Good Morning DISers,

It is looking like we will be headed to DW in May of 2017. We have not been since July 2011 so we are quite excited (even though it's 14 months out). This will be the first trip with my DS(3). My wife and I went together last time and loved it! We are thinking about staying at the Art of Animation on-site and have heard great things about it. We will probably be spending a couple of days in MK, 1 day in AK, and 1 in the others. I have heard the weather in May is pretty nice, especially compared to July! I guess I said all of that to ask, when did you all begin planning? How far out?

I start planning as soon as I want to take a trip! We are going next month and honestly....are hoping to be able to afford to be able to go again next year (possibly early May at Art of Animation!!!) I seriously have already been pricing, plotting and planning for in case we manage to make this happen!

I already booked a room for May 2017 and am working on touring plans and ADRs :)
Oh wow! Booked already? I've looked online at those dates next year but can't seem to pull anything up on the Disney site that far out

That's awesome! Y'all will be there at the same time we will in the same resort. It's a small world after all haha

Disney accepts bookings at 499 days in advance. You will see this years prices, but they will update them once next years prices are released. If you are within 499 days and can not see it on the web site, try calling

Thank you! this is extremely helpful!

We had a week planned in May of 2017, but just recently changed our minds and are going to do a land and sea trip.

Fly up on Friday evening, parks on Saturday and Sunday, 4 night cruise on Monday then come back for another day and a half in the parks before flying home on Sunday.

It's more money, but I think a better value for how much we can get done.

It's never too early, lol.

We're planning late June 2017. Possibly July however, as it looks as though my parents and brother may join us on our next trip, and the earliest they can go is first week of July. So that part is a bit up in the air, but we already know where we're staying (booking an off-site house), and will be putting the deposit down on that ASAP, she realizes our dates may change. Other than that, we're trying to decide what are the "big things" we "must do", so we can figure out how many days we want in each park, because we're going to be adding some other attractions this time (Legoland etc...), so trying to get a budget figured out, decide what we can do etc...

Other than that, not much else that can be done until about 6 months before when we pick any dining, and then later picking FP+. We won't be bothering with Touring Plans etc... just basically a daily list of what we have for FP+, and probably a few "must dos".
