May 2018 AP Rates

I really thought today would be the day too. It's really frustrating. I got the AP's primarily because we were taking 2 long trips in a year (just under a year apart) and it saved us a little money with tickets, TiW and getting the photo downloads. But, I was also hoping for hotel discounts (for the upcoming trip) too.

Yep you're right, I just looked and 2017, 2016, 2015 were all released on a Thursday.... 2014 was a Wednesday.

I actually have a reservation at POFQ for 8 days later in April. I found a couple more days online to add to my reservation but called WDW last Thursday to ask them to add them to combine with my existing reservation to make things easier. The agent was having a little difficulty with the system being slow and eventually got help from another department. When she came back to the conversation, she said that Mickey was making some "magical enhancements" to the system which necessitated her contacting someone else. So, I took the opportunity to lightly comment by saying ".......such as adding the Passholder late spring discounts?" She giggled and said that she could neither confirm or deny that was what was happening. She knew exactly what I was referring to but couldn't say anymore. Obviously, that didn't materialize as soon as I had hoped!

I've been coming to WDW since it opened and am a WDW Charter annual passholder so I'm not new to this process, but I think this is pretty much the latest I've ever seen the discounts be issued for this time of year. Though I have an existing reservation, I might alter the resort choice and /or dates slightly depending on the AP discount details / exclusions so I'm hoping they come out before my FP+ 60 timeframe opens at the end of the week, in case I need to change the dates at all!

Normally, there is a late spring offer that goes through the end of May or first week of June and then a summer offer that goes into part of August. At this point, though, WDW is extremely hard to predict other than the fact that there are normally AP discounts issued. They are not normally issued for all the the resorts or for all of the resort views / locations, however, so who knows what the details will be. It's very obvious to me that there are not a tremendous amount of available rooms during the time I'm going, though.

Thanks! I am grateful for getting a Sun and Fun rate at BWI but we don't have to stay there if something else came up.

yes, AP rates out into June. Can't modify mine yet but it looks like my room isn't available anyway... may just keep what I have rather than downgrade.

I am waiting for the phone lines to open to see if this discount is actually beneficial for our existing reservation. I hate when they don’t list specifics in the offer.

I already have a bounceback booked but was hoping the AP rates would save some more. It maybe would have except no more standard rooms left so if upgrade then still $200 more than bounceback price for two rooms with “water view” at AP discount. Guess I will keep it as it is. Oh well. Disappointing! At least we know now!

Not much availability for our dates but did manage to get BWI for about $200 less since Standard view was available instead of the Garden view I have booked. It is better than nothing!

AP discounts for Deluxes are 15-25%. CM said they are just about sold out at resorts through April 2018. No advantage here.

We are booked at AoA at the end of April. Looks like the AP rates are only 15% off - which is the same as a pin code I already had booked, so no additional discount.

We have a reservation at OKW under the "sun & fun" dicount. I was able to change it to the new pass holder discount, which saved us about $200. A 25% discount, if I'm not mistaken. I'd prefer 30% but I'll take what I can get.
