May 2011 Yo Ho Ho! Let Down Your Hair! (New 10/9 Lessons Learned #550)

hey Marsha

I forget when you were coming home

So, are you home yet? popcorn::

I just went and looked... today was her last day :sad1:

Hey guys!

Yes, we got home yesterday. The fantasy train arrived late in FL and the reality train arrived early in VA. Go figure!!

I'm going to work on my photos and unpacking and then I'll start my post-trip report.

I'm in that 'after-Disney funk' ... we had a blast but I'm so wishing I was back! You all know what I mean...

Welcome home! I hate that you are suffering from post-Disney blues. I get those every year. We are headed out to Disney tomorrow after work so I'll probably miss the start of your report. I'll definitely look for it when I get back.

welcome back! depending on how fast you get it up I may catch a little before I leave :) Otherwise I'll have a lot to read when I get home!:goodvibes

Welcome back!! I hope you have an easy case of the I wish I was still theres!!:flower3:

Welcome Home

After Disney Blues are the worst

Just think after you get your TR started, you can start planning your next trip...beauty of DVC :wizard:

Welcome back! Can't wait to read the trip report. I think we just missed you on the Safari - did you get my note - :lmao:

Welcome back! It's always sad to leave Disney. Can we ever spend enough time there? I look forward to reading about your trip. Maybe that will help ease the Disney blues, re-living your trip while writing a TR?

i'm glad you got home safely. i dont think that i ever saw your group unfortunately. i didn't see any LGMH at all, come to think of it. cant wait to hear about it. if you want to whine about the disney funk you can do so on my page- i'm feeling it too, hard. :goodvibes

Have a great trip!! I need to catchup on your report but hopefully will do that before you get back!

Have a wonderful trip!! I don't think I saw your link for a PTR...if you are doing a trip report, please let me know. I'd love to see it!

Welcome back!! I hope you have an easy case of the I wish I was still theres!!:flower3:

Thanks! I think I'm over it now. I was really looking forward to a day, well actually a couple of hours, by myself on Monday -- RAchel in school, Elie napping and Jerry at work. but then he told me on Monday AM that he took off work and would be home tinkering around!

My first thought was -- man, wish I could take a day off work, too!:rotfl2: But it was great he was around -- we ended up getting an ant infestation while we were away and he dealt with that. Then one of our computers had a power failure so he replaced that.

Welcome Home

After Disney Blues are the worst

Yes!! That is the beauty of DVC -- and the Disney funk is definitely not as bad as it used to be. I used to cry every trip to the airport. Now, I don't cry anymore...I do know I'll be back.

I just like living in a fantasy! (That's what I want the Tag Fairies to tag me with!!)

Welcome back! Can't wait to read the trip report. I think we just missed you on the Safari - did you get my note - :lmao:

Yes!!! I was soooo excited when I saw the note! Jerry was like, must be a Disser. RAchel was like, "mommy, who is this?" It was soooo cool.

Welcome back! It's always sad to leave Disney. Can we ever spend enough time there? I look forward to reading about your trip. Maybe that will help ease the Disney blues, re-living your trip while writing a TR?

Yep, you are right. I love reliving our trip and then reading other's people trip reports to get more ideas, etc.

I will say, that in one way I thought this was the longest trip ever to Disney ... and it wasn't. That's just a little hint about the trip...;):rolleyes1

Welcome back, Marsha. I won't say "home", because I know where home really is!

you got it!! Actually, Jerry asked me while down there if he should look for a job closer to WDW. I took a moment and said, no. I do want to live closer to Disney and be able to do Sea World, Universal, etc. But my parents are only 3 hours away and they are getting older...Jerry has family here. We have a great house, wonderful friends and a good school.

I told him, I do plan on moving to Florida one day...but I think it should be after the girls finish school.

Now, was I stupid for saying that???!!??:confused3

Welcome back! Can't wait to hear all about the trip!! :)

Thank you!! {Almost} everything was good -- from the train, to the resort and back to the train again!

i'm glad you got home safely. i dont think that i ever saw your group unfortunately. i didn't see any LGMH at all, come to think of it. cant wait to hear about it. if you want to whine about the disney funk you can do so on my page- i'm feeling it too, hard. :goodvibes

Will be checking in on all the 'now post-trip' reports. I can't wait to hear about your vacation. I only saw 1 person -- Carrie -- twice, in fact, then got a little note from lledman at the AK Safari and at HS the table next to us was another Disser.

But I never saw a LGMH either.

Actually, we saw each other 3 times. What are the odds of bumping into the same person 3 days in a row at 2 different parks at Disney World?? :rotfl: I still can't believe I recognized you from so far away the first time!!

I'm happy to see you had a great time! We did, too. But man, am I tired!! And somehow I ended up with 1/2 a sore throat that has slowly migrated to the other half now that the first half feels better. Go figure. :confused3

I hope your girls had a great time at Cinderella's Royal Table!! I can't wait to see all of your pictures. I think my husband took over 5,000 pictures, so I have no idea when he's going to be finished with sorting through and editing them. But as soon as he does, I'll post a link on my FB page or email it to you.

My after-Disney funk caused me to book a November trip after being home less than 24 hours. :lmao:

Actually, I was just thinking that today -- we also saw you on Sunday when we were in front of Morocco, I think.

So cool that we got to meet .. and multiple times.

I'm glad you guys had a good vaca too! We ended up getting "a little sick" during the week, too -- some was allergies and some was from the wildfires' smoke...but all the women in the family came home with coughs.

AWESOME!!! If you do a PTR, let me know. We went November 2009 and November 2010...it's going to seem odd not to go again this year, but Jerry wanted time to put up his Halloween and Christmas decorations...so our next trip is January 2012. Which is good as it gives me 2 months to book ADRs and plan our week out.

Is that what that smell was? Brett thought that's what it was, but I didn't think they were that close. I guess that could be why my throat got sore. Sorry you guys weren't feeling too well. Weird that we could only really smell it in the evening.

:goodvibes exactly what I was thinking....but I am still sadly bummed that our next trips don't match w/ dates :sad1: can't wait to see the pix and hear the stories especially the Pixar event...hope you managed that!

Yes, they announced on our tram that the awful smell was the wildfires ... and asked if anyone was a firefighter and would like to stay and help!! The guy was just joking about the helping. It was REALLY bad when we left MK on Friday night. It felt exactly like you were down wind and only 10' away from a campfire.

We didn't smell it in MK ... but I know we had sore throats and coughs all week and couldn't figure it out either. So the smoke was definitely in the air. My mom ended up going to the "Disney Doctor" to get a prescription for her asythma .... they said they were getting inundated with requests ... many people had trouble breathing.

I know, Julie! I'd love to have another trip together ... but I really don't want to go during a holiday...we purposely picked January to have LOW crowds, esp since we are taking 1st-timers and will have multiple strollers.:thumbsup2

But who knows...I can't make our ressies until mid-late June, so we'll see what's available then.

I forget, where are you staying? Right now we are planning on staying a AKL-Jambo value, since it's the cheapest points...but if our friends change their mind about going (they are trying to get pregnant...), that may change our resort and/or dates.

Having another trip to plan should help the Disney blues! I love going in January with the lower crowd levels. Just a lot of Brazilians, but we've never had a problem, we just avoid them. We've usually lucked out with weather, though it was a little chillier this year. I must admit, I'm looking forward to more green grass and flowers going in July. The colder weather usually takes it's toll on things! I'm debating if I'll have enough vacation left to fit in a trip in December, or wait until January like usual. I really want to see the Christmas decorations, and eventually Halloween!

Look forward to reading all about your trip!

Signing on! Better late than never right??? ;) Love everything sofar and I am only on page 6!! :goodvibes

Yes, I'm now over the Disney blues...excited about getting my photopass pictures done and sharing our trip with all of you! Then I can concentrate on our January trip and see how many points we have left over to plan our next one.

I, too, want to go for the Halloween party. We'ver done the Pirate and Princess and the Christmas one ... just need to do the Halloween party now.

I'm not expecting warm weather for January -- just something better than the cold, dark, dreariness of a Virginia January!! Although another one of my DIS friends just told me that they even did a water park in January...so I guess you never know!

Signing on! Better late than never right??? ;) Love everything sofar and I am only on page 6!! :goodvibes

Oh, thanks for joinig Lee Lee!! You don't have a whole lot of pages to get caught up on ...mostly the pre-trip was getting ready and our Disney dinner parties.

I probably won't be ready to update this trip until late this week. I've worked for 3 days on my photopass pictures and still have 104 more to do!!:scared1:
