May 2006 or Dec. 2006?

We are deciding between a May or Dec. cruise. Is there a big water temp. difference between the two months? DH and I celebrated our 10 yr. wedding anniversary on DCL in Jan. 2000 and the water temps were chilly - especially on the Dolphin excursion. Also, we couldn't dock at Castaway Cay because of a storm. Was this experience odd or normal for the winter months?

If there is anything else you can offer for advice, it would be appreciated.

FYI- We will be sailing with our kids, 9 and 11, 7 day Western this trip.

Go in May, Go in May with us! We are going May 6,2006 and also did Magic this past May. While I can't say much about Dec weather, I can tell you that our weather this past May was PERFECT! While the weather can't ever be guaranteed in any month, I would think water temp etc, could be better in the spring
