*** May 2017 Disneyland Check-In ***

I just checked the 10 day forecast and its calling for rain while we are there....NOOO. I live in Oregon. We always have rain, but this year has been crazy. I wanted a break so badly from it. Fingers crossed it changes for us. :sad2:

We will be there at the same time, just looked at the weather forecast, and had the same reaction! Our fingers will be crossed as well, but if it does rain we will just throw on our rain jackets and be thankful for the lower crowds. Still, you're right, the nice weather is one of the reasons to go to sunny L.A.!

We're from Oregon too and as much as I'd like to get out of the rainy weather, I don't mind a little rain at DL. Keeps the crowds away and doesn't usually rain nonstop all day like here :). I checked different weather sites and one is saying hot weather next week, weird

Two more weeks :)

Storytellers Cafe is doing a special Mother's Day thing and character will be out all day so we decided to move my sons birthday there since we aren't staying at DLH anymore. Confirmed again that the fountain pool will be open 5/15...I was thinking they would all be open, but oh well!

We requested connecting rooms at GCH, and I'm wondering how likely that is to get?

I'm also wondering how necessary MSEP packages are now. I know at first it was bananas - and when I did AO's package I wasn't kind of disappointed because it was even packed in there! So this time we're doing BB, but I'm wondering if it's totally necessary because we wouldn't choose to eat there for 4 picky eating kids if not for the parade viewing. Any thoughts?

I've read that since they don't allow people to camp for hours before the parades now, that it's not as hard to get a good viewing spot now. It's just something I've read though so I won't know until we go (just over a week woohoo). I'm not going to do the dining package, I don't think it's necessary and with our picky eater it would just be a waste of money if we can get a good spot without it.

May 1st!! Check-ins always seem to get pretty quiet once the month its for rolls around. So just in case the chit chat slows...I hope everyone's trips are magical! Once you've gone, it would be fun to report back with the most memorable thing that happened! :wizard:

I've got 5 days left for the weather to change its mind...but just in case I went and bought a new light rain coat to take along. My sister went right after the 60th started, and it poured on her in July. I just asked her what rides closed, and she said everything but dark rides. You guys are right about trying to see the possible positive side, hope that it will lower local attendance. Hakuna Matata!

Phew!! Here now. Day 1 and happy to be here but its pretty hot and definitely
crowded. First time coming at this time of year so wasnt completely sure what to expect. Hoping it gets better as the week goes on. Any Disney day is a good day!

Crowds are higher than we expected too and we have been this time of year.
But any time at Disney is good for sure!
Heat hasn't been too bad. Much hotter Sunday than yesterday.

one more week!!! so much to do and so little time.....
just looked at the weather and I can work with what is in the forecast, fingers crossed it doesn't change too much!
We do have ressies for MSEP at BB on Wednesday night but may cancel and just wing it with finding a curb spot

I don't mind the rain predicted the first couple of days we are there, except for the night of the 7th which is when we have the MSEP BB ressie :scared:

When my mom and I did AO MSEP reservations back in Feb, it ended up getting cancelled due to rain and I was so bummed but ended up buying a package for the following day. I later discovered that Disney allowed folks to keep their entry ticket for the following night! I always thought you were SOL if things were cancelled, so I wasted money on that second night...oh well. Point is, if your rained out, ask a CM if your ticket will be good for the next night.

We know a lot of California families that are going this month before the SO Cal half price tickets expire 5/25. I figured that may increase crowds a bit...

Guest services just responded to my email asking if the Monorail was going down the 15th of May. I was concerned because I was looking forward to taking it from the Disneyland Hotel into the park during our visit the 16th through the 19th and I heard it was going down for refurb on the 15th. I was told the new date is May 25th through June 17th.

That's odd - it's still on the refurb schedule
