference is now. You must not need a quad cabin. I can't book into a 6A with four people. I have to go up to a 5C.

Welcome!!

We booked the Taku Lodge Flight, the Yukon adventure and the Eagles, Lighthouse and Totem Pole tour. Mom's not big on the characters - and I can get my fill on the ship!

You're right - there's only 2 of us. The upgrade actually ran $300/pp for us. But we decided we are worth it! :thumbsup2

I was wondering if anybody had any suggestions as to activities, restaurants and best mode of transportation in Vancouver? I've never been and the area is so huge....I just can't make up my mind!!! Any input would be very much appreciated :goodvibes

I called the hotel we are staying at in Vancouver and they suggested taking a taxi from the Amtrak station. The lady said there would be a cab line up outside of the Amtrak station. She said it would be about $15 to $20 for the ride.:surfweb:

Anyone made plans to get back to Seattle airport, other than through Disney cruise line? We are looking at options since we have a few extra hours between leaving and flight time. Thanks

Light Rail goes from downtown directly to Seatec. That's what we plan on doing.

We plan to get that as well. Its pretty cheap about $3 each. You get it from the Westlake Center.

Any estimates how much a taxi would be from Pier 91 to Westlake Center where you get the light rail?

I have updated the roll call. We are officially 19 FE cabins. We will have an official list once we get the GTY cabin numbers.

Thank you to MRP4352 to putting the list together! If you are a GTY - please send a PM so the list can be updated.

Thank you!

Wow 3 people celebrating 40th birthday! When is the actual birthday? Steve's is May 16th.
