May 19th Pirates Red Carpet

So, who is daring to wake up at the crack of dawn to get good spots on the Main Street red carpet.

My daughter and I will be there! We are really looking forward to it - it should be fun!

This is interesting....if the 'guests' are the 2,000 MAW ticket holders, does this mean they will clear the park and only the ticket holders will be able to line Main Street? (As opposed to regular park goers being able to hang out along Main Steet to watch the arrivals like last year.)

The guests referred to in that statement aren't the MAW ticket holders. That was a response I got before I had even bought the tickets and was planning to just line up on the carpet.
Sounds like lining up will be the same as both the previous premieres.

The red carpet is open to the public. If you want to get past the red carpet and see the showing and go to the party, you need to be holding a $1500 ticket. I am just going to be on the red carpet.


That is interesting about not being able to save spots. I'm going with another person. What if one of needs to leave to go to the bathroom or something...the other can't hold the spot for them? Maybe they just meant you can't spread out a huge blanket and have one person sit there saving for 20 people.

So, I'm not sure how to dress! It says Pirate attire. I don't know how to dress for it. What are you planning?

Yes, but this:

"Disneyland Gates will open at 6:30 am on 5/19, at which time Guests will be able to line up at the Red Carpet to wait. Space along the Red Carpet is first-come-first-served and there will be no saving spaces allowed"

...implies that the guests will be OUTSIDE the DCL gates and then allowed to come back in?????

Based on what I read, Disneyland gates open at 6:30 that morning and the red carpet will be setup down Mainstreet leading to Adventureland. So, if you enter Disneyland at 6:30, they will let you stake a place out along the red carpet. You'll have to save the spot all day until the evening event happens.

The movie starts at 9:00. That may be when they kick folks out....I'm not sure. I think Adventureland and Critter Country will be closed by 4:00.

Hi Katherine!
We got our packet today as well!
I'm wearing one of two tops with skulls and crossbones on them with black jeans and these adorable skechers flats I found with skull and crossbones on them. bringing a sweater for when it gets dark.
Anything piratey will work. My hubby will be wearing his Captain Jack football jersey and my brother got an At World's End T-shirt to wear.
Maybe we'll bump into each other there.
I was a little disappointed that asking for autographs and pictures with the celebs is not permitted, but I think it will be fun anyways!

We will be in full pirate wear--I am going as a wench and hubby as a pirate--full dress from head to toe! So excited--what fun it will be! Wave as we go by!

This is what is happening. The $1500 tickets are to watch the showing of it on Rivers of America, join in the party and buffet and get some items.

That is not what I"m doing. I'm going to Disneyland on the 19th at 6:30am opening to get a spot on Main Street where the red carpet will be. The stars don't start walking down the red carpet until about 4:30pm. This is open to the public. But to see the show and join in the party after the showing..you need to have a $1500 ticket.

So I'm just going to be on the red carpet to try and get a glimpse of the stars......along with a million screaming tweens

BTW, isn't it great that Make A Wish has made $3,000,000 from this event?

I think it's fantastic!!!

Please everyone that's going take lots of pictures for people like me that live in Canada and don't even have the choice to do stuff like this

Hi - I will be there with my two sons. They are so excited! They both bought new outfits that fit the theme and my younger son is going to wear the hat from his Captain Jack costume. He's really hoping to meet Mylie Cyrus...but, I've warned him that he has to act "normal" if he sees her. "YEA sure, Mom!!"

Her other, crazier friend, had said she'd be there @ 4am, and last year she ended up in the special features section of the DVD, so they know the area they want to go. She's wearing her pirate top (white peasant blouse w/long sleeves), corset type thingy, scarves & jeans.

For those of you going, you may notice her - she'll be the one stretched out sound asleep during the day since she's had little sleep the past two nights. But she's because it's the day for

HAH! I should have!

I got a call from Kelly. They're way down by the Partners Statue! Her friend who's been there since 4am is not far away. When Kelly got there the lines were almost all the way to the CALIFORNIA letters! Her friend, Brandi, was about halfway. That has to mean that people were camping out to get in to the front of the lines! That is so crazy.

I expect those kids will be there all day & well into the evening. Then they're going to California Adventure since it closes at 11pm tonight.

I hope they have fun.

What time is the red carpet event to take place? I saw on DAP that the park is closing at 5pm today. I can't wait to see any photos/videos. I would just pass out if I meet the incredible Mr. Depp. =o)
