May 19 - 24, 2014 San Diego to Vancouver

OK people, here is the word I got from DCL about which pier in Vancouver. I am assuming that if the ship is sailing out of Balantyne pieron May 24, that means our May 19 sailing arriving in Vancouver on May 24 will arrive at Ballantyne pier.

I have been looking at the excursions that Disney has listed for San Francisco, and I see that they added the Hop On/Hop Off bus options. I wonder what would be the benefit/disadvantage to booking this thru Disney rather than doing it on your own?

I may be wrong, but I am thinking that someone that had the one-day pass for the Cable Cars and also booked the Hop On/Hop Off could get to pretty much anything they wanted to see.

I just didn't see an option to book directly a Hop On/Hop Off for the night time Chinatown tour, and it looks like their daytime tours stop running at 5:00. There is a lot of information to digest and I may have just missed it.

Just joined my family DH, DD 10,& DS8; along with my parents. Question what is the fish extender? Looking forward to San Francisco. After cruise we're off to Disneyland.

Hi, I have added you to the roster on the first page. Welcome to the Cruise and the DIS boards. :goodvibes

What is FE - Fish Extender. Very brief explanation: You hang something (that has pockets or puches) from the fish outside your cabin door, and the other people in your exchange put small gifts/items in there for you and your family- some are handcrafted and some are store bought. There are much more lengthy explanations, just search the boards. A Google search should give you more information than you wish to read. :thumbsup2

Lots of FE ideas here. See you on the cruise.pirate:

This is our first disney cruise
Coming with my husband (38/40) & son age 6 (also missing last week of school)
And my in-laws. (65 & 60)

We are getting to Orange County on the 16 th and going to disneyland for a few days and taking amtrack to San Diego. Staying at Marriott that provides travel from amtrack and to cruise.

We are staying 3 nights after in vancouver at a fairmont (there are 4 there and all nice; one across the street from Canada pier) we stayed there last year and loved vancouver and wanted to spend more time. We loved Granville island.

This is our 4th cruise together; our 6th total
3 royal carribean (in carribean)
1 princess ( in Europe)
1 celebrity (2013 alaska)

We are super excited to try Disney!

In looking at the Port of San Diego calendar, it seems we are the only ship in port that day, so our boarding should be a fairly easy one, at least as far as no other passengers in the terminal except for the Disney Wonder.

Can you send me the link for making the mickey head with all the words in it. I made one for our last cruise but can't seem to find the link..THanks!

We booked our San Diego hotel last night. The trip is starting to feel real.

My husband has fantastic FE gift ideas and him and my brother are geeking out to take the best FE gift idea to a higher level. I'll try to keep them attached to reality, but if their idea works you'll have some really cool FE gifts. Oh, boys and their toys! Even if their idea doesn't work, the original idea on its own is pretty neat too.

Now, to finalise what we're doing in San Diego the morning of the cruise - doing some more sightseeing or heading straight to the ship? We're spending time with my parents in Southern California before the cruise and we may opt for a later boarding time to have a few more hours with them.

My sister and I along with a daughter each (ages 5 and 6) will be onboard. This is our first Disney cruise with our kids. We went on The Big Red Boat when we were little in the 90s. I already emailed to joined the FE. Are you sure there isn't a Pirate's Night? We were really looking forward to it.... We live down the street from Disneyland.

Welcome to the cruise everyone who has joined us this week!

We have an uncle who lives in the San Francisco area, so we're probably just going to hang out with him for the day. If he's not in town, we're probably just going to wander San Francisco for the day (unless I can convince husband to do the Lasseter Family Winery tour).

Yay!! The hubby and I will be joining you all on this cruise too!! Our daughter is away at college so she won't be joining us. This is our 7th cruise, 3rd Disney Cruise. Wish we were doing back to back like some of you, but I guess I can't complain, we are going back to Alaska for a cruise in August. :cool1: Cant wait to meet everyone!!
