Before I start the new day in AK, I forgot to post these pictures from Magic Kingdom.
Here is DD's first ride on Goofy's Barnstormer!!
She liked it but was "a little bit scared"...we went on it twice -- once so she could ride with Daddy and once with Mommy!
OK -- extra credit trivia challenge. Look at these pictures below and tell me Where in the World are You?
Still don't know? How about this one?
===================
Today is May 7th and we went to Animal Kingdom today. We got to the park about 20 minutes after opening which is great for us and I immediately went to Expedition Everest to get FPs for DH and I and then to ride on it.
Meanwhile, DH went with DD to get some autographs and pics and then we switched off so we were each able to ride it twice -- I just love this ride -- so cool!
DH was really funny -- he obviously knows me well! He said there were 2 lines -- one with Pooh/Piglet and one with Eeyore/Tigger. Which one do you think he chose first?
DD really loved meeting Eeyore
She didn't seem too sure of Tigger.
Then we got on Triceratop Spin and met up with my parents in the park. My mom, DH and I rode Primeval Whirl (I love it!) and then we saw that Smear, Splat and Dip were starting to perform to an audience of NO ONE! Everyone just kept walking by them and I felt sorry for them, so I took DD and we sat down right in front. Then others started to join in and watch. During the part of the show where they choose a member of audience to interact with, they chose my DD and I. And at the end of the show, they gave us a Certificate saying we were honorary members of their show!
Then we ate at the Andapour Trading Company for lunch and we had a delightful one hour plus lunch! We got the first table right next to the main walkway so there was plenty to watch and keep my DD occupied -- but more importantly, it was in the shade!! It was really starting to get hot (but I always think AK is a hot park). We had such a wonderful time, that none of us wanted to get up and do anything. So we just sat and talked and people-watched and when we finallly decided to leave, we all felt really refreshed!
So off to Kilimanjaro Safari.
Doesn't it look like this croc is laughing in his sleep?
The elephants were in a good mood -- 3 of them (only 2 in pic) were playing with each other
The rare white rhino
Pumbaa!!
And before leaving the park -- DD had her very first Mickey Ice Cream bar!! This was also a mini-Dream for me, too. I usually get the MICB at one of those kiosks right before the bridge at the entrance. There are tables nearby behind the foliage and it's a nice quiet spot. Well, since we were on the
DDP we need to use our snack credits ... but their machine is broken and they can't do any transactions but cash. I was not happy. She must have seen and said, but I can give them to you. Woo Hoo!! Two more snack credits to use later!
The beginning -- yeah I had to pick white shirt this day!
DD liked licking the chocolate
DD getting a little full...oh, and I remembered I had a disposable bib in my bag!
Just a bit messy! DH was good enough to keep plenty of napkins nearby and mop her up so she didn't get too messy.
Then we were going to go back to the room right away but found some characters outside the park, so we had to stop.
Pluto was great! He was playing hide and seek with DD and really gave DD a lot of time.
One with the big cheese! I think this was our first time meeting Mickey this trip. I always tower over Mickey so this time I got down to DD's level.
Goofy was leaving so DD just was able to give him a high 5. Then Minnie started to walk away, too, and DD soooooo wanted to meet Minnie. I knew the "handlers" don't really want the characters stopping when the time is up, but Minnie was gracious enough to stop for a moment...
Which started the big problem...DD was getting into the habit of meeting a character, talking to them, having the Disney ABC book signed, getting a picture and then giving them a hug and kiss goodbye. Well, Minnie just shook hands (actually she posed for a quick picture but it came out all blurred) and then she left. So for about oh 20 minutes she cried that she was upset that she was not able to give Minnie a hug and kiss goodbye. And for the next 6 days (yes, she remembered this every time we met another character), she would tell me, "I hugged and kissed Stitch goodbye but not Minnie!" So I tell DH, that we have got to see Minnie Mouse again before we leave WDW ...

Hey DD -- what do you think about Mommy's new baby?
