I guest I didn't tell you we are from the Orlando, FL area.pirate:

It appears the Inside GT rate has just been posted. We are holding out for the VGT. My family took the 2013 Westbound PC cruise and had such a fabulous time we would like to do it again this year. We were able to secure the VGT last year and have our fingers crossed they offer it again this year.

My daughter is in kindgergarten and this is probably the only time we could pull her from school for two weeks. She was one of only 200 kids last year and had so much fun as the Youth crew had so much time to devote to each kid. She was so spoiled...and so were we.

Hopefully there will be a VGT and we will join you on this cruise. Last year the VGTs were out the beginning of Jan. I am hoping they might appear the beginning of Feb since then it will be the 90 day mark. :thumbsup2
Talked to a DCL Cast Member I know, and she doesn't think there will be a VGT on this cruise.pirate:

Thank you Mommyto5! Now I can try to get a Palo reservation for one of the non formal/pirate nights :) :thumbsup2

I just pulled the trigger on the IGT. Being somewhat claustrophobic, I'm not a fan of Inside, but for the price, how could I pass it up. I was going to book a 3 night cruise over Valentines weekend, but this cruise was only $300 more. No brainer. I did the Eastbound Panama Canal in September. Loved the sea days. Traveling solo, I'll be bringing lots of things to keep me busy

Here's Mickey warming himself with the quilt I was working on in September.

OMG, ADORBS!!!! Love it!

Welcome to all the new peeps!

Thank you for posting the dining schedule!

Can't wait for 2/2 so I can book stuff haha.

Good news!

Since at least one person in your stateroom is a
Castaway Club member, you can take advantage of early access to book cruise activities online. You can begin booking your cruise activities on: 02/01/2014

Not 2/2!!:cool1:

I'm looking at Palo on the first formal night (you don't have to dress formal in Palo, right?)
And Palo on our third sea day.

Love the Mickey and quilt pictures! Welcome to all those who just joined us.:goodvibes

I've skimmed through all 66 pages, done my online check in, secured my flight, SFO to FLL, on southwest, options from the west coast are not so easy. I arrive at 11pm on May 1st. Looking for hotel suggestions. Thanks, will cross post to facebook.

Hello everyone! We just booked this cruise for May and we are so excited! It will be me ( Wendy ), my husband Tim and our two boys Jacob 13 and Samuel 11. This will be our 5 th cruise but we have never been on the Wonder or through the canal! Looks like I have a lot of reading and catching up to do. Could someone help me get added to a FE group please ??? We have done the group in the past and it is one of our favorite things!!! Thank you:) Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

Welcome!:welcome:

Welcome Lynda C! What a gorgeous quilt! Is it Hawaiian? It's a work of art! :artist:

We are flying from California on Southwest to FLL. We haven't booked it yet but we're looking at the Holiday Inn on 17th Street in FLL, because it is walking distance to a restaurant, drugstore and Total Wine (or so I've read) and also the SAS shuttle goes from there. If you do choose that option and go with SAS we maybe can fill up a shuttle and have to go to less other hotels before our port ;)

There are 5 in my party :)

I know the link to the most pixiedust: amazing trip report by two sisters was posted much earlier, but I went in and copied the links to all of the Navigators so we could see what our trip may be like.

BTW I noticed they photographed some menus and how lovely their food looked, does anyone know when we'll get our dining assignments? Now that I know what I could be having, I'm having trouble deciding what night to try to book Palo, other than not on formal/semi formal nights. I assume for example you eat the Triton Menu when you're assigned to Triton, not specifically on Day 5 or whatever was on the trip report.

For those of you who've done this sailing before, what are the "can't miss" Port Adventures? The boys will be 8, so they can't do horseback riding or stuff like that (bummer!)

I am interested in hearing all opinions, but just wanted to add the disclaimer that we won't be doing any beach/water/whale type activities since we can do those anytime at home. But please include them so others will know!

Please forgive me, but I can't remember who is doing SM. I also can't remember if I signed up! FE and SM are our favorite parts of cruising!

How can I make sure that the boys are signed up? (separately -- we will also buy two people gifts)

Also, we have used this in the past. I believe that more info is way better than less. Hard to buy something for a kid who "likes travel and The Hobbit" or "likes sports and Indiana Jones". Not joking, this is what we had to work with last time.

Extra info/anything you’d like your SM to know?

You won't know your meal rotation until you board. As far as excursions I normally don't do them as I am on this trip for the ships and not the ports. Still I am booked on the Key West Bike tour at the moment but I think I am
Canceling it.

I'm willing to organize a tour with Dora in Cartegenas. Last year we were to go on the WBPC cruise, but had to cancel due to my husband's stroke. We were to go on this tour and have kept in touch with last years organizer. They loved the tour. From what I understand the hassling by the locals was minimal and the trip was really fun. A few limited mobility folks went with and had a great time too.

If you are interested, PM me. If I get enough interest, I'll set it up and let those that sign up know what's going on. The cost is based upon number in van, last year it was $55/person.

PM me if you are interested - I will go with first come as priority for this excursion.

Thanks! BTW since you have been before do you know if they always serve the same menu on formal night/semi formal night? I'm trying to use that to predict which menu to skip, "The taste of California" since we live here and I'm hoping to grab a Palo spot if it's still available.

We were looking at Key West tours but then my dh reminded me that Key West is pretty small so it's likely we could walk to a beach. I guess I should start looking at some maps then!

The Taste of California menu is the one that I scratch my head over the most. I have lived in LA my whole life and I have never eaten anything like what's on that menu. The first formal night will be the Golden Mickeys menu. The second one will be Captains Gala. As for semi formal I don't have that info yet.
