I've always preferred large dogs (but not the aggressive types, like Dobermans, Pit Bulls, etc. - more like Airedales, Greyhounds, Golden Retrievers, etc.). My DW likes small fluffy dogs and DD wants a Chihuahua (of course, after seeing the movie).

We saw a medium-size Doodle in Las Vegas and agreed to compromise on the size. Golden Doodles vary in size from miniature to large depending on the parents. If you're interested, there is actually a Golden Doodle website: www.goldendoodles.com. We also considered the "Labradoodle" which is a Labrador Retriever / Poodle hybrid.

The kids don't know we're getting a dog. Shhhhhh. This will be a complete surprise. Since we're picking up the puppy on October 31, we're guessing that this will be one 'trick or treat' that the children will never forget. How funny would it be if we coordinated with a neighbor to put the puppy in the pumpkin after the kids ring the doorbell and say trick or treat? But I think we'll just surprise the kids when we pick them up from school. A friend at work let me borrow some of her dogs old doggie-halloween costumes which might fit the puppy. Then we can dress her up and take her trick-or-treating too.

Oh my gosh! What an awesome surprise for your kids! That would be too cute to dress her up! My DD is going to be a veterinarian for Halloween and all we have are stuffed animals to dress up and take along - sure wish we had that cute doodle!

Hi everyone! I can't believe I checked in before Zerog. I'll have to come back to see his countdown.

What great pictures! Zerog, love the doodle dog. We have a 7 yo Golden. They are wonderful with kids.

I hope everyone's well. I can't believe Tazgirl is already on a cruise. Lucky!

Our DVC offer passed Disney's inspection. Hurray! Now we're just waiting for the paperwork. Our agent thinks it will close quickly. My fingers are crossed. Now that it passed Disney, I can stop holding my breath and tell you a few details. We bought at the Beach Club Villas, enough points for a vacation every year for the kids and me to get away in August, which is usually DH's busiest time of year (That's the time we used to spend at Mom's.) plus a vacation every other year in February for the whole family. It sounds like more points than it is. Because you can bank and borrow points from other years, we actually didn't need to buy that many.

Now, the big question... when to tell the kids??

Hello Julie! We loved the pictures. Thank you so much for taking them. We had so much fun on the cruise. You have a wonderful family. We ran into each other very often and spent some good times together. I was really sad to say goodbye to them Friday night. Chris was sleeping and I didn't get to say goodbye to him at all. Shauna booked us ( her and Chris and Jenny and I ) for Feb 1,2009 for the Disney Wonder cruise. So we can get a taste of the Disney cruises before the one in May. Im so excited. Shauna is still here at my house so we have been really busy doing things. Tonight a truck crashed into our porch. Some kids fighting. That was nerve racking.Cops everywhere. Well now that its quieted down. Maybee we can get some sleep. I will talk to all later. Nice hearing from you. I enjoyed meeting and talking to you guys too. I hope we get to meet again somewere, you never know.

So Tazgirl...........how was it????????????????????????????

It was very nice. I loved meeting all of the friends from here (such as Gail). I have TONS of pics but I will have to upload them all to photobucket before I can post them. We got redirected since there was a hurricane out there so we didnt get to stop in St.Thomas like we were looking forward to, instead we got deported to Nassau (my least favorite port) but it was all to keep us safe and out of harms way. I look forward to our May cruise now!!

We were looking into rebooking the 2010 cruise while onboard this time but when we got the price quote it was more than what we could really afford for a cruise so we might looking into another cruise line or something else. But as mom mentioned we did do a little rebooking while onboard but for the 4 day Wonder Cruise in Feb 1st. So that will break the time up a little bit before we sail on the 7 day cruise in May

Aww- Everyones pooches are too cute! I love animals and to see those pics were cute. Congrats on the new puppy

Hi! Sorry it has taken so long to get back to this thread. I've posted a little on our thread, but I've been spending most of time trying to get everything unpacked and put away. Plus, Merkie's Daddy did her bedroom while we were gone and I have to put everything she owns back in draws and stuff. On top of all of that, Merkie and I are both sick. We went to the doctor today and got antibiotics. We are wishing we were on the Magic right now.

I knew about your Feb. 2009 cruise. Shauna and Mike told us while we were still on the ship. I didn't mention it because I didn't want to spoil any surprise that Shauna may have planned for you guys. You guys will have so much fun. I actually got a quote for the same cruise because I'd love to sail with all of you. But, Merkie would have to miss six more days of school for vacation in the same school year if we go. I think that I would be pushing it with what has been a very understanding and accomodating school administration. Oh well, we will all do something together some time. Shauna mentioned maybe meeting up with us the next time we come to WDW. Maybe you guys and Jennie can meet us there to. We will see.

Yea we do have alot of work. Tomorrow Mike gets a U-Haul. We have some friends comming over to help too. Maybee we will get most of it done tomorrow , then we will just half to worry about putting it where it goes. Oh well. It will be a long day.

Hey All!!!!

WOOHOO....only 27 more weeks!

It sounds like everyone has been really busy! Me too!!!! In fact, I did something I know I promised DH I wouldn't do.....I booked a trip to WDW for November 15th.. I am heading down with a friend that has never been to WDW, so should be a lot of fun, seeing things with someone that has never been!

We are doing MVMCP too on the 16th. Can hardly wait for that!!!!
That should tide me over til the cruise!
