May 2, 2009~~~Magical MAYniacs!~~~ 7 day Western....Updated, April 3,2009!!

I just wanted to let everyone know that I put a link to the Magnet thread on the FIRST page, so you can use that link to help you find designs etc.
:goodvibes

In the spirit of getting to page 100 :cheer2: I will tell you all the story of my watch.

Last Wednesday, I was getting ready for work and found that my dress watch battery had run out :sad2: Upon investigation, the only watch that was working was my red mickey mouse watch! And I have been wearing it ever since. :flower3:

Ok, for those of you who have shopped at Disney before, it is the good looking Skagen watch - no big Mickey on the dial - but I still have had to work to wear things that match with the bright red band!

Hi Ashlotte and PinkElephants
Thanks for looking after the FE for the Magical MAYniacs. As soon as we are given a stateroom? I will let you know what the number is. My DH says they have no staterooms or cabins in the engine room:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Hey everyone!

A few posts ago we were talking about PIN trading and purchasing pins off of Ebay. I have been doing some research as I had thought I had heard some rumblings earlier about "non legit" pins.

Here is a thread that may help you to determine if the pins you are purchasing are LEGIT

Hi everyone !

Just found this site. It's great to meet people that will be sailing at the same time as us !

We are first time cruisers and do not know what to expect, but I figured that we could not go wrong with Disney Cruise !!! We will be going to the WDW Dolphin for 3 days before the May 2nd cruise, so that I can show my daughter and my husband all the great things at Magic Kingdom. I've been there 6 times and never get tired of it !!

I will be there with my new husband Winston (we got married on Jan. 7th 2009 !) after 13 years together and our 5 1/2 year old daughter Trista who is into princesses !!!

I don't have my cabin number yet, I am waiting for my travel agent to e-mail me the info. As soon as I get it, I will post it. It's great to see that there will be friends for Trista in the group.

Talk to you soon :wizard:

That reminds me, I need to get a new battery for my watch before we leave! Ack!!! Just one more thing to add to my list!

Hi Laura
I read the first few pages of this thread and it is very interesting. I'm pretty certain now that the pins I purchased off of E-Bay are fakes. Had I not read the article, I would have had no idea. The pins arrived in perfect condition, each wrapped in its own little plastic wrapper. The kids were so excited when I dumped them out on the table.

There is a lot of dialog on this thread about the 'right thing to do.' Should I send the pins back? Should I not let the kids trade them since I feel 95% that they are fake? Some of the hard core traders are apparently very adamant about the introduction of fakes into the system. On the other hand, it doesn't seem like Disney is doing a lot to combat 'the problem.'

Nonetheless, I really don't want to convert this roll call into what I should or should not do at this time. I hope no one will judge me no matter what decision I make. All I can say in my defense is that we're not in it to make money nor to cheat the system. I wonder how many of the adamant traders have downloaded mp3 songs via a Napster-like (peer to peer) program.

I am just browsing around and reading posts. Is everbody making a magnet for their cabin door ? I am a fist time cruisers, so I might have lots of questions :cutie:

Hello and welcome to our roll call. :welcome: I added you to the Magical Mayniac list.

Last cruise I made magnetic door signs for our 2 kids. I printed the design that Kristine posted on some magnetic paper I purchased at Office Depot. If someone produces a new design, I will print out some more. If not, I will talk to my DW to see if she has any ideas - she is just a little more artistic than me (who has no artistic talent at all). :sad2:

Hadn't had any feedback...... So I will take that as nobody has ever done this. Might have to reconsider my options....

Hi Jeff and Jennifer
Haven't heard from you two in a while. What did you finally decide about your excursions?

Winstanik-Welcome aboard!!:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:
There are several of us who are first time cruisers, but we also have quite a few seasoned DCL travelers on this board who are offering lots of tips so you will be very glad you joined this group!:woohoo:
How great for your husband and daughter to not only go on their first cruise, but also a trip to WDW! I'm sure you will get lots of great picturesprincess:

Maybe this is a calm before the storm kind of thing - circumstances happening before our grand and wonderful upcoming vacation. Ok, I'm a little superstitious in that when something bad happens I like to think that means something good is going to come along and even things out.

First, I got a call yesterday morning that my 82 y.o. mom was taken to the emergency room due to fluid in her lungs and around her heart. She is still the hospital but her condition has been stabilized. Later that day, as a stroke of luck, I dug out the passports and was explaining what they were all about to my DS9. Upon closer examination, I noticed that his passport had expired last October. :scared1: Then I checked our DD's and it had expired as well. If there is any good news, I called DCL and they will accept a valid birth certificate. However, it could get messy if there was an emergency and we had to fly home. And lastly, the fake pin issue has left a bad taste in my mouth.

Sooooo.. Just 32 days to go... :yay:

Zerog-
First of all, your Mom will be in my thoughts and prayers, and I'm glad to hear they have her stabilized. Hopefully she'll make a full recovery very soon!
Secondly, thank goodness you noticed the passport issue prior to boarding! That would have been terrible to find out the day we sail.
Lastly, it's also good you know the origins of the pins prior to trading, that way you can make an informed decision of what to do and if you decide to return them, I hope it won't be difficult.
I hope your day gets better!!:goodvibes

Oh no!!!! I am so sorry that that happened to you Zerog. I wouldn't worry about anyone here judging what you do, I don't think that would happen. As far as I am concerned you were taken advantage of by someone that has no morals at all. Sorry again that it happened.

I am in the middle of making our magnets, have used some that were made for us and some of my own creations.
