May 20th 2006 Western Magic Cruise - Who's Going?

 :cheer2: :cool1: Got them....Got them!! :cool1: :cheer2:

We bought through Costco so it was sent to them first and then they sent them to us yesterday! I feel much better! Page 4 is in there but I thought there would be a lot more to the docs. Just the little booklet that barely has anything in it. Still, I'm excited because I don't have anything to compare it to since it's our first cruise! I'm anxious yet getting really nervous about all of the packing of the infant items (diapers, wipes, baby food, etc). You can only imagine! 2 carseats, strollers, all of the baby items.....where will we put our clothes? :confused3

Can't wait to see all of you in 15 days!! Did I mention 15 days??

When I have cruised Disney before, I remember that the ship was very cold to me. So I also had a light weight sweater with me. I guess it just depends on how cold natured you are. On the decks I remember it really being pleasant. I cruised in Jan and Oct though.

I thought it was a little cool in the dining rooms and shows on our May, 2004 Wonder cruise to the Bahamas. It could get pretty windy up on Deck 9 and 10 in the evenings too. I usually wore a light sweater/jacket but then I get cold very easily. I like hot summer weather.

Did anyone get a list with their cruise docs of how much to tip their stateroom host and dining attendants per day? I was getting ready to get my envelopes ready and realized that it wasn't in mine this time. I like to put the minimum in now and then add extra if we feel they deserve more.

Thanks!

Yes, leave it to me...I got that page too :rotfl2:
We all need to get together and see what pages we all got. There was one page torn out of mine...wonder what was on it.
Ok the gratuitity guidelines info:
7 night cruise: Per Person
Restaurant server: 25.75
Restaurant assistant server: 18.75
Head server: 6.50
Stateroom host/hostess: 25.25
Room service: your discretion

Hope this helps! :cheer2:

Thanks, NurseChel! That is just what I was looking for.

Our docs only included the following:

Letter from DCL
Bahamas immigration form
Luggage tags
Booklet of cardstock stapled together with:
Mailing information
DCL/DME transportation use only
Important Messages (2 pages)
Ground transfer information
Transfer purchase information

We rebooked on our May, 2004 cruise and then switched to this cruise as soon as these dates became available. We didn't transfer our reservation to a travel agent but stayed with DCL directly and we did the online checkin.

It doesn't make sense why everyone got different things.

Could it be that maybe we are supposed to buy the transfer options but not tip anyone? :confused3 Just kidding!

Donna

Donmil,
We booked directly through DCL also, and I filled out the online check-in.
We didnt get a letter from DCL.

Our documents included:
Bahamas immigration form
Luggage tags
Booklet of cardstock stapled together with:
Mailing information
DCL/DME transportation use only
Vacation itinerary
Sailing itinerary
Important Messages (2 pages)
Gratuity guidelines info
Ground transfer information
Transfer purchase information
Payment authorization form
Embarkation-departure form
Cruise contract signature form

I was disappointed there wasnt a letter with the documents though. at least something giving directions to port, hotel options, times port opens, what time they start boarding, etc. If it were not for this forum, I would be clueless! So A BIG THANK YOU DIS!!!! :disrocks: :disrocks:

NurseChel, the letter basically just thanked us for completing the cruise forms online and to remind us to print and sign the check-in signature form and payment authorization form and bring it with us to the port. And to review the docs they sent us and to complete the Bahamas Immigration Form before arriving at port. And to keep these forms with us in our day bag. It didn't include anything about directions to the port, opening time for port, etc.

You are absolutely right about the Dis boards. The information that is shared is invaluable!

Two weeks from today we'll be heading to Key West on the Magic! YES!!!!

Donna

We will be anty30, booked for 10am :woohoo: yeeeeeeeeeehaaaaaaaaaaa

We will be at WDW. Right now plans are to leave there about 10:30 a.m. or so and arriving at the port between 11:30 and Noon. Hopefully, by then they will have started boarding and the DCL busses from WDW won't have arrived yet and we won't have long to wait.

Here is the link for the tip calculator, if anyone is interested. It can round it to even amounts and even lists the number of bills of each type needed.

I don't have mine ready yet, but I'm planning to. For our family of five, it comes to $400! That's alot of Magical service!

Howdy everyone,
Please excuse me for posting on your thread, however since your cruise is close I just wanted to make sure that all of you who are driving to the port know about the road closures due to all the smoke from the brush fires here in Florida. If you live out of state and are renting a car you may not of heard about this. They say the problem will be around for several more weeks, since they cant put out the fires, they just have to let them burn out on their own. The main routes to the port are closed, then the wind shifts and even more will be closed. There are alternate routes but they will take a lot longer to get to the port, so please adjust your time accordingly. I just didnt want any of you to miss the ship! WE came close to it ourselves last thursday and I didnt want this to happen to any of you!!
The radio station to tune to was 1300 a.m. but it didnt have naything, but when you get ready to leave, call 511 and you will get an update on the closures. I hope this will help some of you who might be flying in and dont even know about these fires.

Again, please forgive me for jumping in on your thread, but I was concerned someone might miss the ship if they didint know ahea dof time to plan for these closures. I dont want that to ever happen to anyone.

Have a Magical cruise, :wizard:

She will probably love it if once she gives it a chance. On our 3 day last year, my 11 year old's first comment was "lame" but by the end of the 1st evening she had a blast, met friends, and wanted to spend every possible minute there. All three of my girls chose to be with their Club friends all day on Castaway Cay. We let them stay until midnight at the Clubs and they never got bored! Maybe you could show her the Navigators.

If you think it would help, my DS 11 is Mallory and she will be glad to hook up with her. We are in 2594 and 2596. Feel free to have her send a PM and Mallory will tell her 1st hand how much fun it is- then they can meet in person at our DIS gathering. Sometimes things are easier if you have a friend!

No don't ask for fogiveness, THANK YOU!! Thank you for thinking about us cruisers leaving next week! I had heard about the fires but didn't think they affected us directly. When we rent our car, do you think they would have the correct updates to tell us which way to go? Since we are first time cruisers, we have no idea what the area is like and how to get there.

Thanks again Mom X4, Grandma X4!
