May 2008--Everything's Coming Up Roses -- COMPLETE

Almost forgot about "tomorrow's" quiz.

We go to Animal Kingdom.

1) Lunch is CS at Andapour Trading Company and we are there for over one hour...why?
a) Service was super slow and we couldn't find a seat anywhere
b) Food was terrific and we ate every last drop
c) It was a nice relaxing atmosphere

2) DD has her first true Disney Food Experience here -- will become a tradition at AK (or WDW in general) going forward. What is it?

3) DD meets with Minnie Mouse but ends in hysterical tears -- what happened?
a) Minnie tried to give DD a hug and knocked her in the face
b) Minnie left in a hurry
c) Minnie's head came off
d) Minnie tripped and fell

4) I get 3 hours all to myself -- no DH, no DD. What do I do?

Thanks again everyone for your thoughts and prayers...today I started feeling really good but then went to a birthday party and got  there...DD was upset since we had to leave before the cake but I was

Hopefully this is just a part of the recovery and not something more serious. I need to monitor my symptoms since OHSS (Ovarian Hyper Stimulation Syndrome) can be anywhere from mild (nauseous) to severe (hospitalization).

The good news:

22 eggs
11 mature (cellular development is good and large size)
6 ferlized through ICSI (lab had to inject sperm directly into the egg since they wouldn't go on their own -- now we know what our infertility issue was)

We'll get an update tomorrow, but the nurse said that we are looking really good with 6 fertilized eggs -- all we need is one to make it to the end!:goodvibes
Sorry you got sick. Maybe God is just preparing you for the morning sickness that will ensue soon.

At least you know what the problem was now! Stupid spermies!

I think we'll have all six make it!
Oh, forgot to mention the potty training.

Today after the party, we did "no more diapers; no more pull-ups" and so far have had 2 accidents, 0 successes.

I'm hoping to provide an update on our WDW trip later this evening!
She'll get it sooner than you think!
Well, a ray of light happened this evening after dinner. She started to go in her underwear, started crying about it, so we told her she can finish on the potty, so she stopped and went the rest of the way on the potty!!:cool1: :cool1:

a small step!!!

Awesome! What a big girl!:woohoo:

I'm loving your updates and all the pictures you put in them. Thanks for putting up the pics of the backstage area.

Wow, you really got to meet a lot of DISers! That's really cool! Too bad you had to be on good behavior. I find it hard to restrain myself sometimes, and whatever flies out of my mouth just does. I'm sure I've offended a lot of people at one time or another.

I think I might have to try Spoodles sometime. I love bread dipped in olive oil!

OMG, an Illuminations cruise???? That would be so awesome! I'm glad they enjoyed it!

Yeah, I would try Spoodles. It was good. Our only issue was when we looked at the menu, we all only found 2 items we would want. And we didn't think we were picky eaters...but I guess we are. I highly recommend the lemon shrimp and pasta!

3/4 correct!

1.5/4 correct

Did you see that pic of Thurman the monorail driver? Did you recognize him? If you've ever met him you'd know...he was "SuperGeek" redefined.

Looks like I am too late for the quiz. Oh well.

Gotta say I love love love the pic of your DH and you jumping in front of the castle. I may have to borrow that one from you the next time we go ;)

Yes, supergeek indeed :rotfl:

Definitely borrow it! Someone on the DIS did that for every picture throughout the parks. I thought that was a bit too much but definitely like doing it at the castle. And I think the Photopass photographer had fun doing it too!

I figured your DH would know him!

IVF Update:

Our 6 embryos have reached 4 stage cell development!! :cool1: As long as they continue to survive for 2 more days, we'll have the embryo transfer on Thursday. Then I'm on 24 hours bed rest (docs say sitting at the computer doesn't count as bedrest -- hmmmpf!)

It's too early to "grade" the embryos but the nurse said things are looking good. So if we put 2 back in, we can freeze the rest and have 2 more attempts with the rest of the embryos (assuming they all survive the freezing) if we want/need to do it again. Using frozen embryos isn't quite as involved since my body doesn't have to grow them!

Marshay,

I guess it's time for DH to buy you a laptop then sweetie. I'll keep you and yours in my thoughts and prayers. We both know what prayers can do.

Thanks!

Yeah, DH has a laptop for work but he won't let me use it. So I just started a new book "Chasing Harry Winston" by Lauren Weisberger -- she wrote The Devil Wears Prada. So it should be a good read!

Yeah that sounds like it should be a good book. I enjoyed "The Devil Wears Prada" that was a horrible boss.

Thanks! I'll take all the prayers, thoughts, good vibes and pixie dust I can get!

It's weird to think that there are 6 "babies" of mine out there. I'm certainly praying that God takes care of them and helps the docs/lab decide which ones to implant.

I am so excited for you. I know this is an exciting and anxious time for you. I can't believe you will be on bed rest over the 4th holiday, but it is all for the best and you will appreciate it later.

Keep us posted!

Believe me, I know!! I always try to go to as many 4th of July activities and fireworks as possible. I love this holiday! Now I'll be reading books.

Here's the latest update:

Today we had 3 embryos go to the compacting stage which I understand is prior to the blastocyte stage. So for those 3, we are looking good.

I didn't have the heart to ask what happened to the other 3 yet...will do tomorrow. I don't know if they can "catch up" or if they are just not viable.

Our nurse said we would meet with the embryologist right before our transfer to discuss how many to put back in based on the latest data. That sounds kind of late to me, but I guess that's the way Shady Grove wants to do it.

I'd like to put 2 in but DH only wants to do 1. So we'll just have to wait and see how many survive the next 1.5 days and what grade they are.

I admit I'm feeling a wee bit weird/nervous/sad seeing how these numbers go down -- (22 - 11 - 6 and now 3 left.)
