Today is Sunday, May 11th -- Mother's Day.
We got up early (7:45am) so we could be in DHS before 9am. We were able to watch the opening show and then headed straight to Toy Story Mania. I had heard about 2 weeks before our trip that DVC members would be able to participate in a special preview of TSM this weekend.
The ride is great and I have tons of photos but I'm sure you all saw them already on other threads. But I'll just post a few. The ride is terrific! I love "competitive" rides like Buzz Lightyear and Men In Black (Universal), so this is definitely a hit. It's just plain cute and VERY easy to shoot since your car doesn't move while you are shooting.
There are so many larger-than-life toys in here -- it brings back tons of memories for adults. They are on the ceiling, on the walls, on the floor, etc
** EDIT: Pics are not presented in order ... **
We found four Hidden Mickeys inside the ride (there are supposed to be at least 4) and there are 2 in the line, but we didn't find them.
Here is one of the easier HM (but I admit I didn't see it until someone pointed it out to me!)
Here is my DD on the ride
My DD's best score (the 18,800 one!) Notice that you get a "prize" on the screen when you are done -- just like at a carnival!
My high score (the 181,100).
So all in all, we rode first time at TSM all the way through. Immediately went back to get in line and it broke down. And that's when my parents showed up to ride TSM. They had just missed it! So then we went to do the characters.
Chip and Dale!
Stitch
Look who DD got to finally meet -- she certainly gave hugs and kisses this time!
And I was thrilled b/c Minnie absolutely LOVED the Alphabet book. This is a picture of her clapping my praise!
DD was so happy that she finally got to meet Minnie -- she couldn't stop smiling! This pic with my Father and DD was taken immediately after Minnie left.
Before leaving for lunch, we tried to do TSM again -- it was re-opened so we went on again. It broke down again and we had to be escorted out of the ride. This was really cool, b/c they turned on all the lights and we were able to see a whole lot more. For our trouble, we did get re-entry passes.
This is where I was sneaky. They were only giving passes to one member of the party. So I told DH to go ahead of me and get tickets for him (he was able to get 5 so my parents could join) and then when it was my turn to pass the CM, I got 3.
Then since we were running really late for lunch, we ran out of the park ** EDITED ** ... to Le Cellier. I had phoned my parents ahead of time to let them know we were stuck on the ride and the kind folks at Le Cellier said, no problem.
For lunch I decided to get the Halibut (instead of the infamous Filet Mignon) and I totally made the right choice!! This was wonderful. For dessert, I had previously always gotten the Whiskey Cake -- but now I have my new favorite -- The Chocolate Moose! YUM!!!
Then a family picture (notice how color coordinated we are!!)
After lunch, we went back to the room to pack and take a nap. DD was atrocious at lunch and hardly ate. So finally we let her sit on the floor under the table and play where she started to fall asleep. Normally I don't like to do this but it was obvious that our vacation was catching up with her...
We offered our extra TSM passes to my parents but my Dad was in a hurry to get to Myrtle Beach (the 2nd part of their trip). I tried to convince them they should give it a try -- it was an incredible ride but oh well, their loss.
After nap, we went back to DHS to see if we could ride TSM again. Along the way we met fellow Disser PNMunch.
We were able to ride TSM 2 more times (woo hoo!!), grabbed dinner at the ABC Commissary (fish and chips) and ate it while in line for TSM again. (We gave our extra 2 tickets to another couple. By then we were tired so decided to get a snack and leave.
On the way out of DHS, I couldn't stop but to take a picture of this couple...gosh, do you think they were tired??
Then of course, one more "crazy hat" photo session
Isn't s/he a beautiful princess??
That evening, my DD said, "Mommy, I want to go home." I asked her, you mean our Disney home?
"No Mommy, home to my own bed with my toys and Butterscotch and Smokey' (our 2 cats).
She certainly cannot be MY daughter!!
Then right as we were tucking her in bed, she told us that her little teddy bear, small cat and new stuffed Mickey Mouse didn't ride Goofy's Barnstormer yet!!
Hmmm, maybe she is my Daughter, after all!!
